It's nice to see land being reserved and developed as outdoor space! Man, that really adds to the quality of life when searching for a place to settle.

I'm glad Wild Rivers is back it's not Irvine without Wild Rivers Orange County needs to have another water park so Knott's Soak City it's not the only Water Park in Orange County 🌊🎢

And why, you ask, did the water park right next to El Toro close? How about a string of medical suits filed by customers of that water park due to illness and hospitalizations after visiting the park and being exposed to the Superfund toxic waste in the water.

Land sold to fund this project is fully residentially developed. Meanwhile back at "the project", largely green, a few roads, a small number of buildings on one portion nearest to the camera.. . What did they do with the money, again? Don't see much expenditures on camera for "the project". Wait, is that "slushing sound" as easy for you to hear as for me? Just asking. 😗😗😗 Edit: It occurs to me, if memory serves, the El Toro air base had EPA site issues, perchlorate, if I remember. Hmm, water quality at Great Park would be problematical. And the proposed new water park? With contaminated water? CANCER-CAUSING WATER? Hmm, well maybe the public has a short memory about HAZMAT groundwater issues. Thanks, CBS! I'm certain the Orange County public appreciates this piece of hard-hitting promo. . er, investigative journalism. Must be a winning SOFTBALL team at the station. Keep up the good work!

The firm that audited the finances of this park project lost their license and was fined half a million because they "'failed to comply with professional standards, engaged in numerous acts of negligence, and disseminated false and misleading information' in performing the Great Park audit."
It's funny how the accounting firm took the hit for this dirty deal but the politicians who misused the money get away free.

@@teerollings6919 They forgot aviation gas spillage from 1945 to the closing of El Toro, and where ARE the EPA groundwater studies and reports for El Toro "buried" at? Which senators signed off on the EPA waivers for El Toro? Who's lobbyists spread lots of dirty cash around The Hill to get this land sale done? Uh, look at the residential development, packed to the brim, to the last inch, with high-value paying mortgages. What bank handled that land sale? Was it the national bank chain associated with now-retired California State Senator Barbara Boxer and her banking executive husband? And how much DID they make off the sale of this poisoned, deadly ground? It involves transfer of federal land to the State of California, so it HAD TO go through Ms. Boxer's hands, eh? No other channel for the transfer. The poisoned land and water at El Toro is on Her hands. The businessmen that applied financial favor to the Boxers were only sidemen in this California tale of graft, corruption, and debauchery.

Sorry...the best park I've ever seen and gone too is the Gathering Place in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Its free! I highly suggest family visit.
    The kids will love it.

homes for the homeless in irvine?☠️☠️ is that a joke? I’ve seen cops in irvine literally pick up homeless people put them in their cars and drive away 😭 they probably drop them off in santa ana or anacrime. i have rarely seen a homeless person in irvine i doubt they would do that they’ll just make 1 million dollar condos to sell to the rich

They've been promising this park since I moved down here 18 years ago and it is still a big nothing. Oh, but they've developed and sold tons of homes in the "park neighborhoods".

I mean it’s a recreational center with multiple fields for the several sport events that happen every weekend? What else is there supposed to be?

There’s a hot air balloon ride, a water park set to open this summer, and an amphitheater. Seems like a pretty nice park to me..
