Reliance Foundation Founder & Chairperson, Mrs. Nita M. Ambani, met with the visionary artist, Shri Balkrishna Namdev Kapse, whose passion and dedication to Paithani transcend mere craftsmanship. Through his tireless efforts, Shri Balkrishna Kapse has created opportunities for over 250 persons with disabilities, nurturing sustainable livelihoods and keeping the art of Paithani alive.
In an effort to protect and promote heritage artisans and the amazing traditions of India, Mrs. Ambani has been deeply involved in supporting various art forms through the years. The Swadesh zone at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre is yet another step in that direction.

She is making an effort to speak Marathi while didn't even have to, it shows how passionate she is about conserving and protecting Indian art and heritage, as a maharashtrian inspite of living in Maharashtra I have always felt being overlooked but now I feel that I've been seen and it's a great feeling.

We have known Indians who leave India opening business at foreign land . Thank God some businessman stayed at India and contributing.

I was judged once by my appearance for been a very modern maharashtrian lady by few women .One day when I draped my favourite Paithani Wore my traditional jewellery The judgement women were shocked to see me in my traditional clothing I own many paithani sarees Diff colour like pink green red in ma wardrobe I love to drape a saree I love my maharashtrian culture Thanks Nita Ambani ji 🎉for this wonderful venture We all r proud of u

Dear Nita,your effort to recognise our weaver is remarkable. I came across one of the weaver awarded by Mr. Modi , shree darshan Paithani . His designs are unique and has dream to open a unique museum com shopping place in Maharashtra for weaver , where a customer can reach to unique design and admire our heritage, without having an exponential price tag of a designer boutique. The money should go to the actual weavers, they should be appreciated. There are many such places in Varanasi. Request you to support for Maharashtra and Gujrat weavers.
We have many weavers and many handicraft unique weaves from India. Last year when I visited Delhi I went to Tata saree shop where the shop keeper explained to me the 4 types of silk we have in our country and we attribute to eg: Kanchi silk is based on the weaving style not the silk thread. Though it is labour intense work but no other country has taken this art so far like our India where is to still liked by younger generation. I make sure once a year I buy one unique handweave saree. Last year I bought venkatagiri silk, this year I will try bananas silk or tussle silk.

Great initiative by the Ambani’s. After seeing Broadway musicals such as Aladdin and Lion King I wished there were places like that in India.I hope this venue will spawn great theater work on the lines of Jaanta Raja( जाणता राजा) - on the life of Shivaji, it would be a spectacular show.
