    I just replaced the headlights on my sister in law’s Toyota (276,000 miles!). I used your video and was 100% successful! Thank you. I felt so satisfied when I was done. Could not have done it without your video!

    Great video. By now many (most?) first gen Tacomas need new front lights so this video is a great service to the community.

    I've been putting this off for months because I was afraid of messing it up. After finding and watching your video, I went ahead and replaced my sidelights in 20 minutes! The steps were really simple to follow. Thank you so much!

    Great video!! One thing I almost missed bolting down new head lights is L-shaped feature has to go thru hole of metal frame. Be patient when unclipping grill to avoid breaking off small clips, I would suggest buying new ones to replace all of them at this point.

    Great video, replaced my headlights and markers following your lead. One note though, there seems to be no actual "right and left" adjustment. That screw is for mounting only, it screws into plastic with a very course thread, obviously not for adjusting. However, the up and down adjustment was totally necessary on my 2003 Taco. Nice work on the tutorial, thank you!

    • @cleric670
      @cleric670 7 місяців тому

      That's correct, he mistakenly said there is a left/right adjustment. First gen Tacomas only have up/down adjustment which he did correctly show.

  • @SecretaryBootyyJuice

    I'm not pointing any fingers here, but shouldn't you not touch ANY bulbs with greasy hands?? In this case it was the side bulbs..... I've always, always used a paper towel when touching the actual glass part of any bulbs. I know for sure in high-dollar bulbs for a range of different applications, it usually even says it on the packaging not to touch the bulb with bare hands, to always use a clean towel or napkin to handle. Just asking, I always thought that to be like an unwritten rule when it comes to any type of bulb .

    • @sidley1234
      @sidley1234 6 років тому +1

      Jacob Hidalgo your right. Because of the oil from your hands can heat up and melt the glass

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  5 років тому +1

      yes you are correct, then newer bulbs are much more sensitive to this, the older ones not so much, this is one of our employees vehicles and the bulbs are all still gouda!!

    Very interesting. I have an 2002 Tacoma. Dealership said there was no headlight adjustment on my model.

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  4 роки тому +1

      Idontcare_626 according to our data the 2002 models use the same exact headlights, also our catalog shows them as adjustable, so maybe check for yourself to verify, also correct vehicle ride height and tire size and pressure should be considered when accessing headlight adjustment!

    I did this and had a bit of trouble. I only bought the headlights and not the markers. I would recommend replacing both. The plastic tabs on the markers snapped off with little resistance, very brittle.

    All my lights are working, but the lenses were "fogged". Purchased a RAIN-X headlight restoration kit. AMAZING the results! HOW MUCH did those new units cost?

  • @charlesmcgehee3227

    With filament type bulbs, may I suggest wearing latex gloves. Touching and handling a new bulb leaves oils from our fingers and when that gets hot a few times a sort of crud builds up. This causes the bulb to run hotter than it should and will shorten the lifespan. This does not apply to LED type lamps. Thanks for the tutorial. Well done.

  • @Jerlemi2

    Dealing with an old vehicle you will notice that the plastic clips and tabs are brittle as fuck. Any pressure will result in breakage. Have extra clips on hand

    What i really really wanted to know I what size socket is used for the up and down adjustment. A tiny hex head is not enough info....i am gonna have to purchase a socket and do not want to sound like the proverbial clueless backyard mechanic.

    You know if you take apart a hard drive and take the magnets out then put em on the horn in the right place you can make em sound like high pitched screams?…. Kinda funny to do to a buddy without them knowing so when they get pissed and use the horn it goes off like an old school trolly or something.. lol.
