Tenuous and vague one, but Mark Jones scored a bizarre one for the Scarlets v ?Treviso? In the late 00s. He was tackled and not held, but his forwards cleared out over the top. But as no Treviso player initiated the ruck (old laws), and Jones hadn’t been tackled, he got to his feet and emerged from the mass of bodies and sprinted for the corner. Try was given, but looked bizarre. There is also an Arwel Thomas try for Swansea v ?Newport? around 2001. Both teams assumed there was a break in play so huddled. Thomas and the referee were on their own, and he took it quickly. Running in unopposed. As he hadn’t indicated he was going for goal, he could still take a tap penalty. It was just bizarre as the other 29 players had huddled up. Sorry, extremely tenuous, I’d be amazed if you found either of these!
I'm really confused by 4:00. So a player from the Rays grounded the ball behind their own line, but they awarded a try to the Stars even though there wasn't an attacking player anywhere near the ball? That's insane
That Sydney Stars try is a great argument for kit clash rules in rugby being a lot stricter. And also for referees to be goddamn competent, jeez now with Owens retiring there are like three
Andrew - Chris Henry try against Ospreys May 2016. Ospreys have a defensive ruck on their line, scrumhalf rolls it back to set up a box kick - he rolls the ball onto the try line, Chris Henry dives through and touches it down.

3:33 Try is valid. It’s a small detail in the law book. Try is only disallowed when attacking ball carrier held the ball into try zone. If the ball is already in the try zone, by for example a kick, a player can score a try even if they are in touch during grounding.
Yes, this would be a try... Control of the ball in a try is any amount of downward pressure from the hand onto the ball. So a try can be awarded with even the smallest contact of a fingertip.
Andrew Forde making some excellent videos recently keep it up. Would it be possible if you could you do a video about Japan Top League Rugby as last season showed a great brand of rugby and it would be cool to see a compilation of it

Vannes tried it recently in a D2 game against Angouleme but it was disallowed for unsporting conduct....World Rugby law 8.20: If the team indicates to the referee the intention to kick at goal, they must kick at goal.
