The Allman Brothers, one of the greatest bands. For me, it will always be with Duane when they were at their best. However, I always felt that Dicky Betts was underated. Not Fade Away, a Buddy Holly song of course, but surely the most iconic version of this song is by The Rolling Stones. Cheers and regards as always. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Many bands have used the "Bo Diddley beat" in their songs, including Buddy Holly when he wrote NFA. The Allmans can do no wrong, so anytime they borrow a phrase from someone else, they do it with a ton of style. Warren Haynes, with either Gov't Mule or his solo band, also does a bunch of Allman tunes when he is touring. And who else but the GD could take a 2:10 Buddy Holly tune and turn it into a 12 minute jam? Answer, no one.
@@bobschenkel7921 Cheers Bob. They are not particularly one of my favourite bands either. It's was just that I found their version of NFA to be very very good with some excellent guitar work! Cheers. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
Love it when you said your Dad introduced you to the Allmans, same with me!
You normally see my comments on GD reviews but ABB is sick! Possibly some of my fave music ever is 6/10/73 ABB playing with GD. Ridiculous!

Sorry, but I beg to differ.
Black Oak Arkansas' 9 minute plus live version is better in my opinion.
But each to his own eh?
Cheers. 😊😎🎸🇬🇧🇺🇦
@@stevehanham9266 No prob. Every band has their fans. Black Oak Arkansas were a very good band, but...never my fave. Glad you dig 'em Steve. Peace.
