Thanks for the visit and the comment. Both cats have appeared (univited) in my videos, but Sox is the worst video-bomber. Cheers, Keith

A fun point and shoot is that! Nikon enjoyed making point and shoots for folks who just wanted to take holiday snaps and party photos.

It even leaves a bit of the leader out when it has rewound! I enjoyed it Jim. Cheers, Keith

Not bad for a small investment, especially with a film included (expired film is going for silly money at the moment). I also see the method in your madness, Keith, getting the Mrs involved sounds like a great plan to justify more cameras/photography gear. Looks like you got another good clean off the cat again 😂.

It looked interesting so I had to have it. When I had finished my roll I was surprised to find the film had about half an inch of the leader out, which makes it so much easier to get on the reel in the changing bag. The film that came with the camera had the same amount of leader sticking out so I strongly suspect it has been exposed. I'm not interested to find out by paying to have it developed (it's Bonusprint colour). Sox is making me think I have too much salt in my diet. Cheers, Keith

Nice video and nice shots, and the sharpness is perfectly acceptable. A nice bargain buy, I wonder what Nikon were charging back in the day for that camera?
Incidentally, you can develop that old film in B&W chemicals to give you some idea of what it contains, the results will be grainy, but it's good to see what someone left for posterity.
I've just subscribed to your channel, being an "Oldun" from Durham.

Thanks for the comment and the Subscribe, George. I may develop the film or I may just use it to demonstrate loading a film on to a reel if I decide to do a "Develop Your Own" video. I was interested to see how a Nikon consumer camera performed and I wasn't disappointed. Cheers, Keith

Just to be morbid ... grave records. If there's a cemetery office they should be able to tell you which section and aisle the grave is on (eg F2 or D4) if you have a name and an approximate date of death. Failing that its amazing how much gravediggers know. There's always a gravediggers hut in a 'public' cemetery. I was looking for my Great, Great, Grandfather's grave from the late 19th century on a wet Sunday afternoon. The gravediggers spent an hour walking around the old part of the cemetery with me, took me to the gravediggers hut, gave me a cup of tea, opened the filing cabinet and went through the old records hand written with grubby fingers, never digitalized, and picked out the right name, then walked me back over and even though there was no no gravestone, pointed at a depression in the ground and said 'its that one'.

Cheers Iain. The main purpose of the visit was to try the camera so I wasn't too disappointed, but I will do my research before the next visit. Cheers, Keith
