The way barca played the 1st half was dominating. Once Romeo came in.. the intensity in the midfield droped and we went down.. I’m sad because we played well in the first half even till 70 minutes but i don’t know what happened after that. Fermin and ferran shouldn’t have subbed off. It could have been a draw we missed so many chances and gave them space. I was skeptical about this game since we didn’t have kounde but in the first half everyone played well but after 1st half we just messed up. And Gavi man he is so under appreciated player. As a Madrid fan, I agree. First half, Barca put our attack on a complete lockdown while Real Madrid’s defence was completely dependent on Carvajal, Kepa and a bit of luck.
But, I think both the teams need to improve a lot if they want to regain dominance in Europe just like good old days - 2009-2018.

A special mention for our Oriol Romeu. I dont like picking on one player but in this case I will coz the 2nd goal could have been stopped if Romeu would have used his defensive sense. You dont need to be world class to predict that run from Jude or to foul him. Jude simply ran past him as if he wasn't there. All Romeu had to do was pull Jude down, make a tactical foul but nope he did as he was bird watching at that moment. He didnt have that defensive awareness to stop Jude and you dont need to be a world class CDM to have such defensive awareness. I would say even a 15 years old kid would have the sense to tackle or foul Jude at that moment. Romeu is not a Barca level player. He is maybe good for a lower level team where players aren't demanded to perform at such high intensity unlike Barca. He was decent for the first few games because FDJ was playing alongside him. It was FDJ who did most of the defensive work and this actually fooled us Barca fans in thiking that Romeu is a good CDM. In reality he is below average. I would rather play Pau Prim or Casardo over Romeu and both of them will do a better job that him and this winter window Barca should go for a CDM coz if we play the entire season with Romeu as our only defensive midfielder, we are done for !!

Gavi is absolutely phenomenal defensively, pocketed Jude for the whole 70 min, while playing in a double pivot with Gundo. Gundo tried his best to replicate FDJ. I'd call Cancelo as a Wingback. Build up in 3 at the back. Rest to same hi tha. Baki Tchou and Kroos were in a double pivot, Bellingham was a CAM and Fede tucked in when Carvajal is in wings. Vini was a False 9.

Our main problem is we create so many chances and then don't finish them.
Lewa needs to step up . Its frustrating to see us creating chances after chances and not finishing them. Gundogan , cancelo , fermin , raphinha all created good chances .
Also Zee bhai as much as you like oriol romeu , I think he is not a barca level player by any means . I think Gundogan as a deep lying playmaker is doing great and controlling the tempo nicely . He has a gavi beside him who can cover his spaces and act as box to box ball carrier .
I think when all are fit I will rotate 2 midfield combinations :
Gundogan as deep lying playmaker and gavi as a box to box
Marc casado as deep lying playmaker and frenkie de jong as box to box
In the interiors we can play felix, ferran , fermin and pedri .

nice explanation ❤.but i think cancelo have played pretty well in that position , that was not our day or else the 2 nd goal he have conceded that was more about luck for real madrid than there skill . we have hit the bar near about 3 times or else the score line alag ho sakta tha .
There was not much tactical change by ancelloti apart from allowing camawinga to drift inside which allowed jude and vini to go freely and gavi had to double mark which created the chances. Oriol Romeo is not a player for classico level he lost a lot of balls , the second goal was a stroke of luck whereas the first goal was a masterclass. The main thing was midfield we lost the battle there even if we had FDJ we would have scored more goals for sure we lost the midfield battle against them.

Xavi is tactically better than ancelotti but ancelotti's experience helped with his composure. Xavi is game awareness is very good but Xavi didn't have composure and brought up Lewandowski, raphinha... Without vision. Barca Players don't have enough awareness of the tactics as they don't have chemistry. As the season progress chemistry, demands of the roles will be much clearer to the teams adaptability. Barca and Madrid both over thinked in the first half where Barca's tactics worked well but still they weren't perfect. Later madrid came to their besic and got Barca. I think they should have stayed in their besic from the first half. It might make the game more better. Yes it was a tactical game where both were trying to dominate midfield but doing that, I think, it would have made the game more direct and energetic. Yes this Derby is always energetic but it could have effected.

The only reason Jude was quiet in first half because of Joselu absence if he started his runs would have given Jude more space as soon as he came in Jude started getting space something which Rodrygo wasn't able to do

What carlo is doing is trying to give Rodrygo his confidence .. We need to have him Motivated for the remaining part of the season most importantly when important games come from February
