Everything looks great. You must feel good to reach this point. Congrats. Can you do a more detailed video of the stone showers and how the mesh looks? Thanks
Precious! 😂I looked for you for the whole year you left us. Yeah!!! Thanks for coming back love your house. I want to move there desperately from America
Congratulations on your new home! 🥳 🎉 🎈🎊 It is beautiful and looks quite cozy and peaceful. You both have made it just the way you like it, which is great! Now you can plant some fruit trees and vegetables. Blessings to you and your husband.
I am so so very happy and proud of you. Your journey believe or not has definitely helped my decision on whether or not to build, and building is the way for me. You have shown me realistically through your things to watch out for and/avoid altogether 😉. The home you have created is beautiful.....a masterpiece in my eyes. The bathroom and veranda... love it. I will be following up with you when I begin my home building journey. Congrats
Thank you very much. I'm so glad I've been able to guide others on their journey. That was always the point of my channel...duplicate and improve on our hits and avoid our misses.
I absolutely love it! It's not the typical design but it works!! I'm so happy for you both... I know it's been a journey but now you can breathe and enjoy the fruits of your labor👍
Love the home, but for me with the recent land purchase, I will build a two bedrooms, maybe one, for watching your building process, i got overwhelmed and sayjng maybe a container home at a location on the land. Thanks for sharing with us all
I am very happy for you. I have been a subscriber for a long time. Remember when you shipped your furniture and purchased the land. So glad you chose those windows, that my plan when I build. Love the design of the home.
Thank you very much @Sharonm6226 for your support. It has been such a long journey and I appreciate your sticking it out with me. Yes these windows are perfect for us.
I am so happy for you , watching your happiness brings joy to my soul ! Beautiful house , beautiful concept ! Wish you all the best my sister , keep on keeping on ! 😊
Congratulations on your home it's beautiful. U can get netting to cover the pond from the birds I had to do that for mine in the states .I also put a bucket in on the side where they can hide cut the bottom out so they can swim through.
Congratulations! Your home is beautiful. Completely understand the journey having just completed our home recently. Like you were working on the garden now. Thank for sharing your journey 🙏🏾
Congratulations 🎉 🎉 🎉 👏 👏 👏 This is beautiful. I am loving your home . Home is where the heart is. Building in Ghana it's not an easy journey, but the finish worth all the craziness. Now you sitting down and having a good old laugh 😂 😂 😂 you are happy. You pop up on my feed and it worth it all. I am happy I got to see it all. Thank you for sharing. You did a great job. Enjoy Shalom
😯GHANA?! We lived in Ghana also. Where are you building? We lived in Ntronoa Village in Elmina. We purchased a plot in Fihankra, but due to many issue, mainly family issues, we moved back to the States.
omg I love your house, it turned out beautiful. I know it must have been frustrated at times but it was so wort it. You are right it doesn't look like th typical jamaican house and that is good, nothing is wrong with having a unique home. I love everything about your home, its not a huge house like you siad but with how its built it makes your home looks spacious. Enjoy your home you both did very well.
Congratulations! How awesome. I love everything, especially the outdoor areas. We are one of the ones also on the building journey. We are currently having the block work done. Finding "workers" has been challenging in this phase, especially laborers. My husband is working so hard filling in for every area. At this point, I don't know if I would do it again either, but... we will see. Thanks so much for sharing your journey. It's been so helpful in keeping my sanity 😊
Thank you so much! Oh I know where you all are. It is indeed so hard to find "workers" and keep them. Not to mention you are at the slow part of the build journey. Sending you some positive energy.
It really does look like a villa! I love it. Yes, a villa is technically a house 😂 but out here it's usually for vacations. Love the design. It looks like my Pinterest inspo tabs. Right up my alley 😊
Thank you so much. It felt like 4 years. 🤣 The initial plan was to grill though we didn't want to but many people told us it wasn't really necessary in this area and many houses here are not grilled. It really can take away from the beauty of a house, particularly with out design.
This is beautiful Please ensure your security features are strong and discreet. That is not a comment on Jamaica itself but the non-traditional layout. gorgeous and relaxed.
Your house is beautiful everything is lovely. I'm presently building in Jamaica from Canada and the budget just gets higher. Very stressful building from another country thankfully we have a good builder . Love your choice of colours, windows and doors.
Thank you very much...it has been a journey. So you're building from Canada? (A country, I would love to visit one day) We were too nervous to try building without actually being here. You're so correct regarding the budget. We called ourselves budgeting well before our build and did stay in budget with some parts of the project, but it was difficult to do so considering we didn't know the cost of many things and building here is so much different from building in the States
I am also thinking about building and I love your house, I love how modern and different it is. If it’s ok with you could you share who you used to design and build your house?
congratulation on your home. after your fiasco about getting a home in Jamaica and the hurricane this summer i change my mine about moving to Jamaica and i have family near Treasure beach .Now looking more in Panama or Costa Rica.
Well, I won't deny it's been quite an uphill battle at times, but be aware your journey will have it's struggles. It's just difficult, at times, when building in any developing country, so brace yourself.
Everything turned out beautiful. Love your windows and doors. I'm building in Jamaica from Canada 🇨🇦 , soon the windows and doors are next, Love your choice of windows and doors. Can you please let me know where you purchased them.
The drainage is great and the rain just waters the plants. If there's really hard rain there can be some splatter on the tile closest to the plants but not much.
Are you in a gated community - noticed that they are no bars on the door and windows. Even in gated community I would still install bars on the doors - they are glass doors can be easily broken into :)
Not in a gated community...Love the safety of it but didn't like anything else about them.. No one in this area gates up their property. We were told it wasn't really necessary here. Our gate is solar powered with a security camera. Property is fenced and barbed wired. We also have a security system with cameras around the entire house. Now working on getting a Rottie or Pittie.
🤣🤣That's a good joke, Wayne. Tell me another one. Seriously, a lot of it is complete, but not all. Plus, the part that is complete is already showing signs that repairs will soon be needed.
There is no J'can Starlink number. All orders are done on their website. We will let Starlink know which country your system will be set up in and they will send you the appropriate kit.
Actually, my husband designed our house. We got an architect because it was required to get a proper building permit.. That said our architect is Gavin Ismay (876) 306-2909. He was also recommended by the Portland Building Dept.

Put Water Lilly in the pond so the fish has place to hide from the birds. The house is awesome. Live your dream. Congratulations of the house.
Ok, good to know. So you think that would be enough? I mean these birds go right in the pond and walk around looking for food.
I am so happy for you , watching your happiness brings joy to my soul ! Beautiful house , beautiful concept ! Wish you all the best my sister , keep on keeping on ! 😊

The outside bathroom ❤
Beautiful home, may God continue to bless you all in Jesus name.
Add Fresh water plants and rock/stone overhangs. Fish need places to hide when there's a threat.
Oh okay Thanks. I'm not sure what a stone overhang is but I'll look it up.
Beautiful
Congrats Precious. I have been watching your journey for years now from icy Chicago to Portland.
Did you really get this far in a 2 year period? that's crazy! the place is so beautiful. I also love the fact that you didn't grill anywhere!!
