Hate the smaller planes landing in crosswinds, don’t know why they use them on busy routes. Aer Lingus would be my go to airline but not to BHX because of the plane used. 40 years of flying regularly to Birmingham I have had a few bad landings ( especially in January for some reason. )
Crosswinds happen on non busy routes as well!!! Wind from West at tBHX can be fickle due to buildings causing wind current disturbances..and they hve built a few on the old terninal site over the yeras. The old customs hangar on the old terminal nearest 33 threashold was the cause of wind shearr for years
I would still be less nervous in turbulence on a large plane than a small one, I go on them to small airports with no problem and they are very safe and comfortable but I make my choice when I can. I don’t clap though when we land 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ps I don’t mind a go around though and have been on two occasions, and have had a jumbo have a burst a tyre on landing in Delhi, after horrific turbulence over the Himalayas. We can expect Birmingham to have more windy conditions because it is higher above sea level than a lot of cities its size . ( I love Brum it is my birth city)xxx it is
I was crew on it. Cross wind caught us just as we touched down…
It was spicy AF
wow enjoyed the stream today Kev, thank you!
Thank you so much John for joining us today , especially being the weekend , when a lot of people are busy 👍
The ATR has quite a narrow wheel track on the mains , so it's easy to get them crossed up in even a light xwind .
Another great stream today
Thank you so much Jill , really pleased you enjoyed todays stream 👍
Shouldn't laugh, but I couldn't help it! Glad they got down safely second time around.
that was the first time I saw Aer Lingus go round
You said hello, he said goodbye 😅
Someone should do a song about that😊
🎶 I don't know why they said goodbye , i say hello 🎶
crazy landing and at the start it looked like there as a missing gear
I'd been kissing the ground if a passenger, still happened to catch the A380 on the taxiway on the first attempt lol😊
Great Catch 🛩️
Thank you RLVIDEOS 👍
It's always exciting to see a prop battling the crosswinds Kev. I know it's not so much fun for the passengers 😅
Thanks Bobo , i wouldn't fancy being on a prop in crosswind 🤣
@@AirportAction 😂
Wow! Glad I wasn’t on board! ☘️

@@AirportAction Dicey!

Good pilot
Well said Carol 👍
Oooh, scary! Not what you want 😳

Maybe small but 90% the get the job done..
I mean an A380 has go arounds too. It’s nothing to do with small planes ☺️
