Good review of this loco. I've been impressed with the decoration of some of the models in the Railroad Plus range and have recently bought a class 37(Comet) in BR large logo as I have a spare TTS chip left over from a LIMA project. The loco doesn't come anywhere near the level of detail of the Accurascale or Bachmann but is considerably cheaper, and it will run well on my small layout, which has 1st radius curves. The old ex Lima models whilst not totally accurate and don't have the level of detail of the newer, more expensive models do capture the look of the prototypes for me. The price of the Railroad models is creeping up like everything today but still offers value if you can get bargains from Kernow, TMC, etc. I will have to investigate the new TXS sound locos to see what they bring.
nice review, just finding out about hornby, strange is finding demos of current models, especially the sound ones
Excellent, thanks! Great, reasonable price also 👍
@@Rocketed12 thanks, plenty of good deals out, just finding them

Great video and review, layout looks good in the background. 👍
Thank you, was impressed for the price. Yes it’s lacking details buts it’s reflected in the price. Runs really well which is the most important part
@@dcb_trains I’ve been burned by Hornby one to many times, with things not working as they should. But maybe I should give them another go 🫣
@@Mapplewell_Park very hit and miss with Hornby isn’t it. I have had a couple of rubbish ones but have had a lot more that have been good
Can the volume of the train be turned down on a normal dc set up?
I believe you can on some controllers
Do you recommend the railroad range ?
