Fun fact The planetary nebula phase of stellar evolution is a short-lived phenomenon, astronomically speaking, generally lasting only about 50,000 years. Sirius B is estimated to be over 100 million years old, so any planetary nebula it might have had is long gone
Hey everywone do u know sirius b is the dead star Around 120 million years ago, Sirius B was a large white star five times as massive as the sun, but it has since passed through the red giant phase, and it's now the dead remnant of a formerly active s
Perhaps, but unlikely. The closest Sirius B gets to A is about 8 AU. Maybe Sirius B could acquire some mass from its companion, from the stellar wind, but not alot. Possibly enough to cause a nova explosion, but not enough for a supernova. Distances on these maps aren't to scale.
You can do more alternate futures of binary systems and today my suggestion is to do an alternate future of Eta Carinae.Eta Carinae is a binary star system of 2 star,Eta Carinae A and B.A has the mass of about 120 solar masses and B is about 30 solar masses.A is 2.96 million to 4.10 million solar luminosities and B is
Or you can do the future of massive stars, here are many examples:Alnitak,Alnilam,Mintaka,Rigel,Antares,VY Canis Majoris,The Garnet Star,UY Scuti,Stephenson 2-18,V354 Cephei,R136a1,Deneb,Pistol Star,Spica,Saiph or even those of X-ray binaries like Cygnus X-1?
I think if Sirius B is as massive as the sun, then the star may have been born with at least 5 solar masses and in the B-type star catalog and may have lived from between 101 and 126 million years.
Can you do alternative history of the solar system (Where the events that happened are different than real life) (Example: theia and Mars migrate further from the sun destroying the asteroid belt so theia survives)
im pretty sure theres an inaccuracy i dont remember but there should be a sirius c in the system already orbiting sirius A only called sirius C and its planet is sirius Cb.
I also think that when sirius a becomes red giant, i think that during the thermal pulsations,Sirius B might gain the mass between 50 to 100 Jovian masses.
Do white dwarfs like Sirius B shine but gradually cooldown and slowly dimming down because they don’t have nuclear fusion?Do they start with a temperature hotter than the Sun?
Yes they do dim and change color over time. They simply just radiate their energy away. And yes, they do start out with a temperature hotter than the Sun :) I need to fix that lol
Because the previous video had an inaccuracy, which was Sirius A and Sirius B as black dwarves colliding. The collision would cause a supernova (which I haven't realized) but in that video it didn't. So I changed the way the stars are going to die. Maybe I will include the black dwarf collision scenario in another future video.
This is the most recent and most accurate version. I corrected the mistakes from the previous ones :) AFO... videos aren't supposed to be taken seriously though, I just do them for fun :) Some events are real and some events are fictional.
That's how I do my videos: 1. I make a "map" or "maps" 2. I write the script with all the events in the video 3. I draw the slides/frames corresponding to each event. I use the map(s) to do so. To make the next slide, I copy and paste the previous one and add something new to it. 4. When the slides are done I put them into a video editor and caption them as the events from the script. 5. I add an intro and outro. 6. I add music 7. I often rewatch the video multiple times to see if there are any mistakes. If there are, I correct them. 8. When the video is ready, I export it
