What's your favourite reference in the set? If you had to add one what would it be?
For me I think I would've swapped out the Captain America exhibit for a Rogers the Musical advertisement since this is in New York City

My theory about the hidden red coffee mug, did you know that traditionally in Lego the red mug is a symbol given to the best rated set by Lego designers & management? Goes way back to at least the 80s
Has anyone any "official" source stating that the red mug is a designer award of "best rated set"?
I've seen that claim a couple of times, but I haven't been able to trace the origin of it :(
I’m so glad someone had at least a theory about it! When building this set the red mug had me absolutely baffled hahaha!
The red mug is basically a meme by LEGO
You know how the Bugle had that "modular connection point" offset by one stud by default, this set allows you to connect it with the 4 long technic brick, so you don't have to fix that Bugle error

Yeah, but it's not like it is hard to move over a box by 1 stud
It’s crazy how much love went into this set! The figures are disappointing, yes, but tbh with this kind of set of prefer the figures to be lacking rather than the build

@Yoda I like the figures, but with the daily bugle having much more and most higher quality and the majority of figures from IW makes it disappointing. I would have loved a combination of DS 1+2, IW (maybe), Maybe NWH, but making DS the focal point would be better than a villain henchman from a Avengers movie and 2 avengers. Imagine we got Doctor Strange from both movies, Christine, Ancient One, Mordo, Kaecilius, Wong, America Chavez, Scarlet Witch, DS 2 Mordo, evil strange. That would be awesome, and most wouldn’t even need a lot of printing, some maybe dual molded to look better but it would still look good.
The fire extinguisher has to be a reference to the meme of how they are in every Marvel set.
The more sanctum videos I see, the more I feel like I need this set…. But with all these price increases this might be my last set for a while

I love this set, but there are a few things that are very disappointing. The lack of Doctor Strange 1, Ragnarok, and NWH figures is very disappointing, it also should’ve come with the “For Fox Sake” mug, the Darkhold, and maybe even the Book of Vishanti. Highly disappointing it didn’t

@@shiori00 Doctor Strange was in both of those films, and so was the sanctum. If they could include Infinity War figures, they could inClyde figures from those films also
@@Jay-Zech well yes but it just seems weird to throw both in especially when in Ragnorak it wasn't a major setting and we already have a NWH Sanctum set with the figures you'd want asides from the villains and maybe Ned but even then you can recreate the minifigures yourself or purchase unofficial figures or custom ones.
@@shiori00 The sanctum was just as big of a setting in Ragnarok as it was in Infinity War. It was in the films for about the same length. And if they could include all those Easter eggs to Ragnarok, they could include a Thor and Loki in casual clothes(they don’t even have to make new prints). And about NWH, yes we got that sanctum set, but they still could’ve done Ned, MJ, and Peter(in his blue shirt, like at the sanctum door). And if I’m paying $250 dollars for a set I should be getting all the figures it should have, I shouldn’t have to buy customs or make them myself
The portal monster that you covered towards the end was actually the portal monster in multiverse of madness, it is the monster that chased America chavez to doctor stranges dimension toward the beginning during christines wedding
For the First doc.strange movie there Is that skeleton body in black. Is the trap that strange use againat caecilius (Sorry for the bad english but i am italian)
The "glowy thing" is from spider man homecoming featuring in "beware the Vulture" and the two sactums. The newspaper stand is the same build from the first sanctum.
You missed the "I brick NYC" sticker on the fridge (not too big of an easter egg though so its fine).
Based on the repeating characters, it looks like the tesseract page says “space stone”
There are actually multiple Smithsonian museums throughout Washington D.C., Virginia, and , funny enough, New York, however the museum that they are referencing was in Washington D.C.

The “coffee mug” is a tea cup because stranges asked if Thor wanted tea and he said “I don’t drink tea” so strange hid the tea cup

The red mug is in-house easter egg that Lego puts in their sets from time to time.
I love all the references im a Marvel fan myself and to see that lego is putting so much effort into all the references so I Hope they go on like this

I believe the hidden mug may be a reference to when Mordo spikes Dr. Strange’s tea to capture him in the last Dr. Strange movie, Multiverse of Madness.
The Dark Dimension and it needs to be added with a few things:
A Print of Dormammu
Clea and a BIG FIG BUILDABLE WATCHER and don’t forget Strange Supreme

The inclusion of the Fire Extinguisher might be because the LEGO games always have fires that need putting out in overly complicated ways so maybe the inclusion of these in Marvel sets means we'll never need to endure that pain lol
I think my favorite reference is the tile that has what looks like Strange posed as he is in his first comic book cover!
Ashnflash , i love all the references , i am Romanian and i dont know much Engilsh and thats why i dont write a comment on every clip of yours , but know that i look at each one . Last time and now , i wrote because i love this set so much . I try to write as accurately as possible , i hope you understand what i mean . For me , you are the best American Lego Fan , and i appreciate what you do , all the respect . The phase with the time stone , which is verry funny ,i think its either from Strange who played too much with time , so he broke the stone and went to take another from another universe until he reached the 4 time stone . Or another theory would be that Loki did some nonsense and was left with 3 time stones , so he threw them in the trash ,( verry briliant Loki ) . But this are my theory , what you think ?

Set looks rlly good. Actually getting this set mostly for the build cause it looks so good and the build techniques look interesting also.
It's such a good lego set
6:50 that's literally the chitauri battery. Peter has it on his desk in the old set bc he has it homecoming. You know not every reference has to make complete sense. Just because dr strange wasn't seen having it doesn't mean it can't be in the set. It's a nod to older movies.

You missed one, but I think the black coldrun like thing by the stairs is the same thing that Dr strange used to erase "Peter Parker is spider man" from the world in no way home, also in one of the promotional pictures it shows spider man entering the sanctum like he does in no way home, minus the snow

I'm fairly certain that the purple thingy is in fact the Chitauri Egg. It's the EXACT same build (not just the purple piece; the silver stud on the bottom is a giveaway in my eyes), and although it's not accurate to the MCU and I have no idea how it got there, it's in Peter's room in the original Infinity War Sanctum, and I don't know why Peter would have something that is the same build as the Egg without it actually being the Egg. So although it makes even less sense being in a Doctor Strange set, I don't know what else it could be. I doubt that it's just some random relic, because again they used the exact same build. Hope this helps! Sorry I'm late to the party so you might not see this.
Also what's that space portal from again? I haven't watched Doctor Strange in awhile but I don't remember that door ever leading to the Dark Dimension. Is it just a reference to the Dark Dimension but not actually from the movie like the other two or is it in the movie (is basically what I'm asking)?

The Dark Dimension art is based on the classic Jack Kirby art from the comics which is why it looks pretty trippy because well it was a trippy few years at the time
As much as I love Jack Kirby artwork, Dr Strange is a Steve Ditko creation, and it is his artwork!
The red mug confused the heck out of me. I was like why the heck would they put this back here if it's just getting covered up. Hence why I checked out this video. All the other references are straight up awesome.

This is one of my favorite sets ever
I think the 2x2 tile with the “tesseract” is actually the magical box that sends the villains back in No Way Home
the magical box was a copper color not blue
Unless I’m seeing incorrectly I don’t see any apparent blue on the tile
I also think it's the "Machina de Kadavus", though the details on each side don't quite match up.
The only other cube we've seen in the MCU (apart from this and the tesseract) is the "Casket of Ancient Winters", which is a Thor reference.
To be honest some more minifigures would be really nice, and the alley should not have been 6 studs deep, it should have been much smaller. There would have been a lot more room in the Sanctum for details and Easter eggs.

I love this set! I don't have none of the mini-figures in this set, the build is stunning can't wait to pick this up!
I think the Cube sticker might be the "Machina de Kadavus" spell containment box from No Way Home I could be wrong. Though it does look like it.

5:19 that relic inside of the glass display box is probably the Brazier of Bom'Galiath which was a weapon once attempted to be used by Doctor Strange in the first film in order to fight Kaecilius which he actually failed. It was also in MoM wherein Christine Palmer used it in order to fight the demons that were coming out from Strange as he tries to dreamwalk from his dead alternate self.

In the 1st instruction book it says "Hidden portal to Kathmandu on the roof (and a handy guide for when you get there)". Where is it?
Next to the two chairs near the Sands of Vishanti, there appears to be a mug of beer, likely referencing Thor's constantly refilling drink in Thor: Ragnarok.

There are so many fun references in here, it’s hard to choose one favorite! The Thor: Ragnarok ones are probably my favorites!
The dark green chair is from the Infinity War sanctum set. Definitely not a reference to the chair Tony DIDN'T sit on.
Lego can put caos first avenger suit on a poster but can't give us the figure

Some stuff I noticed:
The skull on the bookshelf may be a reference to the original Dr Strange set in which there is also a skull on a shelf.
The caldron next to the stairs is the Caldron of the Cosmos that Tony leans on in Infinity War

i mightave found another easter egg but not 100% sure but if I can remember correctly before Dr. strange lost his hands in the car accident he was taking christine out for crem brullet (i dont know how to spell very good) and you can see crem brullet on the back of the fridge so there might be another one.

Want to say that this set might spoil some scenes from some marvel MCU movies, so please watch those movies first and then build this set.

The Black Widow sticker isn't a reference to her first appearance in Iron Man 2 or her own solo movie. It's just a reference to her, like this with the Hulk :)
