This might be a controversial opinion, but with anxiety that bad, meds would have and still would be very helpful to control it. There is nothing wrong about being on meds. Everyone's body needs a certain balance of chemicals. In anxiety, there is an imbalance of neurochemicals that can be adjusted with meds. Without meds, one will feel like they are constantly in what is known as "fight or flight", which our body reserves for LIFE-THREATENING situations. Outwardly this is seen to impact social activities, but can also impact productivity as it gets worse (which is normally when most people go to seek help, when they should have come before it gets to that point). The problem with medically significant anxiety (anxiety that prevents you from living life "normally"), your body ages faster both physically and mentally because it is not built to function at maximum stress levels for extended periods of time.
Also, therapy has been proven to only be 15% effective in "mental" disorders. Medication is the most effective at 50%. The current recommendation is to combine therapy with meds, or at the very least do just the meds. No sane physician recommends therapy alone. So people need to stop pushing the "med free" narrative. It has been statistically proven that psych meds (anti-depressants and anti-psychotics) significantly improve both symptoms and life expectancy. As with all medications, there are side-effects, but that's why you have a psychiatrist that helps figure out which med works for you. Unfortunately, it's just trial and error. Most side-effects are just minor annoyances compared to the symptoms of mental disorders.
And this is why I'm a little concerned with Enna's thinking that therapy is going to be super helpful, because it's simply not going to do anything when the real problem is an imbalance of neurochemicals. Therapy might be able to control the thoughts (cognition), but it will do absolutely nothing about the feelings (like the feeling of impending doom or feeling as if you are about to die). And that's the thing, the feelings hit first, then our minds try to interpret those feelings. There is nothing you can do to prevent the feelings (besides meds). Just like Enna has mentioned before, social settings seem to be a trigger, but there are also times when absolutely nothing is happening and a panic attack happens.
Another way to think about this; compared to a normal person, Enna has a lower threshold (tolerance) before her mind freaks out. There is a strong theory that panic attacks are actually seizures. The simplest description of a seizure is brain overactivity. People that have a seizure in specific parts of their brain will then have overactivity in the functions that part of the brain controls. In the brain, the hypothalamus controls our fight or flight response, thus a seizure in this part of the brain would result in feelings of anxiety (basically a panic attack). Theoretically, meds increase this threshold, thus reducing the number of panic attacks/feelings of anxiety. In reality, it's not well understood why they work (because the brain is just so complex), but the fact still stands that they do in fact work.
BONUS: Anti-depressants and Anxiolytics (anxiety meds) share significant overlap. The most common one being SSRI's. So if you were suffering from depression or anxiety, you would most likely be prescribed an SSRI as it is considered the "first line" medication due to it's effectiveness as well as having the fewest side-effects. If you had both anxiety and depression, you'd likely only need to be on one medication as it should treat both disorders. And anyways, in most cases, it's usually the anxiety that results in depression. Also, the most common side-effect that most men complain about is decreased libido. (Un)surprisingly, lots of men would rather be depressed/anxious than have a lower sex-drive. On the other hand, there is an SSRI's (fluoxetine/proxac) that can actually make it harder to reach orgasms, resulting in you lasting longer during sex. There is also another anti-depressant/anxiolytic (trazadone) that can result in prolonged erections or priapism, thus has the nickname traza-Bone. At the other end of the spectrum, the most common side-effect that most women complain about is weight gain. Fortunately, there are weight-neutral medications available if this is a non-negotiable side effect.
Source: I am a family medicine physician very interested in mental disorders. In another life, I would have chosen to be a psychiatrist.

Unfortunately, Enna is an Asian, therefore the only real option is to "suck it up". However, it doesn't mean it's right. if possible, get the proper medical professional to get a look at you to get yourself help. Because those medicine can avoid certain extreme situations because of imbalances.
