I just stumbled across this video. I’m grateful that you actually mentioned that Oya is the guardian of the transitioning of souls into the afterlife.. without her there is no Egungun festival! This is a huge ability of hers, that is often forgotten.
I believe the X-Men’s Storm was stated to be the mortal incarnation of Oya though she was also stated to have been an Egyptian Goddess at another story.
@@stevengreen9536 It is rumored that Igbos came out of Kingdom of Kush many of the deities are similar like Anhur / Ogun. Hatmehit (Mother of fishes) Yemaya
0:00 So this is Oya quite impressive. 0:33 Seriously she has the power to summon winds and Storms 1:00 She stab him a with a digger 1:30 What!? Shango was angered appear holding a lighting bolt throughout the village but was stopped by Oya causing any more damage. 1:50 People watch Oya was great dance and songs in celebrate party! 👏👏 Love that story of Oya ( Iansã ) The Powerful Orisha of Winds and Storms. Now that was quite amazing Yoruba Mythology history. Totally impressive!
Why isn't there a movie about Yoruba mythology? Because some people prefer to blackwash European stories, like the story about Ariel than take something genuinely African and make a new movie or show.
@@ozymandiasultor9480 I hear Hercules will be getting the same treatment. It sucks their are tons of African and non European myths that would make great stories but Hollywood is to lazy to try them
Modern studios are too lazy to research mythologies worldwide 🌐 😪 They are also very political and openly biased in their agendas. That little mermaid movie was nonsense and i live in the Caribbean. Mermaids don't originate from here, smh
wow that's very beautiful woman God winds Oya and beautiful name and easy name Jah I love that aye wow that's awesome 💯 video absolutely I love your video my dear brother father.

@vginsprdsobepr Idk about those parts of Storm's back story. But chances are Oya was the inspiration for Storm.

Maybe
Yes they was stan Lee and the folks at marvel was deep into mythology and paganism
Oya is a Yoruba Diety not just an Afro-Brazilian deity.

Because they rather get martyrized by rightists when they bastardize an overexposed mythology/legend.

I want to know, who’s the equivalent of Zeus and Odin in this Pantheon???!
Olorun is the supreme deity with great authority. While Shango is the god of lighting, thunder and fire.
