You would be the best translator.
"Can you please translate that Mr Translator?"
"Bengali!"
Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus this made me laugh harder than the video ever did 😂😂
I was thinking exactly the same thing xD you can't translate just by being able to identify WHICH language it is
Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus I'm a native Bengali speaker and that was absolutely hilarious to hear the sample
I actually really like these videos, simply for the Wikipedia sections. Proves dan can make literally anything funny, even the most factual of information.
>wikipedia
>factual
>k
Thomas May you're new to Wikipedia aren't you because most people would no that there's no facts on there
SleepingStorms7 Most people would also *know* that *know* is spelled *know*, you gibbon.
Jesus Christ you lot! Calm those titties of yours! On the topic of Wikipedia being _factual_, in most cases it is because people who know what they're on about edit and fix the mistakes of those who don't. In most cases, this is done in less than 10 mins. This _generally_ allows for more factual and up-to-date information.
While yes, it is often wrong, its generally perfectly fine for what most people need to be doing. If not, check the references and make up your own mind.
And even so, I wasn't really talking about Wikipedia's factual *accuracy*, but it's factual *tone*, something Dan somehow makes funny and interesting.
Thomas May he should make one of those funny documentaries like Jay Foreman makes... it would be funny as shit
As an amateur linguist the way you link languages is fascinating, also systematically wrong.
Z6U6Z6U nerd cubed in a nutshell
Z6U6Z6U it cant be wrong unless he's wrong
+aceman0000099 That makes it THRICE WRONG!!! Unless my math is off...
That's just how Nerdcubed works. He does things so badly that they somehow loop around and work out.
Z6U6Z6U thats like the teacher saying no thats all wrong, I mean you got the right answer, but still no!
It's weird how you always get Afrikaans despite thinking it sounds French, because Afrikaans is more like Dutch, but if it works for you!
exactly, like 50% of the words they use are straight up the same words as those used in dutch... I could even almost understand what they were talking about as a dutch-speaking person... almost...
Nightjar I genuinely thought you were me for a second then.
...long lost twin sibling?!
...must be. Seems much more likely than two people just happening to choose the same profile picture. Siblings. Yes.
I mean they where just asking where the word "shabloon" comes from and the word stencil. I don't know how that is the subject you end up on but hey.
When he picked Swedish instead of Romanian i cried
Pinking Gaming did you cry in Romanian?
+Jotham Housden *laughs in danish*
Pinking Gaming *questions mental integrity in Armenian*
Pinking Gaming *flips off in japanese*
Replies in English
A normal day in Spanish class:
"Yes, I finally remembered what these words mean"
*Test day*
"FUCK!"
SirMan McDude * learn the same Spanish words for the year. you get the test and it's a different language than Spanish *
In my case we were never actually taught the language, but we still got tests as if we were.
Translate This: *spanish words* Bengali!
Japanese is mainly spoken in Japan, thanks Wiki! xD
Moto G that's how teachers find out if you used Wikipedia.
Not even true. Japanese is mainly spoken by weaboos in the west
You need to play this with DadCubed!
hahaha that would be amazing.
Bring in Many a True nerd and Matt as well.
We need a Nerd Completes for this!! :D
no
How do you complete this?
what is their to complete
Part 1,450,001
Finally got to Javanese.
Max Hill that's what he means , he can't complete it , so it'll go on forever
Hell yeah, this again
Pardon?
HE SAID, "HELL YEAH, THIS AGAIN"
HAVE YOU MISPLACED YOUR HEARING AIDS AGAIN?
Andrew Alright, I'm only fourteen. And I don't listen to loud music.
Merde tu.
Just joshing ya mate
And "shit you" too
Dan yesterday: A Nazi isn't someone who disagrees with you
Dan today: A nazi is someone who holds this specific opinion differing from my own.
Darrerdian And that phenomenon is called exaggeration for comedic effect
But Wrath of Khan being better than Beyond isn't an opinion, it's a fact. Those who believe otherwise believe in a lie, a trait commonly found among Nazis.
RedRocky54 you make a valid point.
RedRocky54 sure
Waiting for polish cuz my language is sooo fucking hard
example:
Zęby
which means:
teeth
or
Język
which means
tounge/language
CHALLANGE:
Read this
Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz
Bitch
Mieszko Zdun I'm doing a german languages degree and they have massive compound nouns so I'm used to long af words, but sweet bleeding jesus that name made me blue screen irl haha
Mieszko Zdun Easy, the translation is Gregory Blazkowitz. They never really talk about him in Wolfenstein, guess he was mates with 1940s Piers Morgan...
Mieszko Zdun im serbian so until you gave me that last name i could read it perfectly
Mieszko Zdun well my family is now thinking I'm trying to summon a demon, thanks.
+James Fière Well its an Polish tounge twister that was in Famous polish movie called "How I started II World War" which is about funny adventures of polish solider...
(in one scene Nazis asked him for his name to write it so he said that and the german guy was like:
ghhh... gjee...
can't wait for that Jay video.
yea me too
Dan said on twitter after the last video that he was in the middle of editing a part two.
Euroa Dimasse In the video they said they were doing three.
Tonight
So what's up with the lack of intro..?
Nick Jonker you haven't been here for a long time have you... ohh how things have changed my friend!
its a part 2
The Silver Hornet Oh trust me i've been here for far too long...
And i'm proud of it!
DEMON-HUNTER Yeah i know, but did he ever start a video without a proper intro?
All of his Planet Coaster had 0 intro
Dan i am norwagian and i can confirme that they dident say anything about snow. Infact they was talking about Deer hunting. Soooooo yeah.. NORGEEEEEEEEEEEE🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plz like so dan can SEE this
And the second norwadian one is from the fucking summer... there is more in Norway then FUCKING SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he heard the sound of snow, not the word
he heard the sound of people walking though snow, not the word snow
aceman0000099 Being a Norwegian he must be so used to that sound that he simply cant detect it anymore.
French rifle for sale! Never fired, dropped once.
Jacob Silberhorn we also have tanks for sale, factory new and can go 5 times faster backward then forward
Where did that quote come from? I remember hearing something like it recently in a war movie that I think was in WWII.
describing colors is physically impossible dan, you're not alone in this
Red is a provocative colour that is mainly used in intense or menacing scenarios. It's closely associated with heat, evil, the fiery depths of hell, authority and cherries. It is one of the primary colours.
now try and describe it to a blind guy
DeipuDaisky Doo His description would work with a blind guy
@@fruitcake5081 yeh but we might not all see the same red. we have no way of proving my red is your red, my red could be your green and my green could be your red, the colours may be completely different but just have the same name. hence, its impossible to describe a colour
for added comedic value watch with subtitles on
TheLegend oh boy.
My dad is Romanian and my mom is Swedish. So you confusing their two respective languages made me really happy for some reason
Also more of this game, this shit is gold
I got an advert for Babel.
That's amazing
amit banai i get an advert for Babel on every video -_-
The "Wiki" parts are my new favorite parts of any Nerdcubed video.
One thing I learnt from this is that somehow I'm extremely good at recognising languages. Maybe it's because of all the different characters I like to create with each their own name.
for some reason the japanese intro at the start was soothing
seriously dan it sounds french so its afrikaans ... afrikaans is pretty much dutch not french
So maybe Dutch sounds French to him...
I knew it had to be afrikaans as I almost understood it since I am german ^^
In the second Norwegian clip they were talking about the sunny weather at the beautiful beach they were walking along so there was most likely sand you heard and not snow.
Star Trek Beyond is the epitome of film making! It's visual effects and make up design is outstanding and the story itself is remarkable in every way. This genius movie brought on by clever producers and excellent directors clearly set a brilliant tone for the Star Trek franchise.
We need a 'Definitions - With Nerdcubed!!!!'
I love this video because it just shows off how absolutely BEAUTIFUL other languages are
such a solid video. you had me laughing and amazed throughout with not only your incredible ability to tell what language you're hearing, but the wiki bits were hilarious.
I'm French, and that moment where Dan said "It sounded like French, I'm gonna go for Afrikaans" my reaction was "Not it did no-WHHHHAAAAAAAAAAT ?"
Sorry for bad English.
I laugh at you.
Dan you made that fucking shipping forecast joke last time aswell
Afrikaans does not sound anything like French... It sounds like Dutch. I don't know how you are still succeeding with your logic, but it is impressive.
The game itself is really fun to play along with, but your interludes make this one of your best videos!
The breaks between languages explaining something are amaizing
Did Dan make a football reference... An accurate football reference... Without it being sarcastic to football?
Though bonus points would have been rewarded for "And even Heskey scored"
God it would be fun with facecam for this video! The blank face when the voiceclip plays
Can this be a series? I love teacher!Dan.
I completely lost it at the conclusion of the English audio clip! Well done, Dan.
Please keep playing this until there is no more usable energy in the universe. Until the entropy of the universe hits zero and everything is cold and dark. Like my soul.
in the norwegian one... there was no snow only deer
"I just wanna hug the world"
It's sad that the world doesn't want to hug us back...
Snow can be found around all places of the Earth. However it is a common misconception snow is formed in the clouds. Snow is actually mass fabricated in factories in Norway. This is the largest cause of deaths in Norway through Hypothermia.
I want this to become a series. Please, Dan. Make it a thing.
"Thanks Norway, you gave us Skyrim and fucking snow" -- "You're welcome".
I just tried pinning where in Norway that was from, damn us Norwegians and our 5 billion different dialects.
Shrodinger's View is a state in which someone watches a movie, is told that a previous film of said series is better, and then doesn't watch previous film in the fear that the person is correct, thus being completely unknown to whether or not they are.
I love how simple the website is, how it gets so much traffic even though it is literally just default on everything. There is no CSS, and is almost entirely JQuery and it's pretty good.
Some tips about Scandinavian languages: Norwegian is a pretty slow pace language, and because of the scandinavian history, Norwegian, Danish and Swedish sounds very similar. Scandinavians can pretty much understand each other, even though they have a drifferent nationality
"Hope we had fun :3.... Fuck off." -Daniel Hardcastle 2017
Loved the editing, and you got the Norwegian right so that's nice!
Fucking love Dan, pissing myself at the Wikipedia bits and he's not bad at languages, then just ends it with 'fuck off' ahah :D
I loved how he chose Thai as the right language and then he did of the Wikipedia article on TIES
10/10 Blackadder reference. You nailed that one like a messenger pigeon.
"thanks Norway you gave up skyrim and fucking snow"
the best thing in the world
I am Romanian so I know what the scentence meant and... I felt ofended because it said that imigrants came from Africa and that they will be sent back to Africa in 2016.
It was an old news report.
In the second "snow = Norwegian" clip they were actually walking in sand. On a nice summer day. But oh well...
Loved the Norwegian clips XD
My heard sank when you didn't hear the Javanese speaker say 'JAKARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTA' even though you pointed it out!
The second Norwegian one was on something else than snow though because they talked about how there's a sandy beach there i believe. However i could be wrong and it actually is winter in that clip and they're talking about that place during the summer.
Source: Am almost Norwegian
I'm surprised how you could turn a simple game into something so entertaining to watch!
I am so glad this is back, the last one was hysterical
Just make a series with these type of things, they work so well with your video style/humour
I feel honored, finally Norway gets some recognition for being great!
Currently we are basically winning everything in the world championship in skiing (Except for a few russians and fins + american J.Diggins disturbing)
And i am bathing in deep snow right now!
Also those accents of Norwegian weren't the most normal ones..
PhiliThunder and swedes
I gueess a bit yes, but this year not so much
As a Finn, I'd be really cool to understand how Dan recognizes Finnish with that speed and certainty. Of course Dan probably doesn't know the technical lingustical terminology and concepts to explain it, but it'd still be cool to know what he hears in it so clearly.
I find Finnish is recognizable by it's very rhythmic cadence and the sheer quantity of vowels it likes to vomit out.
In the second norwegian thingy they were talking about: A beach next to a forest and that it is nice there.
Welcome to fun facts with NerdCubed
You think English are the fastest speakers? You have clearly never heard a man from Kerry, Ireland talking
stephen wilde i think he ment it is the slowest
It's the fastest of the slowest. ;)
You clearly haven't heard some of us Aussies speaking in informal conversations.
I think I remember hearing that most languages convey meaning at a very similar rate, so although some languages are pace slower there's more meaning in those syllables I guess?
"i hope we had fun...uh..fuck off!"
thank you. that made my day.
Hey dan, i greatly thank you for enlightening me with one of your videos. Yesterday, i just felt like death, not proper ill, just... death. But then i played bloons td5 on steam and everything wasn't that bad afterwards. So my thanks go to you
I hear my language, jeg trykker på liker-knappen
stokkulf Same, Danish represent 👍
Afrikaans actually sounds very close to dutch. It's close enough that I can almost understand what they are saying.
I want Dan to read something for an Audiobook. Don't care what, just something. His voice is really soothing when he's reading out these facts from Wikipedia
wheres jay
THE AUTOMATIC VLOGGER well what was the "part one" about then?
THE AUTOMATIC VLOGGER nope
I fucking died at "hope you had fun...fuck off!" xD
"The England-Germany football rivalry is considered to be solely an English phenomenon-in the run-up to any competition match between the two teams, many English newspapers will print articles detailing results of previous encounters, such as those in 1966 and 1990. Football fans in England often consider Germany to be their main sporting rivals and care more about this rivalry than those with other nations, such as Argentina or Scotland." Well, that's an interesting fact. I'ts also interesting how you forgot that we still have 3 more World Cups than you do :P
can this be like a mini series, these videos are great
This is probably the best thing you could say about my country, "Snow=Norwegian"
sounded like I was on a plane and getting the safety brief
M8, Australian is the fastest one. We slur all of the sentence into one word.
I laughed so much when you shouted GERMAN!!! within a few seconds of hearing the language. haha
This was quite different from your usual content but I really enjoyed it :)
me, being french: i don't understand a thing what is this?!
Nerd cubed: it sound very french!
Crastinateur Afrikaans is basically a Dutch dialect mixed in with older languages of that region and Dutch can sound a bit French now and then.
How in the bloody hell did you get that second Norwegian?! THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT BEACHES AND SAND! Goddammit Dan! The "snow" you heard was a graveled path in a forest leading to a sandy beach... I just... Goddammit Dan...
The Language Game - Where Dan can find any excuse to take the piss out of Start Trek Beyond
honestly i just want a video where dan reads the dictionary and defines word
basically dan says something or one of the languages and go's on wiki
Norwegian and Swedish are similar in sound while Danish sounds like someone speaks with their foot in their mouth. Finnish is very different from any other Scandinavian language. It is closest to Magyar, the national language of Hungary.
In norwegian thingy they said: They were talking about deer hunting.
Now I'm not sure, but I THINK Dan has seen Star Trek Beyond and didn't care much for it.
I completely lost it when the answer was Thai, he showed a picture of a clothing tie and then he read about competition ties XD
I think Dan would either get Welsh instantly or get it completely wrong.
Welsh is difficult.
-A welsh "speaker"
That moment when he read the wiki article about throbbing which was EXACTLY what I thought about that word xD
Second Norwegian one they were talking about a beach and walking on it, so sand, not snow
I wanna see nerd's reaction to French being spoken to what they are saying but written, since French only reads half the words
Why does that classroom have tennis balls under the table
SleepingStorms7 to make the chairs glide
To avoid the chair legs from scratching the floor
As someone who's watched a couple of anime I die a little inside when he can't recognize Japanese. I can't image how hard that would be (that's what she said) for full-blown otakus.
"Snow = Norwegian" *talking about sandy beaches*
The moment dan says african sounds french and not dutch. Whilst its clearly 90% dutch as i can understand it perfectly. A little part of me dies...
Luuk Hendriks
Afrikaans, not African. But I agree.
Magnus Anthun daniel zei African sounds like French. Afrikaans is de Nederlandse / Afrikaanse vertaling
i need something just like this but instead of language i need to guess setting
HOLY SHIT DAN KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT FOOTBALL
