Im so glad i came across your video as i had the same feelings while reading but in all other youtube review videos everyone's just praising this novel and i ws not able to relate at all!!! I thought as well the ending was abrupt, the effort taken in building up the suspense was so much more than the ending and halfway through the book you start to relate and understand the story ...until then its extremely boring...i wasn't shocked either with the revelations but was all in all it ws an ok ish read...thanks a ton for the right true review

I think the name of the character, Caroline, is only mentioned once. I didn't like both main characters eiither. I didn't like when Max made is wife stupid. Or how she reacted or rather she didn't react when she found out he killed Rebecca. And after the cancer phase i stopped. It was to much for me.

The prose was great and the atmosphere creepy! It was slow imho.

I watched Rebecca today and I'm so glad I didn't push myself to read the book. I dnf'd three times...
