I'm the section leader for marching band baritones and if I played it in concert I'd probs be second or first chair but bass clarinet is my concert calling
Yes exactly! Every time i play a wrong note that every other section gets wrong, the conductor doesn't point out my mistakes but goes to the other sections instead :( I mean it's good at some point but like i do need advice as well lol :')
thank you for making your videos! I'm a euphonium player with cerebral palsy and a lot of times I struggle playing my euphonium because of it. but its people like you that make me want to work harder and strive and achieve my dream of becoming be a professional just like you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and please don't ever stop making videos!
@@josephwright3873 thank you! I wont. I've been playing for 11 years now on and off. I fell in love with it from the very first moment I started playing and I still love playing to this day!
I haven’t played a euph since highschool but always loved it and things like tuba Christmas, as soon as I graduate college I plan on getting one to have for fun and I just love it it’s such a nice sound
I can’t get enough of these past 2 videos, I’ve shown them to my friends and watched them so many times. Fantastic playing, also your chair mate seems like a fun guy :))
For our concert yesterday my school picked a piece that had a little section with me (the euphonium player) and the French horn playing a powerful part at the same time. It was insane, what a great combination.
As a trombonist seeing these videos and occasionally playing either the baritone or euphonium really makes me wish I picked to play it. Keep up the great work! Very addicting videos to watch.
The sound of euphoniums and French Horns are the best! As a French Horn player, I love playing low parts that are doubled with Euphs or Low Brass in general. It makes such a powerful Sound. I actually play both! (Definitely a better horn player though)
Nice, I've always liked the "007 Theme," but it's often forgotten in favor of the "James Bond theme" when bands decide to play music from the franchise.
Hi -- relaying a question from a forum discussion of this video -- why the change from TC to BC? I'm guessing two different pieces of music, but I wanted to get it from the source.
The farthest away euphonium player has an interesting instrument. Other than obvious exception like front-valve horns, I haven't seen another without a top wrap above the valves.
When I was in junior high I was taught how to play treble clef as a euphonium player. As I got into high school they told me that euphoniums dont play treble, so they taught me how to play bass clef. It took a while but I figured it out. Should I keep practicing treble? Or is it something you just prefer once you get to your expertise?
You 100% need both for euphonium, otherwise you'll be in big trouble once you get to professional ensembles. European euphonium players mostly play Bb treble while in USA players use bass clef. If you had to play European arrangement or piece you will likely find treble part so definitely practice both
I really miss playing euphonium. I stopped after HS because I've not been able to afford one. Are the plastic ones worth getting? I've never felt that they would sound quite right, being that they wouldn't resonate like an actual brass instrument would.
I'm a freshman in high shool and I look up to u I've been playing euphonium for 2 years and is it impressive that I can play triple Bb im really curious bc my classmates won't give me a straight answer
Zac Merideth a lot of professional euphonium players cover the parts of their instruments that their skin comes in contact with because the oils from your skin will wear away your euphoniums finish and shine overtime.
Hey I’m first chair baritone in my band.
But that’s only because I’m the only baritone!
Same!
huh. thought baritone was only for marching band
Mine’s a bell forward, it was used in the OSU marching band but now I play it for regular band.
I'm usually second part for trumpet, but i was the only second to go to first when we went from 3 part split to 2
I'm the section leader for marching band baritones and if I played it in concert I'd probs be second or first chair but bass clarinet is my concert calling
As a french hornist, this is amazing
Unfortunately the euphonium is one of the most underated instruments, they get some of the best parts but never really get recognized.
Mailbox 557 and some can’t play the parts because of the lack of separating parts
This is true.
I hate whenever people ask me what I play for this reason
Yes exactly! Every time i play a wrong note that every other section gets wrong, the conductor doesn't point out my mistakes but goes to the other sections instead :( I mean it's good at some point but like i do need advice as well lol :')
Mailbox 557 Very sadly true. 😭

Raheem Smith please don’t ever stop playing the Euphonium, you inspire me!
It won't be easy, but never give up. If you want it I believe you likely have the potential to get close to your goal.

I get that it’s a bad disorder, but don’t expect to get anything for it. You give practice and get rewarded
The result of combining both makes for an unique sound. Incredible
no one:
band teacher: gives 3rd trombones euphonium part
No one:
Teacher gives 2nd saxophonists French horn part

Keep making videos likes these ones, they are my favorite and I watch them over and over
WHENPICKLESFLY 38 same
I see you’re continuing to forget about the tuba section ¡-¡
Maybe I've got something in stock for tubas as well.. I guess we'll just have to wait to find out ;)
A euphonium is a tuba
NsG Ender The euphonium section is not the tuba section
@@imender9219 Sarcasm? Or are you that dumb...?
I was literally going to make essentially the same comment
My mouth literally dropped at the ending of the Star Wars section. So complicated! But amazing, as always!
Wow that star wars one made me cry tears of joy when i heard it another dream full filled good job 👍
Is this what the flute part looks like when transposed down?

Nice video dude. You are an amazing euphonium player. I hope one day I can be like you even though I'm a tuba player.
Same, you know with a lot of hard work we can pull of all of those parts at the same range.
Since I'm only a seventh grade Euphonium player, it's insane how quickly you can do those fingerings.
I like your fast sections. Flawless Articulation. Keep it up from the trombone section
I’m so thankful my band has 2 good horns, and 2 good euphoniums. This video is awesome!
But this... this does put a smile on my face
Thank for uploading this, it makes my day

Euphoniums sound great ☺️👍
I’m so glad now I can play both
I'm barely going off to high school, I play the Euphonium. In my opinion, this sounds amazing and I say that to every song I listen to.

The silver baritone horn player seemed familiar, until I realize that I've been following her on Instagram this whole time...
I love the French horn because I play it.
Is that @goofyeuph? Amazing all!!
Completely amazing
I play horn, this is amazing, I subbed right away
Holy shit amazingggg
As a Euphonuimist, together with the French horns nothing can stop us.
Agreed: most Dominant Band Section……
Only second to the trombones. 😜😜😜✌🏼👍🏼
Toca muito , parabéns!!
I was waiting for them to play the piccolo part in The Stars and Stripes Forever. Maybe next time.
Muiiiiiitoooo bonito!!!
Brass + percussion 😎
Remember, an *mp* on any instrument translates to *ff* on trombone score

Hi -- relaying a question from a forum discussion of this video -- why the change from TC to BC? I'm guessing two different pieces of music, but I wanted to get it from the source.
Yep, different pieces different clefs. European compositions/arrangements 90% are Bb Treble Clef, while American 90% Concert Bass Clef
Which section is your favorite??? Like, share, comment and subscribe if you enjoyed this video ;) Thanks peeps!!!
Horn is so great when the Euphs join in

Thats a baritone, not euph

The 'bone is the best brass boi
Euphonium and Trombone are the best boi
Trombones: Sad noises
are all of these from performances? how often do you perform?
Yep, all from performances. Band + other performances ends up being up to around 100 shows a year.
That’s just cause you don’t let the bass bone play out
I can't recognize the sound of the horns
Does anyone know a channel that’s like this except for woodwinds?
what euph are you playing? I'm a trombonist that doubles on tuba and euph and have been meaning to get a new euph, any suggestions?
All depends on your budget. I play Jupiter XO. Feel free to send me email with more detail and I'll give you some suggestions. Best, M
Is the euphonium like a trombone that looks like a tuba?
BaC Productions trombones have a brighter and more present sound whereas euphoniums have more of a deep, sultry, and I guess baritone sound

Stars and stripes forever makes me uncomfortable because they’re playing the trombone part and a trumpet is playing the piccolo part
As a flute / piccolo / trombone player , this is the most relatable thing ever
Edit: I had a spelling error
No Bass Cleff, Unfortunate.
Excuse me have u heard of a mad trombone player
Euan Lockie how is that relevant lol
4.20
conical bore > cylindrical
Trombones and Tubas! But better be a brass instead of woodwind.
Maybe the piccolo trumpet is playing the flute part...cause there ain't no flute in brass band
I'm a trumpet and every band I been my sections are always the strongest and the French horns, trombones, baritones, and clarinets were the weakest
That's such a trumpet thing to say :-D
@@Madchemist002 what it not my fault the trumpets in my section are always competitive and that all round tejas

TBIRD 2499 in the uk im pretty sure they use tc

ewww treble euph 😂
Matthew Miller SHH I am a rare breed
I gotta say I disagree only because you forgot all of the rest of low brass and the French horns are dominant the trumpets suck.
Why is it written in treble clef? And cant even hear the Horns.
