    I am an Indian
But my family has always loved pakistani dramas because they had specific storylines, logical stories, less drama, bgm and more reality
And if we go back a little to the times of drama humsafar, zindagi gulzaar hai and dur e sehwar they had such a raw feel. The actresses didn't even had much makeup on, just beautiful beautiful writing and outstanding performances.
But now pakistani dramas have started becoming more like Indian tv serials. Please don't do this. We love pakistani dramas the way they used to be...

I follow Pakistani dramas very closely and really fell in love with Murtesim... Actually I didn't understand the last scene. Only after watching this video of yours I could sense that such a thing happened. Its very sad that such content is being aired....it can have negative repercussions on the youth who try to mimic their favourite characters. Looking forward to another story like Zindagi Gulzar Hai.......lots of love from Kolkata

No such hadis ,no such ayah,no such comendment in Islam show that what we had signed away suddenly we become owner of that "right" back....... We are not talking about man ....we are talking about "marital rape" that is being shown now in our dramas 1: it is not halaal 2:it's not permissible in Islam 3: if u r accepting a lady with signing those rights away ......u got no such right (it's simply is Islam) ,4: if u in ur mind is not giving ur rights away but signing that contract just to show how much a man u r ,what ego u got.......then u r abiding against the Islamic rules .......if u can't do what u are contracting then such Marriage contract (in Islam) is void and yes then a male had done a "Rape" n actually a "Marital Rape" which is also prohibited in Islam ......As a male u are allowed to divorce her ....or do as is said in Hadith.....but still No Marital Rape is allowed .......U r Just to leave her ....As is said in Islam.........,5 last but not the least(from society perspective) .......such dramas can create chaos in our society plus it can get mistrust among female for male ......phr shadi Kahan Sy kro gy bahi aap log jb hum apny males pr hy trust Nahi kr Sakin gy .........kahany ko toh aur bhi hy but I wrote it ..just to make u understand ....not to put tantrum on u or any other good male in society (Now see in this perspective how rubbish ur comment was......aur aap jaisy kissi bhi bandy ka aisa comment ho ga )
Sirf society ka 5-6% bandoon ki kissi negativity ko show krny ki liye 90% of population ko badnaam krty Hain aisy writers, directors n producers plus actors and actresses should have to b sensible enough to act .....

You are right Rabia, it has been 4 days since the 46th episode was telecast and since then I am engrossed in a kind of sadness which I am unable to explain. It is really not sinking in. The character of Murtasim had so much of respect in my heart, but after watching the promo of ep 47, it just got shattered. As far as I have watched Wahaj, he has always played roles in which he has respect for women. I have watched his interviews as well, he has always been a gentleman. Really wonder how he agreed to play such an act. Meerab too wants to become a lawyer. How has the writer portrayed the character of a lawyer. She did not investigate about Mariyam's lover, but she had complete faith on that rogue. And Murtasim, whom she knows so well and she has checked on his activities following him and have found him to be an epitome of goodness and decency, suddenly comes to the conclusion that he is characterless. On top of that, Murtasim has confessed Meerab about his passion and love and has said that he cannot lose his second love, who is Meerab, and won her confidence. Is this the way an aspiring lawyer would behave. Does she not know what sort of a person Haya is. Does she still not trust Murtasim. I watch Pakistani dramas for the VIRGIN ROMANCE they portray. I have watched many and still watch and I just love them for that. Here all of a sudden a respectable hero both in real and reel life has suddenly been portrayed as a 'SEXUAL PERPETRATOR' makes me feel so gloomy. Even in 'Dil Na Umeed to Nahi', where they could have shown such a scene, as it had a social message, where both Wahaj and Yumna were portrayed very decently. Why in this family drama, such an atrocity has been filmed, it is just ridiculous. How can a person of Murtasim's stature fall to the stature of Mallik Zubair, can't believe.
Despite the many flaws, I watch this drama for the great chemistry that Wahaj and Yumna share. They could have refused for such an unwanted or rather unwarranted twist in the story. I was expecting that at least by now Meerab would realise her errors and apologise to Murtasim. Instead there was an unnecessary slap and spit on Murtasim which did not go well with me at all. I am so disappointed with the writer. Now, even if they try to bring back romance, I think it would never gel and would rather look awkward. Wahaj is my favourite and is such a brilliant actor, not able to digest him being painted like this by the writer.
I am a dismayed and heartbroken fan from India.
PS: Wahaj, please do not play such type of roles where your character is assassinated. You are a brilliant actor and wonderful human being and you do not deserve such a backlash.

her spitting in my opinion was all in all wrong. Like that’s the lowest you could go. But then they had to add another low, lower than the lowest we could imagine. And thus that’s being talked about more, and justifiably so. Like she slapped you, just push her, or slap in return, and go your own separate ways. Like you’ve already presented trash, might as well add in a little bit more, and end it the way it should end now, to then make an example out of this drama, as to what should never be presented again.

Thank you Rabia. You voiced the viewers sentiments and emotions so perfectly. I found it so disturbing to watch some of the videos floating around where the writer says it was the demand of the script and if the audience does not understand it, then it is their problem. She stands by her script. If those videos are true, then the writer’s response is so condescending and irresponsible.
Besides if the production house, producers, director and all the actors knew that the story is leading towards violence and rape, then it is even more disturbing. I loved Yumna and Wahaj so much. Now I am finding it difficult to respect them as artists and even as responsible human beings. Why did they not raise their voice or choose to get out of the show if the production house was not ready to amend the script. They all made money, name and fame out of this series, so being socially responsible comes default with it.
Now if Tere Bin team is saying watch till the end, the end is going to be happy ending, then they are justifying and normalizing violent acts and horrendous crime as rape. Violence is not acceptable whether it is acted out by a man or a woman. Crime is a crime. No amount of reasoning can justify the violent and criminal act. if you can reason and justify one rape, then why do laws exist to punish such crimes? Doesn’t every person who commits a crime has some or the other reason behind it. So, does the reason justify the criminal act? Does being remorseful after the crime, make it alright to forgive the crime?
This is so disturbing. I am not going to watch any more episodes of Tere Bin nor am I going to watch any shows from this production house or any of the actors.
Whether in the drama rape took place or not, they showed violence and implied rape to create sensationalism and gain views. So not acceptable.

Hey Rabia, Everything you have stated here resonates so deeply with my own feelings, I thank you for putting words to my thought process. A beautiful story was butchered just to create sensationalism.
Rape is rape, even if the perpetrator is victim's husband. Tere Bin show creators have drastically undermined the mental health aspect of people who go through such horrendous events in their lives. The trauma is not just physical, it is also psychological and often an etiological factor contributing to mental disorders in victims. Trivializing the impact of rape is irresponsible and reckless. Lack of sensibility on this sensitive subject exhibited by a reputable organization like Geo TV only astounds me.
If they really wanted to depict it in the show, they should have addressed it in a better manner. First and foremost, the perpetrator should not have been portrayed as the 'hero'.
I signed up for this show solely because of Yumna and Wahaaj and hold them accountable for the distress they have caused me.

I never expected this in a Pakistani serial, I am from india and I only watch pakistani serials , just because their stories are so real , logical and even if I find some very conservative dialogue , I don’t judge them knowing that they are at the same time also provoking the society to see that it’s time to change ourselves. But I really wanted to see meerab to fall in love with murtasam, realising that how good a human being he is. But as you said I can’t imagine her to fall in love with him . Even her action of slapping and spitting is unacceptable. No where it has been brought out how haya knew everything and kept it to herself. There are sooooo many flaws in the writing. This action by Meerub made no logical sense given all she knows about Haya’s past shenanigans, and also what Haya confessed to Meerub two episodes before which lead to Murtasim leaving Meerub at her mothers home, why did she think Murtasim invited Haya to his bedroom, he even begged her to trust him in such a gentle Murtasim manner? is Meerub just a low IQ female? She made no sense! If s should have been the true reconciliation story, as both missed each other and Meerub finally realising she loves him,and learns from Maa a Begum that Murtasim is lost without his Meerub! They should have used this scene to be together and also expose Haya’s antics so she finally pays for all she had done to drive a wedge between Murtasim and Meerub! I wonder if the silly writer and production house wanted to drag the drama ( due to its high ratings) by this twisted gut wrenching storyline which made us all utterly disgusted and personally I think this has backfired! The people cannot be taken for fools by an incompetent writer whose drama only got to this dizzy heights through the acting of all the cast, but particularly the two lead stellar performers Wahaj and Yumna! So she and the production house decided to make Meerub spit and slap Murtasim, to justify Murtasim becoming a rapist! sorry Im not buying this! They have destroyed our enjoyment and instead triggered millions of women, who are so afraid of Marital a rape and all of us do no find M rape anything to get a happy ending by the toxic male getting redemption!

Even Yumna had told in an interview that murtasim is the only positive character in this drama. So a non toxic Deep lover and a good man who cares and loves his wife would never do this. He is so humanitarian too. He will vent out his anger in some other way as she pushed him to extent and he is like what is he getting in return of all his love and care. it’s actually destroying murtasim character which was the only character making sense in this drama till now. Tere bin definitely has been a thoroughly misogynistic play from the start and unfortunately, NM has shattered all hopes of the world still having some gentlemen who think using their heads. The promo of episode 47 has left all of us shaken to the core! I had to take a lexotanil to sleep because it was a nerve-wracking experience that left me feeling choked.
Moreover, if the play proceeds as insinuated in the promo, Yumna and Wahaj should be considered as responsible for the degeneration of not just dramas but in turn, societal values because there are 2 billion people watching, absorbing, and then perhaps normalizng what they see, especially when their favourite actors don't comsider it inappropriate. Where is the "responsible capitalism" Wahaj keeps mentioning in all his interviews? Is it just a term used to impress or does he really believe in it?

It might happens somewhere but when you show all this to the new generation on their TV screens, you can't imagine the terrible effect it will have on their mindset. Then we complain why the immorality is increasing in our society? Unfortunately, we are becoming accustomed to suffering evil.

We are Intelligent viewers we expect to be treated logically and Intelligently. How can the makers Justify MR and portray it. What kind of impact it would have on our society where women are already oppressed and treated like second citizen. How much trauma it would bring to the victims who are going through it and are stuck with this bitter reality. What it says about the makers who had the responsibility to change the stereotypes of our society but they are corrupting it to a next level. What impact will it bring on our society if our dramas show that its alright for men to do anything just because of a poor excuse that the women raised their voice at them😢.

RABIA you can’t imagine how everyone found the slapping and spitting very distasteful in episode 46, and across all social media this was the case! The issue of people mainly women and young girls stating that they couldn’t sleep and their mental health was affected by that ominous threat and shutting of the bedroom door and what it inferred to the viewers with the promo of 47, was indeed the most harrowing thing to read! We expected romance and reconciliation from the the happy Meerub realising she loved Murtasim, and her hearing from Maa Begum that her son is lost without her, but no they had to make yet another twist so vile, so gut wrenching that the non toxic character of Murtasim ( whom we all fell in love with );was made into a degenerate raping monster! HOW? Why.
I know the writer already tarnished Meerub’s character from around episode 6, but to do this to Murtasim’s character is a travesty and insulted the millions of viewers!
How does a respectful, caring, gentle, loving, romantic ,protective man like Murtasim so deeply in love with his Meerub, commit the heinous crime of Marital Rape? It’s inconceivable given that a few episodes ago he was running like a madman trying to find his sister captured by MZ, and his whole essence was to hope that his sister wasn’t violated in this manner by M Zubair! So why would this wonderful guy do this to his uncle Anwar,’s daughter and foster daughter of Waqas, and Anila, and the Chahat and Ishq of his life? Why?
It was on your programme that Nooran Mukhtoom indicated that she created this non toxic loving man as a balance against all the toxic hero’s in current Pak dramas! really? She had created this beautiful man who garnered such huge audiences across the world, and everywhere we saw memes about how Murtasim is the most ideal husband, then she drops him in the cesspit to become the most toxic male in the drama, thereby turning off the interest of millions of die hard Tere Bin fans! I watched it with a mix bag of friends from other non SE Asian nationalities, and even they said they will not be watching the rest of the episodes on learning that the writer felt the MR was s essential to move the story further, and that it will be a happy ending!
Sorry there should never be redemption to Murtasim for MRape! How is it even a happy ending, given Meerub has taken all this time of cajoling, wooing, and romancing by Murtasim to fall in love with him, do you think she can accept a rapist as a husband and forgive him? So to me the message they are conveying to young girls and indeed young men being a good respectful caring loving, protective non toxic male Murtasim isn’t someone women would want, nor love, but that women prefer men who violates his wife!
TB isn’t a social comment drama like Udaari, DNUTN,so at least the masses have indicated how triggered we all are that this writer sees fit to insult us like this, first with her lies about creating a perfect non toxic hero, then to turn and make him a monster!Wahaj and Yumna gave stellar performances in an otherwise very poor script, and it’s thanks to them that the drama soared to trending at No1 in many countries, but what the producers and writer did in episode 46, for further ratings may have backfired! This is disgusting, unacceptable and has left many young girls scared to want to be married, and many others devastated that Murtasim is turned into this horrible man! The sad aspect is that some weird women and mostly men thought that Meerub deserved this for the slapping and spitting, they don’t realise that in Islam it’s forbidden for a man to force his wife to have sex, as it comes under the principles of not harming your wife! I’m an so disappointed that I now feel like I might stop watching Pakistani dramas for a while, as I was drawn to them with classics like ZGH, Dastan, Alif, Yakeen ka safar, and more current ones like Parizad, Pyar ke Sadquay, DNUTN! This drama then turned from a guilty pleasure to a nightmare!

You have described all my thoughts exactly. The writer herself had such a tone deaf response to theMR scene. She said, treat this as a drama only, don't forget that its a drama, if people can't take something like that, there is nothing else i can do !!!

This is what I think HOW AND WHY, the team of TereBin ruined Murtasim in a second. Slapping or spitting does not make a woman stronger. We all know from the beginning that the writer didn’t put anything on Meerab’s plate, but we all are so affectionate towards Murtasim. We are attached to his every action. Wahaj and Yumna nailed the drama with their acting skills, but the writer and director killed the beauty of the drama merely in one episode. This is the first and last drama of Nooran Makhdoom for me, and I swear I m not going to watch her any other craft. I used to pick dramas by actors in the beginning, but these days to get the good stuff, I look for the names of great directors and writers. I watched Tere Bin along with the drama DNUTN and Jo Bichhar Gaye. The same actors in DNUTH, what a great performance of these two, what a flawless story. I don't understand on what basis these production teams are trying to sell these dramas. We, viewers, are not dumb like the characters in their dramas. We have educated viewers. Sell your product according to the Caliber of your viewers.

The way Rabia described her feelings in the start (of after watching the episode) literally was how I felt. I just had a silence and couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. The writing was really poor and the characters did things that were completely out of their normal personality. It just felt so unusual to see that side of Murtasim especially, from the man who would take a stand for his wife and tape up a ripped contract, to a man who is now going to SA his wife. Meerab has been straight and upfront from day one but we’ve never seen this side of her. We’ve never seen her be so ‘disrespectful’ and that too to a person who’s been there for her after everything that life has thrown at her. Even to haya, who always tries to rile her up, she’s always spoken to in a calm manner.
The writer genuinely thinks we’re dumb - Maryam literally warned Meerab that Haya will do everything to ruin their relationship and everything that Haya’s done so far, still nothing to question her?
Yes, Murtasim has been in compromising situations with Haya but Meerab should know that he loves her. He’s told her many times and even shown her: by standing up for her at several occasions and doing everything possible in his power.
The main reason why many people enjoyed this show was due to the ML breaking stereotypes but now that’s the exact thing that’s putting people off.
I feel like regardless of what happens in the next episode the damage is done! Even if they don’t show it or they show it - by insinuating that they’ve already caused a very big problem. If they show reconciliation after SA they’re showing the masses that that’s okay and if it happens you should try to move on with your husband (the perpetrator). It’s so illogical like you said, the trauma that someone with SA goes through why would they even want to see that person’s face again, let alone live with them?
Bottom line is: I don’t know if I can continue watching the show, it’s way too toxic and illogical. The only reason I was watching it after episode 23 was due to Meerasim but now it’s just too much. I haven’t been able to think straight since Wednesday, it’s definitely really affected me.

Rabia you articulated how you were feeling, and how most of us were feeling so so well, I really enjoyed hearing this, and also hearing someone address all the concerns that most of us had after last week... and I agree such drama's and writing should not be given views and supported and going back to her abuser after MR would be the worst possible ending... plus like you said, Meerab slapping and spitting just didn't make sense, it was so out of character, they had the opportunity to make a really good romance with great actors, and instead, they've given us this...

Yes Rabia, I literally cried for so long didn’t expect this from both Meerub and Murtasim. If there is really MR, then literally Murtasim is dead for many of the fans. We can’t even go back and see old Meerasim cute moments. Writer has really sick mind. How can she twist the character just like that.

I was mentally disturbed after watching episode 46 and teaser 47. Like many others even I stayed awake on Thursday night. I just couldn't sleep. Meerab's dreadful crying face was haunting me.
I'll hold the writer accountable for this mess. This is simply UNACCEPTABLE.
Why did they portray Murtasim in good limelight if end of the day they wanted to turn him into a RAPIST!
    I'M BEYOND DISGUSTED

I absolutely agree with you. I have been watching from India and hooked to it. What rubbish they showed? I legit couldn’t sleep that night, just like you and still enraged. Got anxiety too. True story. It now feels like a waste of time, emotions, and having a breach of faith in Pakistani dramas. Indian dramas are a shit show but this is downright ridiculous. A reason why British, American and Korean series are flourishing is because of their stories, the characters, the reasoning, etc. the list is endless.

Am from India. I completely agree with your viewpoint. I remember in one of your interviews with the writer, she said something to the effect of the contract gets breached is something to be watched. It's going to be good... when she said good, I also thought how Meerab will finally tear the contract herself.. but right now after watching the promo,I am scared to even watch it now. The writer must have a messed up thought process if she thought that "marital rape" is something which will entertain the viewers

You are absolutely on the point Rabia. After a very long time, had started to watch a drama, and was super excited to see a solid matured kind and patient man(husband) in Murtasim. the writer just ruined his character. Meerab's actions were really stupid. there has been several instances in the drama where Murtasim has confessed that he has no feelings to Haya and Meerab knows it. yet she acted in a stupid way. the illogical twist was written to garner more TRPs & sensationalize the proceedings. In today's complicated world, where Genzs and millenials are losing faith in the institution of marriage, this added more fuel to it. I am really appalled at the writer who defended her screenplay. a golden opportunity to create a benchmark of the drama and build a lasting legacy is lost. The serial ends for me at 46.

Well said. Thank u for this raw honesty.your views voiced the exact thoughts brewing in my mind since Thursday.I started watching pak dramas becoz of its pakeezgi of relationships n how beautifully they portray their story without unnecessary vulgarity and cheap scenes. The story itself of tere bin was so powerful that it was unnecessary to add up all the recent disturbing parts which has traumatised me and had led to a point where I don’t want to watch it anymore just becoz it’s so disturbing. Ppl watch dramas to get entertained and lose themselves in the beautiful story, not to get traumatised. 😢
