I had a friend from Sweden who used a 60 in.bar on an MS 660 & 72 in. bar on his
MS 880 but to me that 36 in bar looked huge compared to the 20 in. bars I used all
the time and only used a bigger bar then a 28 in bar once - a (48 in.) bar once at a
competition and it scared the hell out of me but I played tuff and wrestled
    through it . : )

I also have one of them. Love it so far.
    A little tip.
When you are pouring bar oil from that type of a jug. Pour it from the side not the end. the handle doesn't get in the way. It's easier to not run it over.

I received a G660 Chainsaw like this directly from
Farmertec one week after ordering it and quickly unboxed it and it soon became
apparent that it was not providing enough oil to the 36 inch Farmertec bar
& Chain I purchased it with. I E-mailed the service dept. of Farmertec and
they said it was probably a bad oil pump and offered to send me a replacement
oil pump. I stated that they should send me another saw that worked out of the
box and they refused and would not pay to install the new oil pump in the saw.
So effectively no Warranty even for units defective out of the box! Then I
tried another bar to see if it was a bad bar and the saw seized up. So next I asked
them if they had a warranty station anywhere in the US and they said no. So
buyer beware they do not know what a warranty is and if its bad out of the
box-tough- they will send you parts so you can pay for repairs to a brand new
    saw!!!!

    • @DIYwithUncleCy
      @DIYwithUncleCy 5 років тому +5

Well most people like to read about what they are buying and NOT read into what they are reading. I went back and double checked they do not advertise a warranty anywhere that I can find in their add, so I am at a loss as to why anyone would presume that they have one. Also Farmertech saws are for people that like to, and/ or can work on their own saws, hence why they sell so many kits. And even having to buy a part such as an oil pump for a G660 (5.43 at the time I write this) plus shipping, and putting it in yourself it is still a better deal for this kind of saw than $1200 for an MS661CM which is the closest current Stihl model. So Sorry I just cannot sympathize whit ya on this one.

The reason he figured it was warranted is because it was brand new. They should have replaced the power head. His experience and comment and others like it will kill their sales. I have a feeling that stihl is probably suing them for stealing their intellectual property.

Hopefully as these Chinese companies progress they will learn to spend a few cents more for better packing on international shipments. I bought one saw from hutzl and one from another Chinese company. Both boxes looked like they had been kicked down the interstate. And for some reason on both of them the only thing broken was the small screwdriver handle. Those things must be made of Austrian crystal!

I got a holzfforma g 660. The first time I tried to started it it sounded like it was about to start for second but didn't. That was the closest it got to starting after 30 minutes more of attempts. A few days later I tried again with the same results. A few days tried for the third time. Nothing. I had a neighbor help the following week and he got it going. After 5 minutes of running it started to sound like it wax running out gas and it died. It had plenty of gas. As it cooled and I tried to pull the starter chord got it got harder and finally jammed. Pulled off the starter cage and it was about to fine. the fly wheel was stuck but was able get it to move .looked online and an article said to put oil in cylinder and let it sit for a few days. After two more days I moved then piston and was moving. Today I tried and it would not move at all. Does it sound like the engine is seized? Can't seem to find a way to contact the company. Anyone know how to contact the company?

Both mine and my buddy Will's saws started on about the 8th pull the first time. Make sure the choke is on, you have to pull the trigger when you push it all the way down. After it pops once flip the lever to mid choke it should start at that position then let it idle for 30sec to a min when you pull the trigger the choke will shut off the rest of the way. I did have a G111 come to me that the linkage for all of that was messed up and I had to fix that before it worked. My other G111 had no issue when i got it. The thing about these saws is that they are meant for people that like working on their own machines since there are no US dealers as of yet.

To be honest the issues with this saw are all packaging and courier related and no fault of Holzfforma. The logger boys, tell me that the plastic parts R kinda shity, if U use em hard throw em around or they get swatted. The pull starter housings and inner parts take a beating 2, so they swap em out for Stihl OEM pts. So I guess U kinda get watcha pay fer, A?

Well I'm not a logger but with minor care mine has lasted for almost 2 years and seems to perform quite well considering. I use it mainly for cutting slabs from hardwood such as oak, walnut, ash, and maple. It gets pretty hot but has remained running quite well. Not to say it would stand up to daily use but it has been a boon for me and more than paid for itself since I have has it.

@@DIYwithUncleCy mine doesn't seem to be running great.
when it is running it cuts great but that seems to be rare since i got it.
got it home the first time and filled it up and test run it (just run it without cutting) and then put it in my room.
next day i go to use it and doesn't start at all, ends up flooding itself.
took it into my car mechanic friend and we took a look at it and it looked ok but still would not run.
then we sent it to a Mennonite person who "opened it up and let it dry out" and then it was running again.
so today i used it to cut , ran it till it ran out of gas then let it sit for a while to cool down a bit so i could fill it up again and continue.
      wouldn't start again.
so now i have it back in my room again. i took the spark plug out and just sat it on the floor and we will see in the morning i guess if it will start again XD

im wondering if my fuel is no good.
the mennonite fellow said they suspected water got into the fuel fuel system but thing is , i never even run the chainsaw while it's raining and it's always in the house with me where it's nice and dry.
the only thing i can think of that might cause water in the system is maybe the fuel is bad somehow,
or maybe condensation from the chainsaw being so hot and then cooling down maybe ?
and especially today when it stopped running , didn't rain a single drop and was so hot.

@@logangraham2956 I have been operating chainsaws, as a professinal logger for over 45 years, and have tried out, wore out, and lets not forget wrecked, more saws than I care 2 remember. Most water/fuel problems that we had were from rain/snow getting in to transfer jugs, or bad fuel with water already in it. Also its not wise from my experiance 2 use ethanol gas. We have scored/blew a few saws relating back 2 this.
