He is really cute look at those long ears!
Rightttt
Oh wow, did she ever go fast. POPPY did awesome. Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks for watching!
I love his roommate , very cute!
So cute
Donkeys seem more engaged with their babies than horses. That wad a quick delivery 😊
I think it is because they are more “instinctual” in their behaviours than horses. Where horses have had that bred out of them you want it in donkeys because they are used as livestock guardians.
My goodness, your hands are so busy with babies! I realize it’s your expertise but my goodness how do you stay on top of cleaning the stalls, pre-and post birth and making sure the babies are all healthy, that’s quite the job, and it appears to be a crew of three in the videos? you all are very accomplished and efficient.
I appreciate how much you share. Thank you much
Luckily we have lots of helpers and volunteers. We try to have 3 at least each birth. As things can go sideways very quickly. It’s a full time job caring for the mums and their babies
Omg he's adorable 🥰
Rightttt
I my opinion, the cutest animal babies, as far as brand new just out of the womb, are mini Nigerian goats, and donkeys. WAYYYY to cute. Congrats!
Baby goats are pretty cute. But sooooo loud hahah
I rather watch this than TV any day. So relaxing and educational.
Thank you for sharing. Sure, does my heart good. ❤
Glad you enjoy it!
Beautiful little (Jack) boy🎉 cactus jack totally adorable
🥰
Thank you for sharing, he's so adorable. Poppy you did great❤
Thanks!
I think he is a real bundle of cuteness!
Right?
Aloe wants to see her new brother - wants to play - sooo so cute ❤
She is an active little one!
@@meadowbrookstables Little Miss Aloe Vera was not going to be ignored- she was going to make sure everyone was able to fully appreciate her fabulousness - The Aloe Vera Show coming soon to a town near you - lol
Poppy you had such a little guy! Very cute !
Thank you 🤗
Cactus Jack is an awesome name for the little guy. Lol. Love these vids.
Glad you like them!
If only all foalings were like that😊
Right?!
When the milkbar hangs so low it's hard for a little guy to get near it ❤
Rightttt
MBS, you're under attack by cuteness!! LOL 🤣 Aloe getting the zoomies in the stall while you're trying to film Cactus, my Lord!! That was funny!! Watching this on my lunch hour. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
She wanted it to be the “Aloe” show haha

Glad you like them!
Nice , quick and easy. 🥰
The best ones!
Your roommate has a cute little grey one . Are you completion to have the cutest one !
🥰
He keeps falling poor guy !
Hard work being born.
Goodness that little jack is doing all kinds of gymnastics and tumbling trying to find his leegs
They sure do throw themselves around!
The hay is tripping him up !
Unfortunately everything trips them up when they are born with slippers on their feet and are only a few inches from the ground 😬
Blessings
🥰
My babies were so small at birth my daughter was only 6lbs 4 oz.. my sister had twins and both were over 61/2 lbs each.. I can’t even imagine !!
And just think about how big the horse foals are 😬
How did the alarm know she was in labor?. Beautiful donkeys. Babies are sooo cute.
There's a magnet in the foal alert and when the hooves push through, it seperates to both sides, causing the alarm to go off ^^
Exactly what Puffin said :)
Could you post a video of all mommas and babies in turn out? ❤Thanks cant get enough of babies 😂
We love got some in our Members Section - they are so stinking cute!
Cactus Jack. Could be cute name !
That is what we picked!
I love the name cactus jack
🥰
I’ve never seen donkey births until these last three which were wonderful to watch but it seemed to me that they were faster labours than horses and the foals seemed to get up faster too. I don’t know if it’s because they don’t have to contend with such long stick legs!!🤣 I may be wrong about all this! Just an observation. ❤️❤️❤️
The closer to the ground an animal is the quicker they find their legs has been experience. Lambs are up in no time, same with kids, donkeys would seem to be next then calves a bit later than that and horses the latest.
Someone is making an announcement!
😅
Dash would be fitting for him, seeing he came so quick.
Cute name - but owners wanted to stick to desert plant themes :)
AWWW LOOK 👀 Ain’t Nature Grand ??
🥰
Are you going to do a video on the MILT or FOAL BREAD that you found, MBS? That would be another great teaching video I could use!! Thanks in advance!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer, who's a bit stiff right now, LOL 🤣 from Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
I do have a good video of the hippomane I need to get up!
That would be great, MBS!!! Thank you!! Your friend, Jenn 💖
Chatter is at it again!
😂
But the little guy is wearing it!
😅
The custest little bobblehead! And one tough umbilical cord! Hope there was no damage done by the placenta being dragged out of that poor jenny!
A price did stay inside but she did clear it a few hours later thankfully.
@@meadowbrookstables Phew!
I would also vote for the name, cactus, or cactus jack
That's his name, CJ in short ^^
🥰
Now all you need is a Sagebrush! Does the ears not coming up indicate a problem?
Not at all ^^
We will add the name to our list. No we just like marking when the ears come up because it’s cute haha
Video is too much flickering. Better always take a Holder for the camera. - bnm - 6/9/24 - Sunday
Unfortunately when you are there by yourself and woken up in the middle of the night I didn’t think to grab my tripod.
I thought she.still had his legs under her!
Nope - all good :)
That stall looks like it hasn't been cleaned in at least two to three days. If a baby is going to be born in it don't you think it should be cleaned at least once a day?
Unfortunately, donkeys and horses pass a lot of manure when they’re in first stage labour because they are cleaning out their entire tract as contractions start so this donkey would’ve been cleaned at 11 o’clock at night and foaled at 6 o’clock in the morning so yes, there was a bit of time between when the stall was last mucked when the donkey foaled, this is normal, cause we don’t go out and interrupt them all night to clean their stall, but we get out the manure as quickly as possible.
Stalls are cleaned several times a day when they are indoors when they’re outside for the day, we clean their paddock several times, but we do not muck them several times overnight.
What do u do with the baby donkeys, do u sell them after they are weaned?
The owner is probably going to keep them for herself, unless she wants to decrease her herd size in the future😊
They belong to a client. We foal them out for her - so she’ll get to pick if she is keeping or selling.
Do Donkeys ever have twins. I know horses do but never seen twin baby Donkeys.
You'd never see it because it's so dangerous for all involved, most if not all of the time it ends fatally😔
Twins are very bad in any equine and should be avoided at all costs. Donkeys can have them as well but usually they would abort before term.
Is this the last donkey or is there 1 more?
There's Lily left to go ^^
1 more!
Yet again, another mother giving birth in a box! It really y saddens me to see these poor animals trying to give birth in such small quarters and with humans intervening, being loud. She should be outside, on the soft grass, being able to walk around in a big open space, the only sounds are of birds and such, cleaning off her own baby, bonding with her baby with no interference from any humans, the first face to be seen by the baby is its mother not some scary lookin, loud, human touching, poking, pulling at it. 😢
These are domesticated animals. Not wild. They are foaled out in a stall (which is plenty big) for their safety. As outside there are predators (we have coyotes). Also we don’t have grass all year round a lot do the time we have snow banks (so really not ideal to foal in a snow bank for the foal to freeze to death). We care about our animals so we want to be there for their birth - we had several this year the foal and maybe the mare would have died had we not been there 🤦🏼♀️
Pardon my ignorance but, are donkeys bred for pets?
Mini donkeys 100%cuteness, but donkeys make great guard animals for a herd of sheep or cows ^^
@@dancingpuffin8936 oh my! I never knew that. . They are beautiful. I wish I had space for one. 🤗
Mini donkeys basic purpose in life is to be cute. They aren’t really big enough to be livestock guardians and can’t be ridden. So just cute haha
Yeah, donkey foals are adorable, Llama calves not... so much.
Oh really? Why is that?😮
We have alpacas crias coming soon! They look like aliens haha
Is mom sitting on Sonny”s back legs ?
Nope they were inside for a little bit then just behind her hip.
