I really think these are good songs, but my main problem with these singles is that they don’t reflect the way they’re performed live. Like you listen to a live recording of Fluctuate, and you just feel the song/emotion. I think a studio album should make you feel the songs just as strongly as they do live. I fell in love with those first two albums because they bring you into the world of the band with lyrics and production together. The albums will undoubtedly hit me differently from each other (as the Balcony and the Ride did) but the songs themselves should hit you with the same feelings whether they’re played live or from the album.
