I have learned so much about my favorite sport from Junior, Mike, and Denny. It's not about who I like or dislike more. I am learning from their insight and opinions. I love it and I am a better fan for it. Fans in NASCAR are usually so bias that they are unable to open their minds to a learning experience. Their loss.
Regardless of the love or hate fans may have for these two drivers, And I'm an HMS fan from the Schrader days. This is not a track where you can let frustration cause this type of retaliation. Fines and Penalties are in order, and he may as well own what he did. Thank God no one was hurt.
When was the last time someone got hurt smacking a wall. These cars are really really safe today. Like someone else had said, you only see what they want you to see. If they rewind the race and just watch Dennie’s car. You would see that several times that he slid up the track, he was running Chase into the outside wall. How many times can Chase put up with this kind of driving. Sooner or later ( after Chase’ car is wrecked and not handling very well) Chase has to say something back to Denny. So he wrecked Denny Hamlin. Then Dennie goes off like usual and does his cry baby bullshit. So NASCAR must do something. If they went back far enough they would see how many times he slid into not only to Chase but a few others also. When is NASCAR going to back up their stance. When saying “Have at it Boys” He is a whinny cry baby who only sees it his way. Everyone else is wrong!!!
Dale is the first NASCAR personality this week to point out that Denny put Chase in the fence multiple laps before that and appreciated that he could see the frustration coming Still doesnt excuse Chase...very dangerous crash that has killed in the past...probably worse than Chase intended in the moment
But there is the fact that Denny kept running Chase into the wall, which can knock a car out of the race. Denny was also intentionally trying to wreck Chase. Denny should have also got at least a point penalty for his behavior.

I really find this discussion interesting and I’ll leave my opinions of the two drivers out of this comment, but this it’s curious how the review of this data is held specifically to the point of contact instead of the data that lead up too the contact. This SMT data sounds pretty accurate to tell NASCAR what a driver is doing, what the car is doing, and helps them determine the cause of any incident; which you would think to include what Hamlin did to slide up into Elliot. I would like to see an analysis of the data where Hamlin slid up into Elliot. What would that show. I worked in Public Safety for years and when I was called to investigate one of our unit’s involvement in an accident we looked at all factors that led up to the incident to consider how to proceed with any actions against our drivers. Furthermore, isn’t this a Panora’s box? If drivers can access other drivers data and then suddenly post the results for the rest of the world to see on Social Media, that would compromise the investigation and future investigations of other incidents. Besides being in poor taste, I think it causes huge issues for regulation of the sport… I love to watch racing and the skill of these athletes (all of them from the driver to the pit crews) work their magic to compete. But, if evaluation telemetry data becomes the norm after incidents like this, and NASCAR expands their enforcement to the telemetry of the cars that could be provoking the other cars, we could see some unfortunate micromanagement scenarios in my opinion. But the only way to get an accurate picture of the cause is to evaluate all the data and factors leading up to the incident which would include any provocative action on the part of the other driver. I believe we should have sound judgement and not let anger fuel actions that could cause injury, so I’m not defending anyone. But, if the argument is to say one driver had good control of their car and could have avoided this incident you have to evaluate why Hamlin slid up into Elliot in the first place; which takes us down a very bumpy road in the future. JW
I’m so sick of hearing this was “just like the bubba” / Larson episode. Not all; Chase didn’t get out of the car, shrug off and shove the NASCAR official or go push Denny like he wants to fight. Not saying Chase shouldn’t have consequences but I’m glad he let NASCARS official crybaby know; “quit using me up you knucklehead!” Unfortunately delivers is too stupid to have gotten the message! I’m still thrilled Chase lives in delivers head 24/7 rent free!
I see what you mean but the statement released by NASCAR when the Bubba/Larson thing happened was that their decision to suspend Bubba was based solely on the actions by Bubba WITH HIS CAR. What he did after he got out had no bearing on the decision to suspend him.
Rick Hendrick's reaction was basically the same .... "“We understand NASCAR’s need to maintain consistency in its officiating. The penalty will not be appealed ..." And Hendrick has never been afraid to appeal when he thinks he got the raw end of the stick
One that is never talked is Pocono 2006. Clint Bowyer gets tight puts Tony Stewart in the wall, Tony keeps the wheel straight for a couple of seconds than just straight up door slammed Clint and took him out and finished 41st because of it. It was obvious that was on purpose. Even Wally in the booth was calling for Tony to be parked a lap or 2.
Well I have my opinions about what happened but I'll keep that to myself, but I did enjoy the discussion and your thoughts are pretty close. Keep it up.
That was a brutal hit and I could tell Chase was lying and not taking fault for that "I can't hear you it's loud" Just the body language and nervousness I could tell it was intentional

Here's the deal... in today's NASCAR you argue your case by coming back from a fine, penalty, or suspension by absolutely dominating the field and leaving the track after having delivered a flawless ass kicking. I don't like to speculate but I can tell Chase is dealing with some stuff behind the scenes in addition to dealing with some injuries, and not having won a whole lot lately. Was it intentional? Absolutely! The real question is why was that action taken? Well it's no secret about the mutual dislike between the two. Nascar has two wrecking balls on the track every week. Denny and Ross, Denny can't stop leaning on chase every opportunity he gets. Chase got tired of it. I don't blame him at all. I hope Denny got the message this time.
The message was to just dump him at 180 miles an hour into traffic? "Can't stop leaning on him"? You could also see Denny lifting, trying to get out of the gas to *not* get involved with the 9. And you're happy with the fact he turned someone at 180 miles an hour in a similar situation to the Las Vegas playoff race last season?
Denny was clearly trying to run Chase up into the wall and making contact a few laps previous. He was trying to find the limit and he stepped over the line.
@@namgreb9063 buddy keep crying. If it takes you three weeks to come up with a response, it automatically means nothing, since you’re still trying to excuse Chase. You can clearly see that Denny tried to lift out of the gas as much as he could, and your Golden Boy decided to turn him at 180 miles an hour. At that point there’s no excuse. Just like Bubba and Larson at Vegas last year. Bubba was unprovoked, Chase was unprovoked
@@danieldrabek4789 You realize I'm a different comment than the post you responded to, right? The problem with Denny is he tries to push the limit, but he doesn't have enough car control to intimdate someone vs. wreck them.
@@namgreb9063 yeah, i know. it took you three weeks to come up with that. The problem is not that Denny was "pushing a limit". It was absolutely clear that Hamlin lifted. There is no possible way to deny it. Watch someone do this to Chase Elliott this season after being so fed up with him. I guarantee that you will be calling for his head.
That does not matter. You have to look at each situation by itself. You cannot retaliate on someone just because he makes you mad. It’s mind games and Denny completely got in Chase’s head, and won
Denny doored the hell out of Chase for two laps before he got turned but NASCAR says nothing about that. I believe in Karma and Denny has some B/S coming!
@@EfBEye888 kinda like how Ross was in Denny's head from past incidents and then Denny intentionally took out Ross at Phoenix. Chase should be suspended for this, but Denny has had his fair share of stupidity too
The difference in the Bubba Wllace/Kyle Larson incident was Bubba chased Kyle up and down until he hit him and then proceeded to track him down on foot to start a fist fight and then played Victim.
Yes and that was something Denny or anyone else NEVER mentioned! I thought Bubba was suspended for that and not the intentional wreck!! Denny can dish it out like hit Chase several times and what Chase doesn't have the right to retaliate??? As far as I'm concerned Danny is a little candy ass whiny " B " and deserved it! 🏁
I've seen this comment on a lot of this coverage. The problem with it is that Nascar clearly stated that Bubba was suspended for what he did while driving the car, not what happened after he got out of it. So from a racing perspective it's the same thing and got the same penalty. I don't personally like Hamlin or Chase, but the data tells the story. Hamlin was tight and tried getting out of the gas and braking to try to avoid putting Chase into the wall. Chase overreacted and got what he deserved.
I love that Denny posted it. NASCAR should have posted the data to the public. Get the facts in the light. Chase's post race interview was full of classic 'tells' of someone guilty and lying, and Rick Hendrick didn't even mention an appeal. Rick knows the facts.
I am not going to try to self judge it. I look at as just being hard racing and sometimes pay backs have always been used and I am just very thankful that God did take care of Danny. That as most might not actually realize is why a Prayer asking for protection before every race is so extremely important.
The camera clearly showed Chase's hands move sharp left. And another view also shows that Brad bumped him AFTER Chase turned left. God had nothing to do with it. That just takes praise away from all the engineers that made SAFER Barriers, the HANS, and all the other safety equipment.
I just wonder if it was intentional. We assume it was, but that was certainly out of character for Chase in terms of he usually only would do that if he had been wrecked and damaged worse.
Denny is always pushing someone up to the wall every week. Then gets upset when they do him a little rough. Denny got what was coming to him. One of those racing hard deals.
What’s not being discussed is how many times that Hamlin has wrecked someone these in the last two years. Wrecked Byron at Texas last year, Larson at Kansas, Chastain at Pocono and Phoenix, JJ Yeley at Richmond, and Chase at Charlotte. If you also notice he wrecked Byron, Chase and Chastain all in the same way. Ran them high off the corner and put them in the wall. Im not defending Chase’s actions but I will draw light to what Hamlin’s doing but he’s been getting pretty wreckless with his moves.
He's been doing that forever. In an All-Star race (can't remember which year, late 00s), he done the same thing to Kyle Busch when they were teammates at JGR, which prompted Kyle to tell his guys to keep him away from Denny later.
The only thing missing from this video is your opinion Dale, as to whether or not you think Chase was justified, or close to it. I agree that it totally appears that Chase turned him on purpose. That being said, when a driver of Denny's caliber makes contact, and then 2 laps later runs you into the fence, you have to believe that Denny has more talent then that. These two have history, Denny flat out dumped Chase at Martinsville comes to mind. I bet at that moment Chase felt like he was being disrespected and that his race just got ruined, therefore as drivers do (make very important decisions at the speed of light) he said "Ah hell nah.....". I don't blame him at all. I think this was handled correctly by Nascar, and I believe that in the end, Chase will have even more fans, and Denny will have less.... Nobody likes a whiny ass tattle tale
Denny was angry because he got dumped by Chase… BUT it looked like he was driving like Ross Chastain drove against him.. funny how that works!🤣😂🤣. I hope Corey does good in the 9 car.
Big Chase fan here and after seeing what happened I agree with the punishment. That said, I’m sick and tired of Denny Hamlin being the benefactor of a retaliatory act.

This running people into the wall BS has been going on too much and people are acting like the other driver doesn't have the right to retaliate. I don't care if it's Chase, Chastain, or McLeod, they have the right to retaliate when someone does them wrong.
@Ka Gg you have to retaliate big or the other side doesn't get the message. Dale Sr wrecked the crap out of people all the time. You know what happened? People didn't want to mess with him.
I'm curious to how a driver can get multiple playoff waivers per year, especially when one was a penalty that is in place to prevent you from killing someone.
I think it's pretty obvious that Elliott got tired of Hamlin running him into the wall and turned into Hamlin. Maybe Elliott meant to just hit him in the door, not the quarter panel. To me ,,, the difference between Elliott and Wallace is that Wallace chased Larson down the track a groove or two to hook Larson and then pursued Larson in the infield and laid hands on him ,,, and then laid hands on a NASCAR official. Elliott did his dirty work immediately, and kept it on the track. So much for the "Have at it boys" days. ;)
Nope. Austin Hill literally sucker punched Myatt Snyder the next week at Martinsville. Godhardt Jr intentionally wrecked Brian Vickers in front of the whole field, while a lap down nonetheless, at the Daytona 500 in 2009. The only difference is that Bubba is black, and that makes your 40 IQ brain short circuit.
Lol. Jr u n your dad were nascar favorites. Fan favorites only time you heard the fans over the engine noise. Still get goose bumps watching kenny push dale to his last win at daga. Jrrrrrrrrrrr
The thing no one mentions about this is the move that started the accident to begin with. That move Denny made is almost the same as the one he made to wreck Chastain at Phoenix. It's the move that Chastain and Larson pulled on each other at Darlington. It's the move that Denny and all the other drivers have crucified Chastain for as a dirty over aggressive driving. It's the move that started the problems with Kyle Busch and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. It's a move that puts the car on the outside in a very vulnerable position, yet that is not being talked about. Sure turning someone head on into the outside wall is never ok but neither is forcing someone into the wall.

Even if that was the case….the ends don’t justify the means. If you want to dump someone in the middle of the corner at Martinsville/Bristol/Richmond, by all means do it, not a right hook on the front straightaway going 170 mph+. That’s asinine. Could’ve seriously hurt him.
You can say same about Elliott and Larson. Thy are a guilty as anyone for running drivers up in the wall. Hendrick fans act as if Hendrick drivers don't do it.
people forget that Hamlin ran into chase multiple times before Chase finally had enough. i understand it was wrong to hook Hamlin going that fast but if it wasn't for Hamlin intentionally running into chase and having enough of it, this wouldn't have happened. Then Hamlin goes crying for being turned.
@GhettoJesus if it would have been Denny hooking Chase, Denny would need security 24/7. Chase fans are the biggest bunch of know it all, know nothings, this sport has ever produced.
@DOK-SimRacing maybe Dick should tweet the SMT data on when he doored Chase on the restart and when he doored him before the wreck instead of just saying he got loose and was out of the gas.
@marty carlson not much of a race fan are you bud, you can see a lane left for chase, you can see Denny out of the gas with the flash of the tailpipe, your boy ran out of talent and threw another fit.
I find the Chase Elliott/Denny Hamlin Ordeal Extremely Ironic Considering the fact that Elliott & Larson are teammates as well as Hamlin being Bubba's Car Owner
Well that and Larson is notorious for running people into a wall but when Larson does it no one says anything but the second it happens to chase it’s the end of the world. They were defending bubba for doing the same exact thing chase did but they certainly were defending Larson. Weird how HMS fan boys can’t see how stupid they are.
Seems like every time Hamlin runs into somebody it is an unintentional "racing incident" but when someone runs into him it was intentional, dangerous, and should be penalized....What a cry baby...
I appreciate your view and knowledge, your comments are spot on, i am a chase fan, but someone needs call denny out for whining when he is hit and he ran over everybody on the track. Gibbs cars are good for that. Sr never whined about being hit, he took care of it on the track, NASCAR has forgotten it is NASCAR
So when Denny put Chase in the wall for the 3rd or 4th time in a handful of laps, Chase had to work the wheel to gather it up. PERIOD. Denny puts guys in the fence time and again and admits it, yet the victim always gets blamed. SMH
I was a DH fan until a couple years ago when he started giving a bunch of the new talents a tough time and became a massive heel of Nascar. Lately, Denny has been playing off his driving behavior against another driver too often, like he's Nascar's golden boy. Nascar needs to start warning and punishing Denny for intentionally pushing around others on the track and acting innocent every time something happens.
The biggest tell sign, is that after Chase's car bounced off the wall and was "damaged" so much that he could not help hitting the 11, it drove pretty darn straight on the track all the way around to the pits, kind of makes Chases comments outside the care center hollow
When Chase turned left into Hamlin they were at the place on the track where it turns left (trioval). If Chase doesnt turn left, he is in the wall again. Hamlin bears responsibility in this wreck. Wallace pursued Larson across the track, no innocence there.
That is where Charlotte is certainly dramatically different than Vegas. Less room coming off the turn and in the dog leg because of the double dog leg.
I noticed that when Chase was back in thé pit lane after the crash that the right rear wheel was not straight, something as bent in the suspension. The right rear wheel was " toe-in" . So Chase car was probably very hard, if not impossible to drive. Your show is awsome BTW😃
And not like Chase has a history of just right reading a guy or wrecking guys on purpose. The only times it looked maybe intentional were COTA 2022 and Phoenix 2017, along with the ROVAL 2021 against Harvick.
Hey, Junior, like the Sun Drop outfit. I still have an unopened 6 pack of commemorative bottles when your dad was a 5 time champ ( includes his rookie year). ❤
Why is Chase suspended for a race when Denny was penalized but not suspended when he admitted he took out Ross? Not saying they are wrong for sitting Chase. Just curious what was the difference
@@wingracer1614Well, wrecking a guy intentionally is wrong either way. I am a Sr fan and disliked when he hooked DW at Richmond and would take out guys before halfway.
No, it was worse because you racists hate Bubba and worship Hard R because he used the word you want to so desperately say. And before you say Bubba came out and "assaulted" the felon's wonder boy, Austin Hill literally laid out Myatt Snyder at Martinsville the next week with nary a peep out of NASCAR for it. Godhardt Jr, remember when you intentionally wrecked Brian Vickers, WHILE A LAP DOWN, and wrecked the whole field on the sport's biggest stage?
it's the same, doesn't really matter that bubba/larson were seperated more, its about the action of the driver to put the other driver in an unsafe situation.
@@zachg9065 Denny does it all the time so as far as that goes you get what you give or did we all forget Martinsville and it was worse because of the fact Bubba chased Larson down totally different situation
I don't dispute the discussion points but how are drivers supposed to curb being door slammed or driven into the wall. It just seems that occurs much more frequently with this car. The inside car usually receives little consequence from washing up into other cars. Then what self policing or retaliation is acceptable? I think it is hard to predict how violent a crash could be from any car being spun, whether hooked from the right rear or elsewhere. Collisions in the rear or door can be just as violent.
What I want to know is what is NASCAR going to do when Denny or Bubba does it again? Progressive micromanagement. So Denny hit his talking points and was successful in getting NASCAR to follow his lead. Hopefully Denny and his racer Bubba, or even the 45 car don't hook anyone this year because they should get a year suspension. Be very careful when you call for dispensing suspensions. Because yours and Bubba's will be extreme. You seem to forget Bubba drove down 2 lanes to hook Larson, then physically attacked him, then laid hands on a NASCAR Official. Maybe criminal charges should have been pursued by NASCAR with Bubba
You notice these drivers are always saying it’s hard to pass. You will also notice that if they can’t pass another driver, they put them in the fence. I guess that’s a new way of passing.
As far as my point of view. Hamlin squeezed Elliott up against the wall intentional or not. Chase had not fully recovered from that then Bradd Kaslowski unintentionally bumped him or took the air off the spoiler in order to avoid the wreck and as a result Elliott was wiggling and it appears to look like Elliott intentionally wrecked Hamlin. Also I believe Boyer's. Knee jerk reaction was a bit uncalled for as a result influenced everyone including Nascar to punish Elliott for simply trying to gain control of his car. All in all I believe both Elliott and Hamlin are innocent. Hamlin could of taken the high road with class and said rubbing is racing which would have ended this feud. What do you think?
Your point of view is 100% incorrect. You can see clearly on the replays that the #6 didn't bump Elliott until Elliott had already turned into Hamlin. The announcers pointed that out right away. The SMS data doesn't lie. Chase yanked the wheel hard left.
Dale Jr. I'm curious as to your opinion as a driver. Not the political side. But as a driver how do you feel about a driver crying to Nascar about on track conflicts. Noah Gragson should complain about the security guy grabbing him as soon as the first lick is passed. But seriously, the two have a history. Denny doored him twice and Chase reacted immediately. Bubba Wallace drove a half mile to get to Larson at Michigan from top to the grass. That's premeditated. What Chase did was reactionary. I realize you don't hook in the right rear. But I don't see in the long run this benefitting Denny. Sort of like Kenseth and Logano. So, how do you handle this in the future??? Don't hook the right rear. Just run over him on contact. Denny swung that door open at Martinsville several years back. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. One last point... why worry about hooking the right rear because of safety. When every restrictor plate race has 7 cars running at the end?
Dale is really the only guy I want to listen to about anything NASCAR. He brings a different point of view to incidents, especially from a driver persepective.

I have learned so much about my favorite sport from Junior, Mike, and Denny. It's not about who I like or dislike more. I am learning from their insight and opinions. I love it and I am a better fan for it. Fans in NASCAR are usually so bias that they are unable to open their minds to a learning experience. Their loss.

JW

Good point. The result is the same but the situations were clearly different.
Agree but Chase was not far from Denny. Did not have to move far for same result. Split second decisions
Bubba got off easy for what he did.

I love that Denny posted it. NASCAR should have posted the data to the public. Get the facts in the light. Chase's post race interview was full of classic 'tells' of someone guilty and lying, and Rick Hendrick didn't even mention an appeal. Rick knows the facts.
I only saw it one time, but it struck me as typical Chase.
Just discovered nascar this weekend and fell in love. Where can I get more news and content around nascar and more races?

Because Denny did not right hook Ross at 180 mph head first into the wall in a spot that has killed drivers the exact same way.
@@wingracer1614 wrecking someone is wrecking someone... Need to see suspensions weekly
@@wingracer1614Well, wrecking a guy intentionally is wrong either way. I am a Sr fan and disliked when he hooked DW at Richmond and would take out guys before halfway.
My question about this is WHO THE HELL retaliates more than Hamlin or Chastain when they're pushed into the wall?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
The incident with Bubba and Larson was worse because bubba chased him down
No, it was worse because you racists hate Bubba and worship Hard R because he used the word you want to so desperately say.
Denny's always in the middle of stuff, but it's never his fault. Kelly and Dale will regret ever going into business with him.
😆 🤣 😂
I doubt it. Jr could cut ties now and make millions after a lawsuit.
@@easyenetwork2023 DH will damage Dale's brand.
So how maney times getting ran into up the track do you take?
All the fans who were frothing at the mouth when this happened to Bubba, but now don’t understand at all, should just quit watching
As Charles said:
"Just an inchident"
Denny needs to remember, "He who smelt it, delt it."😮
Wait, wait, wait. Denny chastained Chase at least twice. Denny provoked this. Denny should be parked too.
That is a case of you hit me, I hit you back harder.
NASCAR is afraid of the Bubba Wallace Monster that they have created
You notice these drivers are always saying it’s hard to pass. You will also notice that if they can’t pass another driver, they put them in the fence. I guess that’s a new way of passing.
Nobody knows how to pass anymore. They just knock each other out of the way and that ain't racing.
I got the evidence then turns off the comments 😂
I Think both should sit out
