  • I call this video the a Fresh Start. I tell my clients that suffers from stress plucking to make their self aware of it because, yes, clients are unaware of nervous ticks until it gets out of hand. There is no product or quick fix in the world that can fix it. We just have to become aware and take the necessary steps healing the habit Watch as I shake her hair back and get her back healthy.

    I love it when you silk press natural hair because many people swear their hair is long and healthy. She definitely needed a haircut. It looks soooooooo much better. Please don't go around say she cut all my hair off when you could clearly see she had some breakage.

    This is one of the reasons why I keep my back short. I used to pull on my hair.. since childhood. Even when I had locs. Short natural. Head wraps help as well.

    I saw a lot of comments about her edges and neck, her hair looks AMAZING, edges and neck included! I think laid edges are cute but I really like the look of ‘ regular’ edges. It goes well with that style too. You did such a good job, I’m sure she is so thankful!

    GIRL!! I am almost speechless! When I seen her hair I said what in the world is she gonna do to that?! Just being honest cuz I'm looking at videos trying to find hope for my child's hair cuz she wants a relaxer but I don't want to put a chemical in her hair so I'm looking around to see results on 4c hair being done without a relaxer and when I seen this video I was outdone. Now it's not the first time I've seen it done but her hair was so damaged and you turned it into a masterpiece! Her hair is beautiful and so is she. 😊
    I'm so glad you were able to put a smile on her face but um I need you to bring your talent to my house and straighten this child's hair out! Put a smile on MY FACE as well as my baby lol!! I'm praying I find someone as talented as yourself - great job!

    • @KrissypooHairView
      @KrissypooHairView  3 роки тому

      If it’s an internal issue, none of that will make a difference. As stated in the video, you have get your mental under control before proceeding to take external help. That’s just like getting weight loss surgery and you still haven’t fixed the inner issue and still end up gaining weight

    • @thecure3982
      @thecure3982 3 роки тому +1

      @@KrissypooHairView that's true but they can give her something to help with infection, and also medical anti inflammatory care to save what can be saved while dealing with the mental issue. Scarring alopecia can be mediated and stopped with good derm care. www.docs4hair.com and the black derm directory are good places for professional resources you can give to clients. I would like to see her get vitamin panel tests as well. Magnesium and vitamin d deficiency can make anxiety worse.

    • @KrissypooHairView
      @KrissypooHairView  3 роки тому

      @The Cure Any time clients come, as a licensed Cosmetologist, I analyze the scalp to check for any irregularities. She didn’t show signs of scarring, her hair wasn’t inflamed to be checked for infections. Sometimes we try to put so many things to treat something that is internal. Once the internal is checked and other signs show, of course, the necessary measures will be taken. But sometimes you can’t just throw everything on the issue. Sometimes you have to disect and take it at each step.

      That’s tuff ❤️, I know for my teenage client, I would make deals with her. Like she wants to get her hair colored so I told her that she has to show improvement and we’ll do the color. She’s doing a lot better. I know too, by making her aware of it and showing her how severe it was kind of woke her up a little as well. I even had to show her mom because by her doing it in the back her mom wasn’t noticing. Also with my neck pluckers I warn them as well that if they keep plucking that I’ll have to pull out to clippers and lower the neck to where that can’t pluck. Clipping it( basically an undercut) really helps as well

    Unsure if I'm considered a stress "plucker" but I definitely scratch certain areas ALOT.

      Yes that can cause scarring on your scalp. Also it’s like having a stress spot. Mine is in the center. Be careful because you can loose hair in that area. Peppermint oil is a big help for that

      @@KrissypooHairView yes I have noticed hair loss in one of the areas. I'll look into the peppermint oil. Thank you

    I stress pluck
    Been doing it since I was 10 years old.
    Started out once in blue moon.
    48 now and it’s consistent everyday all day now.
    Thank god I have a lot of hair and it’s thicky thick.

      Hopefully menopause doesn’t change the state your hair in the future. If you can catch a hold of it, it’s never too late. Sometimes we only make a move when it’s too late and I done seen it too many times.

    I'm confused as 2 y no one uses the blow dryer comb attachment anymore? I went to the shop 2 set appr and asked how they dry hair and girl said with a brush too. I cancelled and left. No extra time to waste time when she can use the comb attachment.

    • @KrissypooHairView

      The comb attachment is not as effective when straightening your hair, compared to the denim brush, for me. From my experience, the comb attachment is more solid and the denim brush has flexible bristles that move with the hair. The denim brush has much more weight to it which aids in (evenly) detangling the strands. The only time I use the comb is when a client has a tender damaged scalp, but the the comb out becomes more tedious and the client is in more pain. Which adds to time with the blowout process, but even after I use the comb attachment, I follow with the brush to smooth it out. But the number 1 reason I use denim brushes over comb attachments is the fact that it’s doesn’t get your scalp completely dry which causes an unsuccessful blowout, the hair tends to revert back. Now the main time I do use it is when I’m prepping the hair for a protective style,natural hairstyle, if I’m just wanting the hair to have some stretch to it.
      To sum it up, for me, the comb attachment doesn’t smooth the hair out prior to straightening like the denim brush does, which in turn will risk the chance of you using more heat with the flatiron which in turn will increase your chances of getting heat damage. All in all the technique that I personally use hasn’t caused damage.
