Lately, it seems like everyone and their grandma is talking about quitting UA-cam. And hey, before you jump on my case, hear me out. I've watched some of those videos, not all of them because honestly, I'm not a big UA-cam watcher myself. I'm more about making videos to teach photography, you know?
As a woman, it's even harder. I'm constantly walking this tightrope between being criticized for showing too much or not enough. It's exhausting, and it takes a toll on my mental health.

Vanessa... no pun intended, but you are an absolute joy to watch, and follow. I've done so for years. You've played a part in my photography journey and I can't thank you enough. Creators such as yourself, Thomas Heaton, and several others have played a big part in my development as a photographer. I started it simply as a side hobby over 15 years ago as a way to spend time with my son. Since then, it's been folks like yourself that have shared so much valuable information and insights that has now landed me in a position in which I manage a group of over 50 photographers. You played a part in my personal journey, and I can't thank you enough for you, and your channel. I have been watching and admiring you for so very long. You inspired me to purchase my Canon EOS R5 as a retirement gift to myself. I have to tell you I love this camera and all that I have learned from you. I am a complete novice. I find it hard to believe that there are people who have the time to criticize your videos. I find it even harder to believe that there are stupid people who criticize the way you dress (I think you are a beautiful woman and every outfit you wear looks amazing on you) but beyond that, the important thing here is the content of your channel. It has helped me a lot to grow as a photographer and I only have words of gratitude. I don't dare to tell you what to do but I'm a believer of the ideology "don't listen to assholes". In the end, those interactions (the negative ones) are still generating numbers on youtube that help to position your videos. Oscar Wilde once said: "the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about". I hope you don't let the bad comments affect you. Kisses to Loki!!!

Just keep doing what you love to do. There will always be negative people and negative circumstances in this life. My p/t job I deal with all kinds of people. Some can be really mean and for no reason. Forgiveness is easier said than done but it's a must. I have to remember to count my blessings and know I have that sure Hope for the future. I'm so glad you're not leaving UA-cam. You call your detractors trolls I call them gutless keyboard warriors. They hide behind a keyboard spewing their vomit, saying things they'd never say to you in person.
I've been playing with cameras off and on for a very long time. I bought my first 35mm 2 weeks before my son was born and he turned 50 in March. There isn't a video of yours I've watched that I have not learned something.
You're such a great asset to the photography community. There are only a few very accomplished photographers willing to share their knowledge and experiences with those of us who are less talented and you're one of them. Thank you for taking the time to create these videos.

Hey beautiful lady been watching your channel for years ! I love the great content ! You share some great stuff that is very helpful, and I am sure you have helped countless people from your videos! I have been doing photography since the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and yet I still have learned from you. Forget the negative people its like swatting flies and continue your great work helping those of us that feel grateful for what you do. Maybe those who make negative comments on your looks or what you wear are just jealous. Hey Vanessa, i can see how things can get stressful really fast. I'm glad you stuck through when it was tough at the beginning because as a wedding and portrait photographer i fimd it so hard to find good models on UA-cam that are similar to my style.
