Some of your letters and numbers are side heavy such as 4,7, and so forth. How are these letters balanced when standing? Thank you.

Can you make wood letters with metal edging / frames?

Definitely. You just need to angle the ends OR use thin material - which is strong enough usually once you put it all together anyhow.
