Watercolor embroidery has got me completely hooked - it's an aboslute joy to be able to realise your vision in this mixed media form. One of the huge benefits is that watercolor goes much quicker than to use threadpainting for adding color to your handstitching. Hence, it makes it a very stimulating and fun element to experiment with - I highly recommend you to try it out!

Thank you Vlado! Happy to hear from you
OMG 👏👏👏
So beautiful and relaxing!!!! It inspires me ♥️♥️♥️ I have a question: Which fabric are the best for painting??
That depends on how much you want the paint to bleed on the fabric! The best is to try on different that you may have at home. I prefer cotton fabrics personally. Recommend to have light fabrics as the colours come out very differently on a coloured fabric :)
This is really beautiful and since I love both watercolor painting and embroidery, I’m going to have to give it a try. Thank you for the link to your post about combining watercolor and embroidery, it was very helpful. One thing I’m wondering: I would assume that one should wait for the painting to dry before starting to stitch but in the video it appears as though you maybe didn’t? Is that true? I only ask because I am a bit of an impatient person when it comes to waiting to move forward on a project, and it would be wonderful if I could start stitching right away after painting if I’m in an artistic flow. 😁
Hi Elisabeth! Sorry for not seeing your comment sooner - I did indeed start stitching right away without waiting for it to completely dry, I’m also impatient for creative projects haha! You just got to be extra careful to not pull too hard as the fabric is extra fragile while wet. And be sure to use floss that don’t color off
@@CharlesElin thank you! I'm glad I'm not alone in being impatient, lol. It's one of my biggest challenges with painting--I love watercolor, but I hate waiting for the layers to dry. :) So excited to try this technique! I have a few holiday gifts planned....
Cam i add water color to my name embroidery hoop. Would it be sticky?
Can u plz tell which fabric it is
Can you add the watercolour after you stitch?
It depends on the type and colors of your embroidery floss! With black floss you can add the paint after because it doesn’t absorb it but other colors may be more risky
Lovely 😊, but how do you fix the watercolours so that they do not fade or wash out.
Personally, I haven't had problems with fading so far and I don't wash my art pieces so washing out hasn't been a problem - Haven't tried to use watercolor on clothing or anything like that, so I imagine that would be different ofc. That said, I know we have many in the community that applies a fabric medium to solidify the paint afterwards, so that's the best tip I can get! :)
How did you know where you were putting the stitches. I can’t see a pattern transfered
I didn’t transfer any pattern I just embroidered by free hand looking at a photograph and making it up as I went 🤗
