Notice most of the leaders have blonde hair can't see it when they wear helmets or those gorgeous faces but that s my opinion

One curious thing is that the Elves of Middle-Earth were rarely blonde (unlike they are portrayed in the movies). Blonde hair was the rule among the Vanyarin Elves, but the Vanyar lived in Aman (Valinor). In Middle-Earth, the Elves belonged to the Noldor, who were mostly dark-haired, or to the Sindar or the Nandor, which were branches of the Lindar (Teleri), who in general had silver hair (for sure there was some miscigenation between the Sindar and the Noldor - but hardly between them and the Nandor, or "Silvan Elves", who preferred to live in reclusion in their forest kingdoms).

I've been wandering...Why does the leader of the army not wear a helmet? Is his life less important than those of the soldiers???

This is a film convention, so you can see their faces better. But in this context: you’re not wrong. Haldir came here intending to die. See when elves die their souls go to Mandos where they can then be reincarnated. If you were good in life, in Mandos’ judgement, then you get reincarnated quicker. Haldir is evidently trying to get to Valinor as fast as possible: perhaps he has a relative he misses. He’s clearly gambling that going to the battle will be quicker than waiting for Galadriel at the Havens and then taking the long long voyage over the ocean. He not only doesn’t fear death (no elf fears death unless they’ve done something really really bad) he’s actively seeking it. He doesn’t come out and say that because he doesn’t want to freak out Theoden, but you can see that Aragorn and Legolas understand how he’s thinking.

@@golwenlothlindel I don't think there would be a Haldir's relative in Valinor. He was a Nandorin Elf, or Silvan Elf. Like the Sindar, the Nandor descended from the clan of the Lindar (or Teleri), the biggest of the three original clans of the Eldar (so that this clan had two leaders), which were the Elves who followed Oromë on the Great Journey towards Aman (Valinor) - those who refused to join the March were called the Avari, "the Reluctant" (probably there were different clans of Avarin Elves, too). But, unlike the Vanyar and the Noldor, the Lindar didn't make all the way to Aman. Instead, they decided to stay in different regions of what became known as Middle-Earth. Besides, unlike the other Elves, the Nandor preferred to live in reclusion in their forest kingdoms (Lothlórien and Mirkwood) and rarely went out. So, I think it is very unlikely that Haldir had a relative in Valinor.
