No difference. Both Main-1 and Main-2 are exactly same, but as per CBIP guidelines we generally select Main-1 and Main-2 relay from two different manufacturers so that they may have different algorithms. This is done only to avoid the non-operation/maloperation of relays for some particular types of fault conditions. Generally it is assumed that if you select the relays from two different manufacturers then there is very less probability that both the relays have non-operation/maloperation for same condition. However, now a days in most of the projects of GE, you can have Main-1 and main-2 relay both manufactured by GE i.e. Micom P444 and D60 but again these two relays have different algorithms. In some state utilities they even select Main-2 and Main-2 both relay manufactured by same manufacturer but as per CBIP guidelines "for all 765kV, 400kV and 220kV Lines shall have two main protections (Main-I & Main-II) with equal performance. Further Main-II protection Relay must be of a make different from that of Main-I"

If your settings and logics are correct, then SOTF will not operate. The earth switch is towards the line side. In this condition, STUB protection will come into picture.
Check the internal event of the P444 Relay. If you are injecting simultaneous fault and pre-fault duration is 500ms then the only possibility left is TOR Trip. You will get the event as SOTF/TOR Trip in P444 Relay. In P444 Relay, TOR Protection gets enabled during any pole dead condition and resets only 500ms after resetting of any pole dead condition. If during, this window any fault is detected by P444 Relay in Z1 or Z2 then it will issue SOTF/TOR Trip (depending upon actual relay settings). Check that after whether the any pole dead was active when you have injected the second fault.
Very nice explanation....I am 16 yrs in WB State Transmission utility....but concept is not cleared........now it is clear to me
Thank You
Very nice explanation sir, even O and M people can easily understand protection concept, very nice lecture series
Thank You
Very nice, Sir
Thank you for watching. If you like the contents then please share the video with your friends.
Sir please continue video banaye please and i ❤u sir
Excellent 👌👍
Thanks a lot
Nice explain sir...It is requested to you kindly upload video on operations and principal of CB, CT and CVT.
OK... I will upload video on this topic shortly.
sir, please explain about how to do polarization voltage testing in directional overcurrent relay protection
Very informative video for protection engineers.thanks sir..

Very good explanation Sir 🙏
Sir thank you

Please sir upload more protection
dmt and one and half breaker scheme ke bare mein bataen
Sir kindly make a video on line reactor and bus reactor.
Thank you for your suggestions. I will upload video on these topics shortly. Stay tuned for more updates.

Sir,
Induction level in 400kV station
REL 670 aur Micom P444 ka logic every protection discussion karenge kya
Yes definitely karunga... Abhi theoretical session kar raha hu uske baad yahi start karunga...
What happen if our side line isolator is open and line earthing is closed.
Then the Sotf will operate ???

Nice sir
Thank you. Keep watching and share the video with your friends.

Sir I faced a problem while testing zone protection that time SOTF protection also operated with zone trip.
What's the reason sir can you explain?
Check prefault time in the kit. It should not be zero.
@@LIGHTNINGMINDS_PANKAJKUMARJHA prefault time was 500 ms
Which Relay are you testing?
SOTF Settings?
@@LIGHTNINGMINDS_PANKAJKUMARJHA sir P444,while giving zone fault simultaneously operated sotf
