- Eric "Pink Panther" Taylor has toiled long in the vineyards before reaching the pinnacle of calypso success.

when Panther first tried to launch his professional calypso career during an audition at the Calypso Revue tent in Port-of-Spain in 1983. Then Revue tent manager, Jazzy Pantin, now deceased, listened to Taylor's offering, a song titled "Why We Ketchin We Tail," he his marching orders.
The tent was started in 1964 by businessman Leslie Lucky Samaroo. Since that time the name, ownership and management has changed on numerous occasions. In an earlier time the Revue was called the Strand Revue,
The Calypso Review, the Trinidad Review; Kitchener's Revue and over the past few years, the Kalypso Revue.
