Originally introduced in 2017, the Puma Future series has undergone quite a bit of change over the last 7 years, with almost all of the flagship features of the first couple, no longer being present on the latest models. For 2024 however, Puma is looking to change that, and bring some hype back to the Future series! Have they been successful though?
In today's video we take a closer look at the new Puma Future 7 Ultimate FTR, boots that revise almost all of the tech introduced in last years Future Ultimate, making for something that admittedly looks similar, but fits and feels quite a bit different. We discuss the good, the bad and where these rank amongst all the other options in the "control" boot category. Will you be considering the Future 7 in 2024?

The Puma Future is carrying the Puma line so hard right now. It seems to be their only outright good boot. 😐
I actually thought the Ultras were great and thought they had the best touch feel on the ball compared to the portals and mercurials
I see professional players wearing Ultras on the regular.
@@mnr612 I feel the mercs and X crazyfasts are more comfortable to a more wide variety of foot shapes.

The non conical studs on the Future killed it for me.
Their semi conical studs on the old Future were awesome.

Foot hugging aspect 100% appealing. But, pwr tape bit kinda reminds me of one of those gimmicky strap on kicking aides meant to help kids with form & striking position.
Looks awesome; loved the previous version.
Puma needs to clean up there line up. If it wasn’t for the futures I think Puma would be having a tough time 😮 these look super clean 🧼
I think the PWR tape will be a good addition. I found on previous futures as I wore them a lot the stretchy band would really loosen up too much and not give me as good of a wrapped sensation as they did out of box
Z1.4 felt much better than the version after. I also had to go down half size on the latter as they felt longer in toebox, but lockdown nowhere near as good as z1.4. Haven’t gotten to future 7 yet.

Tried these on today. The power tape was jamming the right lace down on to the top of my foot so hard it started hurting within seconds. Not for me.

So still a dead empty space in the toes area!?? That sucks cause its the only thing that is pushing the boot for a lower quality in my opinion, that strange fit upfront. Otherwise they would be great

Curious, I had last years futures, gf/ag but they got destroyed quick on ag. Wanted to know if I got a dud or anyone else have durability issues. Love everything else about the futures
The last models have a serious sole separation issue not even 2 months and mine started to separate hopefully these address that problem

Same here, and I play always on a natural grass pitch. Soleplate on Puma Future Z 1.4 started to separate after third training session. From fit and comfort they are all great but the quality is very poor.

Are you talking about the FG or AG version? And are you using the FG on ag pitches? I've just got mine and getting a feel of how they are before I decide to keep them.
I had the tiempo 10, they had the worst ball touch and comfort. Switched to these and they are a dream

I am a big fan of the padded liner in the toe box of my Future 1.3’s. Wondering if these FTR’s have that same padded toe box? Thank you 👍🏼
Pretty well every Future model since 1.3 has maintained a similar thickness and slightly padded feel to the upper. Not exactly the same, but close.
@@SoccerreviewsforyouJosh how would you feel about an Ultra 1.4 Fuscia but in a laceless variation where the unique grip on the forefoot now extends to cover the upper with AG Pro tooling? I think Puma needs to get on this & give the people (well maybe just me) what they need!

AG boots will be much better on AG ground. TF boots are too slippery on AG
The puma futures are no question the best boots I ever had. Especially the ones released in 2023.

The Future Z 1.3 are still one of my go to boots. The future series has been criminally underrated.

They’re similar in some ways, but these are softer and have more of a padded feel. The Nike Phantom GX 2 Pro would be the closer boot in terms of feeling like the original GT 👍

There hasn't been one in a few generations of Future now, so I would doubt it. I would personally consider these to be low-cut though.

The Puma logo is so aesthetically unpleasant in my opinion, so as long as that’s subtle I’m all good. Also, these still have that ugly ‘Future’ writing but at least that’s on a dark upper which makes it less visible
If you told me they were Sondico or Kipsta I wouldn’t question it. Aesthetically very unpleasant to me 🫤
