@Mikeoscope yes,I replaced the timing adjusters on all cams,aligned all timing marks ,verified all 4 timing marks line up through cam holes,they are perfectly in center. Runs like it should just has a ticking/clanking sound somewhere on passenger side engine area. Sounds like it's possibly near firewall but not sure. Sound go's away when I open oil filler cap and only makes the noise when the engine warms up. Engine is quiet during cold start.
@ Resolved a very similar issue on a BMW F25 with the noise going away upon opening the oil filler cap. It was a bad PCV valve but it was integrated with the valve cover so changed the entire valve cover and the noise went away.
My 08 c300 has the notorious engine clank from passenger side area. No one seems to know what causes it.
Is your timing correct ?
