I come back to this video over and over. This bride so strongly resembles my beautiful sister in law, who passed away of a brain tumour at age 23 and just on the cusp of her own engagement. We never got to have the wedding dress shopping experience with her, but she’d have looked every bit as stunning as this bride does, I’m sure.
How terribly sad. I am so sorry for your loss.
Oh, what a tragedy! People should all be able to live a long life and see their dreams come true. So sorry for your loss. Your brother/husbands brother must be just devastated to go through that so young.
You're turning me straight Rachel. I DIED!
If he can get turned on by a woman than i think he is bi. He needs to be honest😂
Pink Heart it was just a joke😂I don’t think he is actually attracted to her lol.
Shes my old teacher i fucking just found this
AceLovesDIYs Christopher haha yeah that was funny
That line was too predictable and pathetic
I hate that the UK version never respects the budget of the bride. What's the point of asking if they're not sticking to it?
Roberta Tavares exactly !!!!
I actually find it the opposite. American version is usually very over budget whereas UK is more budget friendly.
Very true, or at least ask the bride if the budget is a bit flexible before showing her a beautiful dress. It is not fair in anyway for the customers. Disrespectful.
More offensive that it wasn't the bride's budget, it was grandma. Grandma is a senior citizen on a fixed income and they took advantage of her wanting to see her granddaughter have a beautiful gown. That being said, the bride should have respected grandma's budget as well, and not put the dress on.
They do this occasionally in the Irish version, too, but they mention the higher price point before the bride tries on the dress rather than afterwards. That to me is more ethical.
I understand her wanting to please her grandma. I do think it’s nice that even though the grandma didn’t like the first she’s offering to buy a new one 👍
Grandmas are the best! So of course, grandma's opinion is super important!
Poor granny how can they make the bride fall in love with a dress that's over budget? Ofc grandmothers will do anything for their granddaughters, putting her on the spot like that, that's taking advantage of her. You need to respect the customer's budget.
At least they warned the bride before she tried the dress on, but even then it's a bit shady because she's already said she liked it...
I'm not so sad about the granny, I don't like that the dress us over budget but she went to buy a second dress only because the granny didn't like the first one while the bride did, so kind of her fault.
Lower budgets usually are accompanied by expensive taste
It was rude why did you let her try a dress over budget
@Em AllBlueHearts true
This bride is so beautiful. Has a classic beauty vibe✨
Beautiful bride and a lovely family!
Even though the UK version is notorious for putting brides in gowns over their budget, this consultant was upfront about the dress being over budget. Yes, the consultant shouldn't have showed it to her in the first place. But, the bride decided to try it on despite knowing it was expensive even though she wasn't even the one paying for it.
the bride is soooo beautiful i fall in lve with her eyes n smile...n she has adorable family n friends
The grandma is everything shes so cute omg. Watching her get emotional made me emotional
Aww,grandma was amazing!!!
Grandmothers r so adorable n actually m closer to my grandma than my mom.. Love u aita..
She’s an absolute sweetie!!
Listen to Randy
"Why shop outside the budget when you can get a lot of dresses under their budget"
Like seriously respect them
When I went wedding dress shopping, I was so scared that they would go over my budget because wedding dresses are too expensive and we still have to pay for the tax, veil and shoes! They really must not go even a tiny bit over budget because what if the bride doesn't really have the money!!?
They were all correct, that dress looked better but the first dress wasn’t bad. She just needed to shop around. Her fam and friends are pretty awesome too.
She looked lovely in both dresses. But #2 was more sophisticated and seemed to suit her more. Even I got emotional when she put the veil on!
She is sooo beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Awwwwwwww, I want that Granny!
She looks georgeous in the dress
Paying it or not... and appreciating there will ALWAYS be a nicer dress, I don't understand why non-brides need to get involved when it is not their day.
Best video ever of say yes to the dress just because of grandma💕
I like it when they started to cry..make me want to cry also..😢😢
at 1:05 the lady laughed without smiling :'D
The Bride is adorable.
I hope they have a sign in front of their Showplace stating : "We've got thousands of dresses, but have only two frumpy dresses priced below £3,000.00 (they'll be hideous and are actually worth £150.00. Together.) Everything else's going to be a budget-killing nuclear missile. Enter at your own risk."
beautiful bride she looks so lovely n grandma is so loving I loved watching this video..
I agree about the budget. And why did the consultant only try one additional dress besides the one the bride already has? 🤔
The 1st dress is soo beautiful
I worked In a small boutique bridal shop with waaaay less dresses than this and we never put a dress on a bride that was that far over budget unless she absolutely insisted. How can you not find a dress within budget with a similar look in that sea of dresses??
OMG what a price to pay for an item that will be worn only once!
The grandmother already had her day as the bride, jeez 🙄😑
It’s her granddaughters day, it’s the granddaughter who already paid for her own dress but the grandmother wants her to waste money on a new dress that is supposed to pay for the venue in the budget, the catering, the flower arrangements, photographers, music, the officiant, uh hello 😑
Budget, budget, budget.
Lovely granny
Beautiful
Couldn't they have found a dress in her budget? I know this is edited, so maybe they didn't show her trying other dresses, but c'mon making Granny go 595 pounds over, not cool.
Watching this I always find when they have a budget they go over, but an unlimited budget it's often under 2k
Ya’ll it’s called UPSELLING. Most consultants are going to suggest a dress over budget because they make commission on the sale. And even if they don’t make a commission, they are increasing the stores profit. Be FIRM about your budget and refuse to try on any dress over budget. I think women get overwhelmed and forget the consultant is helping them, plus they want to be agreeable. Being agreeable get you a dress that you love but is unaffordable.
The original dress is beautiful
I bet ‘me and my grandmother are really close so that’s why I can’t have the other dress’ is code language for saying ‘my grandmother is paying so she had to like the dress’
Aawe that was so much better her figure was fab in the new dress
You look beautiful and your family are darlings. Best of luck to you both💜
I really do like the first dress
'...can't wait to marry him'😇
The silhouette of the first dress was better tbh. The bottom on the second was too wide
her original dress is really beautiful... if i were her i would just not care what my family said!
I wish my grandma was still with me so I could eventually go wedding dress shopping with her
"I don't want to look fat or fatter" laughing
What a healthy attitude, if somebody told me something made me look "fatter" I would drive myself crazy obsessing about how fat I am then possibly kill myself 😂
Respect 👏 the 👏 budget 👏
I think she looks beautiful
5:23 😍
I always wonder if there’s more behind the scenes than we know and after a few tries or the bride browsing herself they somehow arrive at the expensive dress rather than just being cheeky and pulling it out first? You know, for TV drama. Coz if not.. then they are thick!
I think the first dress was lovely in it, but she didn’t look completely happy about it and that’s what really important.
Grandma was right that the top portion magnified her arms.
Could they have removed the top part for thinner straps. I'm sure they could have plus would have been alot cheaper.
Sell the first dress and give the money to granny to help cover the difference in cost.
I'm a Ghanaian and the meaning of the maid of honor's first name is Christmas
Grandma is not holding back
If showing her something over budget wasn't bad enough, she actually lied about how much over budget it was. £500 is not £595. It's basically £600 over and £100 isn't a small amount of money for most people so really shitty of them to downplay that to make it sound not as bad.
Why ask about budget if you’re gonna ignore it and then have the bride fall in love with a dress she can’t have.
It was SOOO wrong to put the gran under that pressure, she may not have been able to afford it, but would she let her granddaughter down? of course not!
I have seen this consultant do this over and over again-go over the bride's budget! Every time I think I have seen her she never stays within the brides budget. I don't know what it is about her but it really bugs me.
I know every comment is talking about how its always over budget but is no one else bothered about how she literally lied about how much over budget? She said £500 over. Its £595 over. If we're gunna round it to the nearest 100, why round it down to 500 instead of being honest and saying 600. £95 may not seem like a lot to this money grabbing boutique, but if a bride has been saving and saving, and you already put her in something over budget (with our without the brides consent), an extra suprise £95 could make the difference whether she can afford it. Totally irresponsible. This boutique may think this show is good advertisement for them, but all is does it reflect poorly on them.
I don't see that much of a difference between this one and the one she bought...not sure if the £3000 was worth it
someone get that granny a stool, her feet don't touch the floor!
okay two things 1) if you have a budget NEVER go over unless the customer ask.. 2)sell the other dress make up the difference and 3) sorry but nope nope nope don't take that sort of money from your elderly nanna, i have two elderly parents and i know the pension isn't that good.
don't pull a dress that is overbudget...what is WRONG with these salespeople???
Why do the consultants always fine dresses over budget. In the US, consultants finds dresses that are in budget or lower. I find this UK version so crazy with the budgets.
5:24 Wow 🤩 😍🎯.
The new dress looks basically the same as the old one except lower cut in the front.
And the first dress off the rack is more than “just a little” over budget. Ridiculous & disrespectful.
I agree with grandma the first one was actually quite unappealing. But a lot of brides choose yuck wedding dresses.
Birtish girl is so pretty 😍
It may be over budget ..but maybe it's about getting the ryt one
The dress she came in with was pretty, but it wasn't HER dress. The dress she chose was HER dress. She looked absolutely stunning. She was glowing.....but you could see HER beauty.
Grandma is right
What's the point of asking them of their budget if you don't follow it? Triggered
I don’t know if this is just me but I think I like the dresses in the Say Yes to The Dress UK than in the other countries. What are your thoughts guys? I find the appointments better too.
why put a bride in a dress that is overbudget, when they are already purchasing a second dress. Rude!!
The UK version doesn't respect the budget at all. Where the budget is unlimited they show dresses for 1000 or 2000 and when the budget is set they always tend to go over the budget.
Why can't they find a dress within the brides budget. There are perfectly lovely dresses within her budget that they just didn't show her
Its same as 1st one
This is my primary school teacher
I don't understand stand why she didn't alter the first dress with some pretty or sparkly straps, seamstresses are basically magicians!
The queen of overbudget consultant
Is anyone not gonna talk about how annoying it was that she bought another dress instead of talking about the budget!? Yeah that sucks but the dress matters too. :(
So what we're learning from this show is: it doesn't matter what the budget it, they're gonna show them dresses that cost the exact same amount every time anyways. If your budget is 5000£ you're gonna walk out with a 2000£ dress and if it's 1200£ you're gonna walk out with a 2000£ dress. Every time
What’s with the cap sleeves??
The consultants go over budget...because I'm pretty sure they make more money this way. As annoying as it is, as the consultant if you can bump each bride up a bit that means more $$$ for the business, or commissions.
Its the bridal business its all about making money !
Its not although the best approach interms of respecting the Bride or customer service...as I believe they ask the budget also so they have some idea where to start at least. Even if they go beyond it..
Plus its like, " this is what paying a bit more will get ya !".
If you don't like then why are you watching it. Its a show
They should start their budget at $100.
I’m Hospice NURSE by trade,
ID GIVE MY ARM TOO WORK AT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL JOB!!! I love these videos 💞🥰💕😍💘!! Most often they end up HAPPY🙌🏽😊👰🏼👸🏽
Why do they put something that is overbudget? I just feel bad.
Love the second
The number one rule in customer service when there is a budget is: Don't put the person in something that is OVER budget!
It's like forcing them to spend more money than they have. There's a reason why people have a budget. Don't put them into something they might love but can't afford!
my busy life I’m guessing it was probably a case of “this is the closest thing we can find to what you’re looking for, at the lowest price.” Or it was just pre-decided that grandma would go over budget if needed and the producers just want to make it look like the perfect dress made grandma spend more lol.
my busy life exactly !!!
Not on reality tv it isnt.
They do this is real life aswell tho when i was shopping they put me in a $4000 dress and my budget was 1000
Kind of like a car salesman... " I know you said that you have a Kia budget but you should test drive a Tesla".
ok ignoring all the budget comments..
“you’re turning me straight rachel” really got me 😂
What's the point in saying/asking a person's budget then .
Not nice...
Yeah so rude
I bet shes going to let the grandma pay up to the budget she listed and then pay the difference herself
@@victoriaharris3113 sounds good 👍👍
@PallMall Potus But that's the thing, people sometimes fall in love with a dress without even trying it on, just by looking at it. So I agree, It's rude and it happens way too often in these type of shows
@tillierose **
And couuurse they fall in love with it. Lol
All in the name of reality tv eh . 😬😬😄
These people really annoy me sometimes... if it's over the budget then why show the customer?? It's just downright cruel to make a customer fall in love with a dress that's over their budget. If it was like 20 pounds or whatever over then fine, but 600??
fyi: I get that it's to con them to pay more money or to make more drama for TV, that's a rhetorical question before some smart-ass comes and answers.
I agree with you, why show a dress they may not be able to afford.
+N Rogers exactly. And if in the end the bride cannot afford the dress, then she will feel disappointed with the cheaper option she buys and won't be as happy on her special day.
Because they might not be able to find the right dress without going over budget
Allison Hunter Now it sounds as if you give excellent retail service!
Any extra 600 pounds....35% over budget. That’s not good at all.
I have a similar figure to this bride, and look great in some necklines/sleeve styles and bad in others. That straight neckline with cap sleeves wouldn’t do a thing for me, either.
I agree with you. Its cruel of them to do that.
"What doesn't your Gran like about this dress?"
"She's not keen on the colour"
It's white...
The collar
andréanne G.B Oh my god, thank you for saying that! I didn't understand that at all and I was a bit confused (English isn't my first language so I really wouldn't have gotten it alone).
andréanne G.B I'm petty sure she did say colour
Have you ever been wedding dress shopping? Do you know the amount of "whites" these dresses come in
@@JamieJosef yeah I didnt watch it twice, I was sure she said collar because it would've made more sense but watching it again she did say color for some reason 🤷♀️🤷♀️
"Yeah, that top is no good, the skirt is perfect"
*ends up getting a dress with a similar top and different skirt*
I felt the same way. I didn't understand why they like the second one than the one they already purchased. Both have similar top lace.
Facts
I felt granny was right first one was making shoulder broader but not the second one
