- What I wish I knew as a freshman at Virginia Tech! VT is one of my favorite places on Earth, but I knew NOTHING about it before showing up in August of my freshman year. Incoming freshman? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. These are some of the most important tips and tricks (IMO) for when you roll into Blacksburg, ready to be a Hokie!

Great school. Went back in the 1980s. It's grown a lot since then, but still great. Excellent education.
I went to Virginia Tech two decades ago. Souvlaki is there on main street. I took karate at a dojo two buildings down and then went to have dinner at Souvlaki. They had lamb spinning inside the window. They would wrap wrap the sliced lamb , wrapped in pita bread with fresh vegetables and added homemade cucumber sauce. I always told them not to put in fresh onions as the onions overwhelm the taste of everything else.
Oh my god, this shit was so real! God damn, shit had me thinking "This shit is so real, god damn!" God damn!

Hi i got into Virginia Tech Early Action!
Class of '87 here. When I was a student we had the worst food in the dining halls. Scrod, the Blacksburger (aka mystery meat on a bun) and turkey tetrazzini were among the worst. 🤮Once a quarter, we would have shoe leather night, also known as steak night. Glad to see the dining has upped it's game over time.

Cabo Fish Taco is my fav restaurant in town! Other than that Greens, The Cellar, Zeppolis, Macados, and Mellow Mushroom😊

what dorm do you recommend for someone that doesn't want to have a community bathroom and wants to have air condition..
I was in New Hall West which had both private, in-room bathrooms and AC! I’m pretty sure besides some of the athlete housing, there’s no other dorms with private bathrooms, but anything that is a suite style, you only be sharing a bathroom with 3-6 other people.
In that place also occured the 2007 shooting
