Born in Galicia (an autonomous community in northwest Spain, with the official status of a historic nationality), Carlos Nuñez began playing the bagpipes at the age of eight. He met Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains as a teenager and later became known as the "7th member" of the band. In Europe, he plays to sold out stadiums and arenas. He has toured throughout the world and continues to wow audiences with his high-spirited Celtic music.
Nunez kicked off his latest North American tour from the intimate confines of The Burren Irish Pub in Somerville, Massachusetts. This is their closing encore of the night, "Aires de Pontevedra".

Simply FANTASTIC!! Carlos Núñez is the best Galician bagpipe player of the world!!. I saw Carlos plays live in Granada, Spain, 20 years ago with The Chieftains and was a non forgettable experience. BRAVO, CARLOS!!
Un grand classique de Carlos merveilleusement interprété
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. Carlos puts on a great show.
Ive seen this guy live twice, its one of the best concerts one can see.
couldn´t agree more, he played at my hometown in northern Mexico many years ago and, contrary to what I wouldve guessed, EVERYONE at the concer danced to his music and felt the magic fill the air.

Wow - I really like this ! Great video, Galician Bagpipes !
Gaita (not quite the same as bagpipes)
bellisima musica!
¡Grande Carlos!
O meu orgullo é absolutamente galego e europeo. Non preciso de perendengues españois.
great carlos.....
Me encanta!!
Requedo Sharon Shannon on “The Diamond Mountain Sessions” ? Bravissimo!
The lady at the beginning saying "caliente" :). She wanted to say "calor", refering to the hot weather. Ohh… Spanish...
No. La mujer, claramente hispanoamericana, no dice "caliente" queriendo decir calor.
@@c.revirada I rather be happy than be right. Get some good headphones though, and listen to Carlos say right before "It's hot eh!"... "Boston, good place for holidays!"... man's not referring to Boston's sightseeing, nor the lady's talking about food. Just wathing the video again. Look at all of them sweating their asses off. LOL.
El día 1 a qué hora???
is that a 12 string nylon-stringed guitar?
It's a viola caipirinha. For you, a Caipiran viola from Brazil's region Caipira.
