16 years and people still want more from her. They still care and buy her music. They spend money to see her on tours. She's still slaying the music industry. I think her biggest asset is her fearlessness and her fans, she's never afraid to experiment and play a little outside her comfort zone cause she knew her loyal fans will embrace and support anything she puts out there. From country, to pop to indie and back to mainstream, she found success in each era. No one's doing it like Taylor and her Swifties. She has cemented her legacy and she's not done yet.

Honestly the genre change makes all the difference. Cardigan and Willow were great songs, but with the indie pop sound they had, it was VERY hard for the songs to keep high on charts. I'm guessing adult pop contemporary radio ate those up, but they're not super catchy pop songs to play at parties or clubs. I am also pretty sure that Taylor was aware those two albums weren't going to be that popular, she knows how the industry works, but she did the kind of music she wanted to make at the time, which I think is a very respectable decision. Maybe that's why she seemed kind of surprised when Willow hit no. 1.

I also think that the 3am tracks being exclusive to streaming as well as the fact that she held off on releasing on the lyric videos to UA-cam until 18 hours after the album release also helped the album to break as many streaming/Spotify records as it did, because it forced people to listen to the album via those specific platforms. Not to mention the clock design scheme of the CDs/vinyls, which led to a lot of people buying up to 4 physical copies each. I think the remix releases were a bit cheap of a way to keep the #1 spot for Anti-Hero, but as a whole, this is some of the most clever and effective marketing I've seen for an album rollout. Taylor Swift is not perfect, because you know nobody is but she is definitely not a bad influence. Throughout her whole career, she shows that girls can be as successful and influential (or even more) as any man in the industry ever has. She has paved the way for so many individuals through her music and herself.
A lot of people see her as a spoiled lovesick talentless white girl but the thing is, she knows people have this image and she mocks it (ex: Blank Space) 😂. She is a great marketer, storyteller, musician, and so much more. She has truly made a name for herself. You don’t have to be a fan of Taylor but you can’t deny that this girl is running it 👑✨. So, a group of both men and women discourage and mock women in the industry. Like another singer Melanie Martinez once quoted “ Feeding on misogyny, but still you call yourself a feminista. I was 15 and knew it was part photoshop, part make up but didn't understand enough to know why she looked like a doll not a person and was aooooo disappointed I wouldn't ever come close to anything as "perfect". There’s just no record label that tried their best to introduce a new Taylor Swift. Big example is Nicki Minaj. Meanwhile not even Cardi's Hot Shit didn't charted on Billboard top 10, she managed to get top 10 single this year by remixing Glorilla and even that only stays one week on top 10. Cardigan wasn't heavily promoted, neither was Willow, hence their lesser times on the charts. LWYMMD was the same way, but that was on purpose. All of Reputation was intentionally under-promoted, which was the entire point of the album, and it's even funnier, because it's accompying tour still became the highest grossing NAmerican tour by a woman.
Also, Anti-Hero was clearly written and produced to be radio-friendly, hence the success of the song. It was the same thing with ME!, written with the intention of being radio-friendly. Nearly all of Lover was written that way, but we never to got experience it in the way of other Taylor albums because of the pandemic.

for the correction, it is not just the remixes but she has so many aiplays than drake at that week. but of courses the remixes are good too but her airplays are high in the data that i saw. i dont think that is the highest or the most successful era in her entire career because it just started month ago, well i can be but too early for that. But before midnights came out she is already successful , it is just like Folklore and Evermore are indie records but those are highest selling alternative album tho. Lover reached 800k plus of copies in its first week but sold 3 million copies worldwide. But again, since her career started she is already sucessful. Midnights just sold 1.5 million a week the highest in a week recorded in her entire career but it doesnt mean that midnights album was the most sucessful thing in her career, midnights is sucessful but it is a 1 month old. lol

With midnights, of course, she'll promote properly cos' it's pop music which sells and charts well. The only mistake she made was releasing ME! as a lead single off Lover album.

I used to love her but I can’t anymore. The way she threatened a small blogger for saying she should denounce white supremacy in 2017 rather than threaten the Daily Stormer, a literal major white supremacist publication insisting she shared their beliefs was super creepy. And then she said nothing when fans went in on Antonia Gentry (Ginny from Ginny and Georgia) with racist hate as a direct result of a tweet that she made calling the show out for sexism. Her misunderstanding with Nicki Minaj over representation of black artists in music awards was extremely tone deaf, and she never rectified her insertion of herself in a conversation that had nothing to do with her, even when encouraged to join the discourse in a productive way. The music video for Wildest Dreams reads as a romanticization of colonialism. She never responded to these criticisms and to this day has not spoken on the hate that Antonia received, but she snaps at the faintest whisper of someone saying she dates too many guys or doesn’t write all of her own music. She has a racial blindspot for sure, and her “feminism” only protects her own interests.
