  • This video shows you how to install a set of Rock Tamers which are a well-designed mud flap for your tow vehicle or just a way to accessorize your truck.
    You'll need to know what size coupler you have on your tow vehicle. You can measure this by checking the inside diameter measurement of the hitch where you put your tow ball. There are three standard sizes: 2", 2 1/2", and 3" (" means inches). Most standard trucks are a 2 1/2" and the larger diesel trucks are often a 3-inch like the F-350 in this video.

    Man Ive had mine for years. So many guys stop me here in SC and ask about them. I bet I've sold many many sets for that company. Definitely saves your boat.

    Make sure everyone knows it’s 3-4” from the ground that you set the mud flap length WITH Vehicle attached to camper… AKA loaded with tongue weight. Some trucks drop 3-4” just when attaching trailer, wouldn’t want these dragging on ground.

    Ok, so that height that you mentioned, is that the final height with the full weight in the truck? Currently I have mine just a hair off the ground with the full weight and trailer attached and I noticed a have a ton of rock chips on the lower portion of my trailer now. Is it because I'm set too low?

      In the video, I set it with no load on the truck. When we tow our 5th wheel, we’ve not noticed any chips on our camper and I’m sure it squats the truck a little more. As long as the flap is covering your back tire, then I wouldn’t think you’d be too low.

    will that affect your bumper sensors?

    • @KyleCortianaFishing
      @KyleCortianaFishing  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes it definitely can. It often makes ours beep when backing up so we have to turn off the backup sensor if we don’t wanna hear it beeping

    Can you go through an automatic car wash with them

    • @KyleCortianaFishing
      @KyleCortianaFishing  3 місяці тому

      That’s a great question. Since it’s a dually, automatic car washes are typically not accepting of the extra rear tire. Therefore, we’ve never tried and I can’t give you an accurate answer.

    My back alarm is in the way not sure what to do

      Ya it does that in our F350 as well and is a little annoying to toggle off each time. Maybe there’s a setting to turn it off permanently. I know my Tundra can do that.

      @KyleCortianaFishing you can roll the flaps back away from the bumper or just turn off the sensors never had them before I'm sure I'll live without them just watch where your going

    Been hammering these Holes and nothing happens. The press tool it came with is dull. This video you barely hit it and they punch out. About to drill it

      😂 I recall having to hit it pretty hard with a hammer but probably didn’t show it all in the video. I relate completely to your struggle with the hole punching
