Interesting video as usual Jesse. I was secretary of the club where Dan Houston played all of his junior footy and even though those days are behind me I still correspond with his mother. She did say that he was/is very happy in Adelaide and has a house there. I was surprised at the reports that he wants to come back to Victoria but it has now been confirmed by him. Having said that I would see the Baggers as his most likely destination. He grew up following them and his best mate is or was Jack Silvagni. Dan and Jack played in the same team at our club and continued to play together at the Oakleigh Chargers. The big question of course is whether the Blues can lay their hands on the required capital.
@@Razor69240I agree with that Razor although they are off-loading a few players - presumably to make some space in their cap. As you say however, it does seem that they will be up against it. Dan isn't going to go there for peanuts.

I dare say given the incoming influx of teams from gold coast and tasmania, the price of established players moving between teams is way over inflated.
I think it’s funny that people will think Warner to the Eagles is possible but if someone says North can get Houston it’s ridiculous. What Darling will do is keep defenders honest. No more three guys on Larkey. I can see Curtis or Bull having a big year because of him. Great video as always.
Loving the content mate! Cheers for your thoughts on Darling. With the Lukosius situation. How do Geelong get Bailey Smith? They certainly don't have the draft capital momentarily and I don't think the Bulldogs are going to roll over on what they think he's worth
Why would Chad Warner leave a top club like Sydney to go to a bottom club like WCE? Players often do that when they are in their 30s and being squeezed out, not a young guy who has plenty of time to win another flag. Won't happen.
Not to mention he loves being in Sydney with his little brother Corey, and has spoken about the Bloods recruiting his 2 younger brothers in the future (who he says will be even better than him). Why would he leave a club at the top of the ladder on the cusp of a potential dynasty for one on the bottom at 23 years of age … 😂
Why would Chad Warner want to leave Sydney Swans? He could be a premiership player this Saturday. Warner hasn't mentioned being homesick, he would be going to a lesser club. He hasn't expressed wanting more money, personal issues or homesickness. And it wouldn't be chasing success, since he might be a premiership player shortly. It won't happen unless Warner wants it to happen,
Charlie Dixen will retire, Dan Houston will be traded. Lucocious can fit in the Port Adelaide forward line. Bad move by Hardwick as Gold Coast have to rely on Mac Andrews. Chad Warner won't leave Sydney. De Koning will stay in Geelong.soldo going to St Kilda would be interesting as Soldo couldn't beat Sweet, so why would he be main ruck at St Kilda.
Marshall plays better roaming the ground marking, tap work is average at best, Soldo #1 tap to advantage ruck this year, seems like the perfect spot to land in his preferred city with a team competing for finals next year.
I like Lokosius as a player but I don't think he solves the problem that Port have. The reason that Dixon was getting games even though the game has gone past him or if he is only half fit is because he is willing to put his body on the line, crash packs make somebody 'earn" their free kick. I think he will be a valuable recruit, eapecially if Marshall doesn't overcome the concussion stuff, but it still leaves them with the same issues. Lukosius isn't the kind of guy you are looking ovee your shoulder hoping that he isn't coming, he isn't going to be taking contested marks in packs or even one on one too often.
Ollie Lord was very unfortunate this season after looking great then a freak internal injury caused him to lose 10 kgs in weight and set him back this was followed by a leg injury in the first trial game which set him back again. He will be unlikely to have the same issues this year and with a good off/preseason will be like a new recruit…… remember his last game in 2023 he kicked 4 goals and looked impressive in the finals.
@@scottbennier1335 I agree, Lord has great potential, he doesn't solve the problem immediately though. It is hard to know what style of player he will become. He strikes me as a leading type who uses his height and reach to take the ball at it's highest point (like a Ben Brown) rather than a body on body contested mark player. He is young so could develop differently. I think the problem is that without a big body, contested mark player, it will need a bit of a change in game style. Port seem very reluctant to risk turning the ball over at half back, kicking to a leading forward opens that risk up. They seem to prefer to get the ball in deep and try to lock it in, which leaves leading forwards with not much to do. It is difficult to change too much when a side is in the premiership window. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Do they need to take a step back to go forward? can they change game style in transition? Can they just get Lukosius or Lord to play that role that is missing? That is all just my opinion. I am open to disagreements.
@@spindoctor6385 At least it will force Port to actually lower their eyes on a more consistent basis and also force the talls to move and create space. That does not stack up and it isn't a game of markers up in the school yard. Port has mids who can actually kick the ball well but for whatever reason, they still bomb the ball. Dixon playing was more of a detriment and caused more harm than good with his lack of mobility being very evident.
