I agree. I had the same reaction as I did with good news to this album. At first I was like "nah fuck this..this isn't happening" and then I was like "wait I think I'll listen to this one again" and then "holy shit..i get it..this is amazing".

Perhaps it's because you are always depressed and thus your emotional tentacles are always on high alert and scanning the ether for pain relief and or comfort.

Japanese trees sounds like it should be on lonesome.. and so on.. this is an epic album that is already underrated... overlooked.. and underappreciated.. but in my opinion it's less for them and more for us.. keep it under your pillow. Just buy a shit ton of merch to show appreciation lol

Couldn't have said it better myself. Don't understand the hate. All the M.M. elements are there in full force. Plus a good helping of some new. The last 6 songs are so good I almost had a tear in my eye. In my opinion it's Right up there with moon & Antarctica

Dude you nailed it on the head. I knew there was something different and you're right. Not as much of the manic barks like from good news or we were dead. A lot more understandable and softly sung vocal lines. Awesome job on the vocals on this album here.

I heard this song for the first time last Friday and over the weekend I dreamed of myself driving across the mountains on the interstate. Flying right along really, about 100 MPH. And in certain spots in Wyoming on I-80 where you move around the mountain edge and the eastern rising sun breaks through a little bit of morning wispy clouds and opens up the sheer amount of blue above.
