- Join me and see how I deal with a power outage. I was not planning to do the July challenge, but a big storm knocked out my power and I thought it would be fun to make a video of it.
#stealthcampingalliance #survivalchallenge
Thanks @simpleoutdoors1 for setting this challenge!
#poweroutage #solargenerator #chargriller
Robin the stealth suitcase power station is the bees knees! Love your kitties 😻❤!
Thank you! I need to update it with better LifePo4 or Li-Ion batteries now that they are fairly cheap. The kitties did not care at all that the power was out. Lol.
I really like that grill set up you have! I'd be cooking tortillas all day on that. lol
Way to make lemonade with the "lemon" of a power outage you had thrown at ya! You are one prepared lady! I feel like once you are a camper and backpacker, you are well on your way to find creative solutions for life's challenges. Cute kitties!
Looks like you are all set to ride out the power loss with all your gear and gadgets!! Great video!
Thanks! The cats could not care less if the power goes out. As long as they still get fed. LOL
Yes, campers and hikers are always at least somewhat prepared.
You never cease to amaze me with your gadgets and kit. A bug out bag, great idea. We just have candles ready. I need to reassess.
I have a tendency to over do it occasionally. Lol. I do want to make a dedicated bug out bag. Something that has everything and shelter for 2-3 days.
Love the video n all the cool 😎 stuff u make ur brilliant n the food looked great 😊
Thanks Debbie! That sandwich was delicious!
Great survival video Robin!🎬👏⛈💡🔦Loved the gear review and the food!🔪🌭Glad the power came back on before bed time! 🌆🛌Thanks for sharing!🙏#stealthcampingalliance🥷🏕🤘
Thanks John! I was glad it came back on too!
Sorry missed it but watching it today ❤
Thanks Debbie.
Great video! That cat tree you have is also outstanding!
Thanks. It was a good deal on Amazon. And 2 out of my 3 cats love it!!
@@Hojangle I built the one I have back when I was in school and used it as a very good excuse to buy a number of power tools. My cats used it more when they were younger but one of them still climbs it sometimes. Hell, I built it so strong that even I can climb it. lol
@@whoever6458 Awesome! 😁
Awesome video Robin! I missed the premier but just watched it with the live chat scrolling. You guys were on a roll! 🤣🤣🤣 I hate I missed this one! Cheers! 🥷⛺️💫
No worries. It is hard to make everyone’s premieres. Glad you liked it! It was definitely spur of the moment.
Great videa Hojangle, really lik'd the homade pwr bank! & in a suitcase! Enjoyd as alwayz! have a great day!
Thanks BK!!
Good job!
Thank you!
Well done for participating Robin, you were pushed for time and have things going on but still put the effort in, very active member! awesome
Thanks Steve!!
I enjoyed-- and learned a lot-- from your video....gave me some ideas as how to be better prepared! I'm in awe of your engineering/electrical skills. Love the kitty-cat-cameo, too! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!! I always like to be prepared. And the kitties are spoiled rotten. Lol Glad you enjoyed it! I am thinking about a whole video series on preparedness.
@@Hojangle That'd be entertaining and immensely helpful!
Nice... I love all the prep you have. I need to build my MRE,s up to last me a few months. I will be joining you if we have a zombie apocalypse.
Yes! I probably have 5-6 months' worth of food for one person. More every time I run the freeze dryer. 😁
very cool video, I love seeing what other people have in their survival bags, even I have one though I hardly ever leave the house, lol
the homemade power bank was freaking awesome though!! very impressive solution, as they are pretty expensive to buy, I have my eye on a jackery, but would need to have some kind of large windfall to afford one
Thanks Lola! They have come down in price some, but I think Jackery is overpriced. I really want to built a system that can power my lights, fridge, and freezer for a couple days.
You rock sweet 💜 hearts
Thank you. This was definitely a last minute one.
That's a really cool power bank that you built! I have thought of building one too but I can't afford the parts. At least I have a couple of power banks to keep a charge on my phone. One them is solar and so, between the two, I can keep my phone charged on the sun's energy alone, which I did when I was homeless. Back then, I even had a phone with a broken battery so that it would use up the charge if I used it for an hour or so, but I still kept it charged with those two power banks.
Yea, the parts were fairly expensive. But still less than half the cost of a commercial power bank that size. The small bank are definitely good if you are moving from place to place all the time and do not want to attract attention to them. I always carry at least one on stealth camps.
@@Hojangle I always carry the two I showed on my video because I'm the type of person who never knows when I will end up on a random adventure and it's good to be able to keep my phone charge in case things go poorly (not that anything but Google maps has actually helped so far though lol).
I used to make all kinds of electrical shit when I was younger but now I mostly fix shit I already have if something malfunctions. My brother somehow lost all the tips to my soldering gun when I let him borrow my tool chest so that hinders things to be sure.
@@whoever6458 That sucks. Never good when somebody borrows something and does not take care of it.
glad to see you have a back up for your back up, top prepper :)
I try!
Watch'n now!
Surthrival😊
Great video Robin 👊❤️
Thanks Jenny!
Aw, kitties!
😻😻😻
Well, I know where im going when the apocalypse happens. Haha.
Very well prepared. You totally click bated me on this though, I thought we were going to see some storm action. :P
Thank you for sharing this with us Robin.
Much respect
If it happens, come on! Lol. Yea I had no plans to do the challenge this month. Then the storm came through. I got a little Timelapse for me. But after the power went out, I decided I might as well make a video. Glad you enjoyed it.
It’s absolutely survival, when it’s 97 and a power outage. The suit case power bank is really nice.
Thanks Cathy!
your like full stocked up for the zombie apocalypse love it we now officially big hojangle fans to what is the name of your other channel we lived off grid for a couple of years and had all our 12 volt stuff we bought and built our own set up as well love it nice food to we went vegan for a while after that crazy netflix documentary to we stopped for some reason I think having so many kids dad got over it as meat is an easier option cool stuff mate
Thanks! Yes I am ready. Lol. I mostly got a freeze dryer because there were not that many vegetarian options in commercially available camp meals like Mountain House. And companies that have more are very expensive. Mine other channel that my girlfriend and I have is an Urbex channel called The Ramblers Exploration. We explore all kinds of abandoned places. Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it!
😊
When those SLA batteries give up the ghost do you plan to convert your DIY unit to LiFePO4? I love pb for their resiliency and simplicity (no BMS needed), but LiFePO4 is supposed to last a decade or more, even if you're cycling it constantly. I feel like LiFePO4 may be a waste though if they are used in a backup-only application.
Love your channel; just subscribed to you on Instagram. I've noticed vegetarian protein in your meals, are you vegetarian? I am not but I always find peoples' dietary programs interesting.
Yes, I definitely plan to replace them. Not sure if I will use LifePo4 or just Li-Ion. Like you said, since it will not be recharged everyday. I have been thinking about building a large system to power my lights, refrigerator, and freezer. That would for sure be LifePo4. I went Vegetarian about 12 years ago. I did add fish and seafood back in a few years ago.
