- British Sign Language is the preferred language of 145 000 Deaf people in the UK. This video explains how BSL is made up:
1. Your signing space
2. Your face - mouth, eye, eyebrows (non-manual features)
3. Your head
4. Handshapes
5. Your body
**NOTE: I speak in my videos to help hearing people watching to learn the signs. However, when you sign, you should turn your voice OFF.**

Is there much difference btw Bsl and Asl
Hi Sue. Yes. American Sign Language has its roots in French Sign Language, but BSL does not. It is more one-handed. BSL is a two-handed language. They are two separate languages.
