Thanks for this vid. I did subscribe. I know nothing about this hobby and learning with little PL-330 and ever shrinking attention span in retirement. I almost got lost there initially trying to cypher how you had that thing scanning. The display showing ETM finally lit one burner in my brain and I got it. Using a long wire, in the basement with wire stretched across ceiling. But, thinking I will take it outside and play with it and that MLA 30+ antenna sounds good for future play. Thanks again and just know that some need more bridge to get what is going on. I will get there in time.
My PL-330 is with me when I travel. It’s a great radio that travels well because I can use my phone charger and it’s cord to charge it and it doesn’t take much room in my travel bag..
Ive had mine now for about a week and my initial thoughts are that it is a good radio dor the size but for listening to the airband frequencies on 8.000 using a loop or long wire where i am in rural australia it is pretty poor. Ive had several communication radios like alinco and realistic dx-400 an older radio and they both were brilliant at recieving the airband signals especially during the day. I would get my closet city airport calling on HF and New zealand during the day. And at night i would get Nadi, sanfrancisco and quam, new zealand and japan. And now i barely hear them using either long wire or loop. I have heard on 20 meters a ham operator in spain very clear and also one in new zealand and australia. Im not sure if it is just conditions here or something else cause i am in a new location 2 kilometers from my previous qth and i am up higher. Im buying a bigger receiver so i will be able to compare the bigger older one to the tescun. I have taken it on a day trip to a look out which is higher than my home and it worked well with a mobile long wire but really not a lot of difderence. Time will tell i guess
Thanks for sharing. I just bought the Tecsun PL-330 and trying to learn how to use it. I’m new to SW. I was able to pick up a few SW stations last night but not much luck during the day (I’m in the Chicago area). I see you had great success with this MLA 30 loop antenna. I looked it up and looks simple to build. Do you happen to be able to share a link to the one you purchased and how you made connections to the PL-330? Thanks-Mike
Two questions, If I take the 330 on a cruise, what options for an antenna you recommend? Any way to pump the signal out of a one of these little radios right into Bluetooth device like hearing aids or Bose head headset?? Thanks
I don’t own a short wave radio, but I’ve been enjoying pursuing the subject via the myriad UA-cam videos. My hesitation on jumping in and buying one stems from the seemingly consistent poor reception I hear in every single one of the videos that demonstrate this aspect. Is it really as bad as it sounds in these videos, or is the clarity lost in translation? Thanks.
Actually, any more simple way understand to select FM stations? It is so complex that after I watched your video but still don't know how to use PL330 etm to find FM stations?
Great little radio from Tecsun, punches way above its weight.
Out of the dozen or so SW radios I own, the PL-330 and my Belka-DSP are my two favorites, I use both daily. Thanks for the video.
Is your Belka better than the Pl-330 on SW using the same antenna? And what which one is more ergonomic? Thanks

Will be interesting to look ahead to 2022 and see what new radios are due for release as 2021 was a bumper year.

I have just purchased one too and am struggling to get to grips with it. is there a full tutorial on how to operate a Tecsun PL 330 anywhere?

Hello, I wanted to know if you prefer the PL-330 over the PL-380. Thanks for you input.
Impressive!
I need to get one of those antennas

How can one tell what firmware each radio has?
I would gladly trade my two SW portables for one PL 330.
