I’m probably too young to give you any advice that you haven’t already figured out yourself, but as a young guy I can say there’s nothing cooler than seeing somebody still being themselves despite what people on this rock try to say. I’m rambling long story short is don’t give up and don’t give bad because you could directly influence the next generation even if you’re 80 (I’m speaking generally)
I love how they talk about the music was already there. This is what I love about the peppers the most. Their brotherhood. These guys are my brothers from other mothers.
I absolutely love Mother's Milk. BSSM, Californication and By The Way, but I think they were at their best as a band for this album. All straight and narrow, practicing 4-8 hours every day. "Dani California" to me is the quintessential RHCP song. I'm not saying all their best music is on this one, because BSSM will always be my favorite. I just feel like they were all perfectly in tune with each other during the recording of this.
I agree 100%. They were all at their best. Sober, experienced, and getting along. I think BSSM has the better moments than SA, but SA is more solid as a whole.
i've always seen chad as something of an outsider/lone-wolf in the band... he's this great big force in the band, that's undeniable, but his vibe seems totally separate to the others, which is totally cool, just an observation. but recently reading that flea and him never hang out outside of official band business kinda' made me sad- i wonder if that's the case with chad and the others? but hearing ak suggest they have this super deep bond makes me wonder if john and chad ever kick it outside the band? would be a random/unlikely combo, but would be so cool.
it's a very good album. These guys really worked in absolute harmony with each other at this time. The music videos for the songs of this album are also very good.

Yeah I agree, there’s clearly a hierarchy between them vs Chad and John going on. Some of that is from being the founding members of the band, some of it is from Anthony’s insatiable ego, but altogether we wouldn’t have the Chili Peppers if it weren’t for these guy’s often abrasive attitudes.
