In recent months, he has shown flashes of glimpses and we saw just how good he can be with his excellent performance for Turkey in their opening game at the EUROs where he scored a banger from outside of the box and was MOTM. He is going to have his breakout moment at the EUROs and the world needs to take notice of him and everything about him his sublime touches dribbling ability technical skill and how he has an eye for goals he has the potential of becoming a great player and the sky is the limit for him. How Roberto Martinez should handle his workload is interesting to see because if I was in his situation managing Ronaldo whether he scores or not, let’s say that Portugal are leading by a goal and they want to see out the game by making sure that they don’t concede, that’s where he should take him off especially since having him on the field when you’re narrowly leading, you know that he doesn’t have the discipline or work rate to press and track back and in that case that’s where he should bring on an energetic forward. Besides at the age of 39, apart from scoring goals he can’t do the things that he used to do so well. When I say this I’m not trying to say that he should be dropped or that Portugal are a better team without him, what I’m saying is that the manager has to prioritize the team no matter how big a player’s name is. He combined well, shot a couple of nice shots with both legs, made an amazing backheel pass. He even moved well. The problem with Portugal was the tactics, not Ronaldo. He looks genuinely happy and motivated. Playing in Saudi lowered the level of competition he plays in, but made him happy again and ut shows. He should definitely start the next match.

Anyone who watches him wonders why there was a lot of hype and optimism around him when he made that move to Real Madrid last summer where they beat Barcelona for his signature. At such a young age, you know how good you have to be when the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid were both battling it out just to sign you.
His debut season at Real Madrid wasn’t easy because he struggled with injuries and he didn’t get a lot of significant game time when fit. He has looked very good whenever he has been on the field. When he got some minutes towards the end of the season, he was brilliant as he hit form at the right time and scored 6 goals in La Liga even though he barely played all season and one can wonder what his season could’ve looked like if he stayed fit. In recent months, he has shown flashes of glimpses and we saw just how good he can be with his excellent performance for Turkey in their opening game at the EUROs where he scored a banger from outside of the box and was MOTM. He is going to have his breakout moment at the EUROs and the world needs to take notice of him and everything about him his sublime touches dribbling ability technical skill and how he has an eye for goals he has the potential of becoming a great player and the sky is the limit for him. He shouldn’t go out on loan next season despite the amount of attackers and midfielders that they have because with the departure of Kroos, Guler should be given more minutes at Real Madrid and it’ll bode well for his development especially if he’s healthy and performs well.

Despite Portugal’s disappointing performance in a game where they won and he failed to score even though he played decently, Cristiano Ronaldo should continue starting for them at the EUROs. Against Czech Republic, it’s true that yes his performance was poor simply because he failed to score and wasn’t always at his best as he did have a couple of good moments, if you’re going to bench him or sub him out, what other choice do they have. Yes you do have Goncalo Ramos Joao Felix and Diogo Jota who can play through the middle, Ronaldo’s presence in the team is important in terms of the way that Portugal attack and create chances because in the box whenever they try to cross the ball to him, the defenders will be so focused on him he basically causes a distraction which ends up helping his teammates. How Roberto Martinez should handle his workload is interesting to see because if I was in his situation managing Ronaldo whether he scores or not, let’s say that Portugal are leading by a goal and they want to see out the game by making sure that they don’t concede, that’s where he should take him off especially since having him on the field when you’re narrowly leading, you know that he doesn’t have the discipline or work rate to press and track back and in that case that’s where he should bring on an energetic forward.
Besides at the age of 39, apart from scoring goals he can’t do the things that he used to do so well. When I say this I’m not trying to say that he should be dropped or that Portugal are a better team without him, what I’m saying is that the manager has to prioritize the team no matter how big a player’s name is. He’ll remain as a starter because he’ll find his shooting boots and we know what he can do when he has that scoring touch and that’s where you have to leave him on the field whenever you’re trailing or tying the game, you need to Ronaldo because of his scoring instincts, as I mentioned before if you’re leading and you want to defend at all costs, he should be subbed because if they drop points and don’t win after being in the lead everyone will be talking about “why didn’t Ronaldo get taken off”.

I'm a Barca and Messi fan and I'd say I hate Ronaldo. But, the man was just fine yesterday. He combined well, shot a couple of nice shots with both legs, made an amazing backheel pass. He even moved well. The problem with Portugal was the tactics, not Ronaldo. He looks genuinely happy and motivated. Playing in Saudi lowered the level of competition he plays in, but made him happy again and ut shows. He should definitely start the next match.
