The game scans for players to help, but what message pops up? Would love to help new players work through these but don't want to join nonrelated player side quests. Do they differ in their message?

It's not greed that killed the game. This is a lame excuse. Greed would have been unlocking updates behind large amounts of gold. The people making the game today are not the same people who made GTA or even RDR2. The people in charge now gave you the Naturalist role as the other roles were already in the game during before the beta was even launched. Watch the introduction to RDO for proof. They have become what they used to make fun of.
Personally, I think R* is very pooly run company and can't maintain their products. Medal of Honour collapsed after several years of large sales only to be swamped by COD.
I am level 900+, currently have over 750 gold, $850,000+ dollars and have purchased everything in the game (apart from all horses and saddles as you can’t own them all at once)… and I still love playing this game every day.

I've been playing for almost a year, rank 346, 283,000 , 596 gold bars. Bought what I wanted and needed there is a lot I haven't bought I'd admit but I'm not really interested in it... I love to play online for the beauty and the relaxation of the game . I'm a friendly player with zero interest in PvP and very rarely shoot back, I'm actually happy Rockstar haven't updated rdr2 online as a regular as GTA 5 online because look what they have done with GTA talk about milking a dead cow the poor thing is a pile of rotting bones and still getting milk from it .. I don't want to see flying horses that have lasers come out of the eyes and bombs coming out of the horses butthole because knowing Rockstar Games they would bring that idea to rdr2 online like they did with the mrk2 oppressor. I would love a property or two and more horses and being able to own more horses and guns and clothes to buy but besides that I'm happy with how it is now and I hope gta6 doesn't come out for another year or two so I can enjoy how rdr2 online is now before they concentrate on it and start milking rdr2 and ruin it . I love the game and the detail of it still blows my mind. Keep playing riding and grinding and remember new players rdr2 online is not GTA online so don't be a d@#k. Your statistics highlight one of the the games real weaknesses, and that is that when many players start with RDO, they have no idea how to play - what to do, how to start. Just last night, I bumped into a Rank 4 player who was confused as to how to play, and I am confident that many leave the game not properly understanding what the objectives are, how to build their roles, and how to gain the most enjoyment out of the game. And that is purely Rockstar's fault.
I stopped playing RDO about 6 months ago. I had roughly $70,000 and 400 gold bars, and my character was over level 400. I owned pretty much everything. Outfits, weapons, horses, roles (all maxed out) etc. I had so much fun for how long I was on there, but most of my friends stopped too. It’s completely abandoned. It’s rare to see a lobby with more than 7 people in it.
Me too, just over level 500, close to $80k close to 3000 gold bars, and I own everything that doesnt cost gold. Everything is maxed out. All the Naturalist stuff done. I want to play more but hunting and delivering is only fun for so long. I abandoned it about 3 months ago.
What about poker? Once I completed almost all missions and activities and got relatively rich, my favourite fun was playing poker! And I was enjoying even loosing, as $$$ were practically worthless.
I bought gold bars for my friends and I, when we went on a 5-day theme trip for my birthday to hang out and game. R* messed up and customer service messed up and twice made me film a video of myself clicking through the screens to prove I’d bought bars, and we didn’t get the gold until the last day. We ended up playing AC Valhalla and mostly setting ourselves on fire a lot, and now I have a bunch of gold bars but am otherwise generally broke all the time. ETA: Anecdotally, when I’m online there’s either a few 30-ish level people + a lot of people
What really killed RDO online was the nerf of collector in 2020-2021, making necklaces/bracelets & jewellery spawns randomized really screwed with: Bounty Hunter -> searching for valuables within 30 minute timer before handing in bounties -> grinding collections -> doing blood money opportunities -> Look around for legendary animals when bored -> selling legendary carcasses to trader -> do moonshine supplies -> sell moonshine -> do trader mission/sale -> rinse and repeat looking for collections in-between time. The update really messed up my flow to the point where collections aren't even worth grinding anymore, sure eggs and tarot cards + antique bottles have fixed locations to but kinda boring looking for the same 3 things over and over again

I really hope R* gets burned by GTA VI. I have a feeling its gonna suck, given the recent news and the fact that the major players in GTA series have left R* in the recent years.

I think the naturalist expansion was cool for the legendary animals, but the lady death screaming whenever you accidentally kill or hunt an animal too close to her really was something I could've done without
You don't even need to be too close... If you get ambushed somewhere on the map by an animal and kill it in self-defense, Harriette will know no matter how far away she was when that happened. For me the Naturalist-role ended with executing tranquillized animals right in front of Harriette and throwing the carcasses into her tent.
My friend would run over a squirrel and get sprayed... I would slaughter animals for trader role and still be able to talk to her so it generally seems unreliable. Also, I think the compendium was a nice addition for those interested in completing it in online, even if sampling and photographing is a bit unnecessary (also tranqing animals is fun to mess around with)
Its pretty cool that there are more players that has completed the game more than once compared to completing it only once... says a lot about the story. The fact is I personally thought the game was a bit slow in the beginning, I still liked it but it felt a bit overwhelming.. but once you get past chapter 4/5 it’s like you build a strong connection with the story and the characters. No other game has ever done that, atleast in my experience, and from there I was pretty much hooked
I just don't know how players (especially players that have completed everything) can continue to log into this game when Rockstar officially called off future support/content for the game.
They just like the game. they hunt, play poker, joke around with friends. I know some that still do. I put the game down only a month ago. Level 650 2nd character lever 250. Games dont have to be a grind for the 'next update" people still just enjoy the world that was built.

People that voted Bounty Hunters at 9:45 are just dumb new players who didn't know Bounty Hunter role was introduced with Frontier Pursuits. The second best update was Moonshiners, anyone who disagrees with that is delusional.
50,000+ cash, 1800 gold (never purchased), level 482, haven’t finished purchasing entire catalogue (but close), I enjoy races (far more during Beta), least favorite role is bounty hunter, all stable slots full of horses (though I only use my Foxtrotter with the skull mask from outlaw pass 1… her name is Voorhees), and these days I play to fill my satchel with small animal carcasses:)
I haven't played RDO in over a month now. It's sad that my level 550 character has over 1500 gold bars, is just sitting in their inventory with nothing to do with it. I adored the game, and made many friends in-game, but taking a break from the grind has been good for me, particularly after learning it's been abandoned.
On the topic of money, I own everything in the catalogue you can buy with cash, every hat every variation of the same hat, every shirt, pants, EVERYTHING lol...and I still have 50k
As a somewhat recent player the issue I have is that my cash is constantly in a flux given I spend it as fast as I make it, free roam missions give fuck all cash so I dont really do them much and the same goes for bounties outside of bounty bonus month, my main income sources are moonshiner and Trader, honest pay for mostly honest work, what can I say Im good at hunting and I can bean a deer in the head with my bow from a decent distance from a shire. The first thing i got were weapons and weapon upgrades Then it was stables horses and saddles (And yes I did buy 10) And then it was pamphlets and now its just clothes, I did buy gold a few times but it was always the lowest teir option since daily challenge streaks are stressful I dont really like doing PVP and most of my player kills are with friends for shits and gigs Race series should be called cavalry series and outside of one where you have to light the fires being the only one I like its just kinda shit I only do them with friends and im usually not very good
I love Red Dead Online and I lovr Red Dead Redemption 2. I love the world and the environment. I haven't played jn months however. And it legitimately makes me sad. But there is only so many bounties I can hogtie before even the beauty of this game can't hold me anymore.

I started playing last December and according to the stats in game i have had 732.38 gold during my play, I have spent 527.00, and currently have 188.03 gold. That doesn't add up, I guess "earned gold" does not count something. The best looking horses in my opinion are Kladruber, Dutch Warmblood, and Hungarian Half-bred. Yes, I am trying to not ride horses that everyone rides.
PVP against low honour characters always aim for the horse! Usually it goes down with one dirty pistol shot from very long distance and it always will be a mercy kill, cause the poor thing is starving since it spawned in. 😆
got 30k dollars 30 gold bars and pretty much everything owned in these game even trinkets lol. hadn't played in months until I decided today to pop on and see whats up ....the server to my surprise was full and half of them were around 1-10 level .....and actually enjoyed my time playing this game again even tho the playthrough lasted about 1 and a half hour or so
I have 1000gb and 50k cash and that's after I blew a load on cosmetics I'll never use. What kept me going through the grind was knowing that when the properties and new content finally drop, I'll be living like a king with anything I want after my graft. Now all that has been taken away I just dont have any motivation to do yet another moon shine run or fill another hunting wagon. I just have a pile of gold to sit in a field and look at. Never paid real money for gold and have to admit most was made before they nerfed the daily challenges. This was the 1st online game I really got into and it sure has put me off starting another MMO game
I like naturalist. It makes trader easier as you don't need to spend a long time hunting for materials. 4 legendary sighting missions to get 100 goods to sell is worth the occasional spraying. Definitely not a first role though. I am shocked about moonshiner role. Once you finish the 5 missions and upgrade your equipment, it makes more money than the trader overall. 4 resupplies for the trader to be ready which you can sell 4 batches of moonshine. $800 vs $625. Edit...the $800 is after subtracting the cost of mash and you do at least 1 bootlegger mission

190k $ and 1600+ Goldbars. Grinded most before they nurfed the gold farming. Since then, I slowly stopped playing, until the release of the BS telegram missions (then I fully stopped) . Huge world, but no interest in pushing creativity (like all corporations) , just vanilla safe money makers that might lead to huge payouts.
In Red Dead your horses are equivalent to your cars in GTA. Rockstar could earn a lot more money if they sold extra horse stables for gold and special horse coat colors with high stats for gold. The could even just be extra lazy and just add the horses in story mode that aren't available yet online. Many people would buy gold to get these horses to flex. Or like me keep grinding the game to earn them for fun.

I only have 5 horses because there's an achievement to do so. I used 2 horses regularly until I did achievement hunting, and got 3 more horses and horse stands..

How can you play because at the moment I can't even install the game. Normally I install it in less than an hour and on the last attempt it shows me that I have to wait a whole day. Then I entered a forum where many players crying about the same problem.For the moment are some problems with server I think.
If we are talking about honor lvl, most of the time I had max high honor lvl but then changed for as low as possible. I just found it handy that most players would stay away when I had low honor. But If even that attracted someone happy to fight I was good with guns and redy for some fun ^^. Ahhh sometimes I miss playing RDO.
Do people ever wonder if the not listening to fans is a sign that "entertainment" is not really the goal of this developer? It seems more like R* is a violence and chaos trainer. I love RDO but everything about GTA turns my stomach, if R* thought they were creating a western skinned GTA then they REALLY don't know "Western" fans or what wanna-be cowpoke want. I see players all the time commenting on how beautiful the environment is as they walk around like they are tripping on acid. Not just new player either, long time players will make comments when waiting on a timer or for another player, even after hundreds of hours of game play. RDO still has HUGE POTENTIAL but they are own by a studio unable to understand why RDO has so much potential. Smash, blow up, burn, repeat - R*'s version of fun (education?).
I used Gold on CAPPYTAYLAY when it 1st came out bc I had over 1000GB and didnt know how easy it was to acquire when I saw it on the menu to purchase. Yeah I sold a BUNCH of sets to Nazar to get straight to top level of blood money update and didnt know what was NOT worth spending for (ie CAPPYTAYLAYLAY)

Red Dead Online is not profitable. Why? Because the investors behind take 2 expect billions in revenue not millions. But that's still money you might say? The difference is similar to a job offer that pays you 3 EUR compared to a salary of 3000 EUR. 3 EUR is still money, but you would not take that job.
Rockstar Games has no damn clue how much money they're leaving on the table by sunsetting RDO. Most of my friends who got bored of GTAO, tried out and liked RDO. And vice versa. All Rockstar Games had to do was properly support both games... sadly, the Rockstar of our childhood is what's dead.
I'm boycotting Rockstar now, I'll only play games I already own that they cannot profit off of (specifically Red Dead 1 and 2). I refuse to play GTA Online anymore and won't be buying GTA 6
I bought gold bars because it kept feeling like I was missing out on things to do- Because of the Roles costing so much gold bars, and it taking ~10 daily challenges to make a single gold piece, with the starting ammount being .1 for each challenge completed (yes you can earn them through other content, but again- you get .12 or maybe a little more) Me and a friend mitigated this slightly by having one of us buy the Bounty Hunter and the other buy Trader, and we'd join eachother on each tasks- But then we saw the Naturalist cost 25, and then the Collector also, Moonshiner eventually too.. So I bought gold to buy the roles, thinking of it more like buying DLC than anything. After that though, I've no idea what someone would need to buy gold for. Sure, some equipment needs like 5 gold, but thats mostly asthetics at that point. They really should redo the outlaw pass or like how they had the halloween pass that I missed. Theres so many references to stuff requiring it, but no way to get it.
In defence of the horse races, it's the best way to level up for players like me, who sticks around because I'm the weird horse girl that grew up 😂 I buy gold bars for things like new roles and the nice horses, but that's it. I have 3 total characters in RDO, and all 3 have a full stable of 10 horses 😆 If I could buy more, I would, but I tend to stick to the Turks, role breeds, and the best horses in the game, the mustangs! Back when the Outlaw Pass was still a thing, I bought gold bars for that, every time, without fail. Now, there's just not much incentive. I only recently switched to PC and began a new character, and now what keeps me from playing is all the f*cking glitches. I never had this many problems on PS4, on which I had 2 characters on different profiles, and also logged on with my husband's character to get some gold for him sometimes, because he can't stand the grind. And he's a longtime PC guy, so yes, he's been helping me with fixes and settings to minimize glitches. It's still intolerable. And, something interesting you may not be aware of, but if you play as a female character and then a male character, you'll notice the female characters get griefers harassing them at least twice as much. I'm not gonna say "female gamers have it worse", because there's men who play female characters all the time, I'm just noticing the general difference in experience depending on which model you choose. And yes, I made all the extra characters just to get more horses 🤣
I think that it is at lvl 100-300 where the players begin to buy the more expensive things, like the fence pamphlets and spending gold bars on weapon customisation. This would explain why that portion of people are low on money. They are making a lot of money and are just constantly spending it. After a while, they run out of weapons to customise and clothes to buy so they earn more money than they spend.
Yes but pvp you only have 125k viewers how could you possibly reach everyone? I mean see your content even though I'm not surprised. And I actually sort of like horse races I just wish they would get rid of battling in horse races. I enjoy all types of racing. Car, horse, plane, and boat racing. I even enjoy the occasional parkour.

I have not finished the story online for this game I think I finished it on Xbox but not PlayStation and I did not finish the story mode because on Xbox online mode had just come out and I wanted to delete my online character but I accidentally deleted my story mode character And I never went back and started playing it again in the last two years or so I’ve started playing this game on PlayStation and have played some of the story on PlayStation and I am rank 100 and something and I have bought gold bars before but not lightly and I have all of the roles on both systems because I started playing it on Xbox one it came out and then one of my other friends only wanted to play on PlayStation so I wanted to play with him but we just make gold bars from Bounty hunter but we have stopped playing this game lately because rockstar said they were not going to update it any more I do play GTA online I have it for PS five I stop playing it for a while I’ll because everything on there is so expensive and rockstar makes it so you can’t make a lot of money because they want you to buy short cards but I play it with my other friend that has a PS five but I wish that the PS five version is not exclusive to PS five and could play with PS4 Systems because a lot of my friends play on PS4 but I could play PS4 with them but then I would not have my save it I have had for the almost 8 or nine years however long it has been the GTA Online has been out for yes I started playing day one back in 2013 on Xbox 360
I personally have bought Capitale so I would be part of the 12%. But it's not because it was a good decision. I knew it was a bad one, but I was playing an opportunity with low level friends to help them get some money fast (since I can do any in one try solo or ruthless). I ran out of capitale and instead of grinding out the extra 8 which could have taken another half an hour I just bought the 10. I have more gold than I know what to spend it on so it didn't matter much to me. My friends enjoyment of the game was my priority.
Don't know what lobbys you guys are getting, but I play on the series x and the average lobby has 20 to 21 players in it on most sessions I've joined so I don't know what you guys mean by the game is dead because I can confirm 110% it's not dead not even close.
Very great gameplay when you first start out, quickly gets boring after every business is upgraded and you progress through the roles. I have 100k 400 gold bars or so and I spend most of my time now helping new players out.
I’ve moved on, I love this game, but it’s introduced me to other western games. Call of Juarez and Hunt Showdown, both really good games. And I won’t lie, it’s all cause of red dead online.
Imagine horse racing where there is literally no way to even use a weapon. Also, I don’t think it’s completely dead. I feel like it’s on hiatus. For how long, that I do not know. There’s no way on earth they’d straight abandon this game like that. Perhaps it could be for the best we wait and see what happens but I don’t blame anyone at all for giving up hope. The game seems to be dead. I agree. But I feel like this just isn’t gonna be a good year for the game. If lack of updates kills it, so be it. Rockstar dropped the ball if they continue to ignore the game.

I loved gta but they kept adding trolling gimmicks, strong vehicles, rc vehicles, otr, bst, satellite cannon, god mode weirdos and you can buy bullet from a menu which shouldn't be a thing.

Idk how people can think pvp in rdo is good or even average. It’s pretty horrendous, In fact I’d say it’s the worst part of the game. The glitches, the fire and explosive ammo, and all the exploitative bs like duel wielding hipfire abuse and even immortality exploits make it some of the most annoying and unbalanced pvp I’ve ever seen. I wish that rockstar would update the game, just so they can fix pvp, that would be the main priority for me.

It's not greed that killed the game. This is a lame excuse. Greed would have been unlocking updates behind large amounts of gold. The people making the game today are not the same people who made GTA or even RDR2. The people in charge now gave you the Naturalist role as the other roles were already in the game during before the beta was even launched. Watch the introduction to RDO for proof. They have become what they used to make fun of.

Personally, I think R* is very pooly run company and can't maintain their products. Medal of Honour collapsed after several years of large sales only to be swamped by COD.

I've been playing for almost a year, rank 346, 283,000 , 596 gold bars. Bought what I wanted and needed there is a lot I haven't bought I'd admit but I'm not really interested in it... I love to play online for the beauty and the relaxation of the game . I'm a friendly player with zero interest in PvP and very rarely shoot back, I'm actually happy Rockstar haven't updated rdr2 online as a regular as GTA 5 online because look what they have done with GTA talk about milking a dead cow the poor thing is a pile of rotting bones and still getting milk from it .. I don't want to see flying horses that have lasers come out of the eyes and bombs coming out of the horses butthole because knowing Rockstar Games they would bring that idea to rdr2 online like they did with the mrk2 oppressor. I would love a property or two and more horses and being able to own more horses and guns and clothes to buy but besides that I'm happy with how it is now and I hope gta6 doesn't come out for another year or two so I can enjoy how rdr2 online is now before they concentrate on it and start milking rdr2 and ruin it . I love the game and the detail of it still blows my mind. Keep playing riding and grinding and remember new players rdr2 online is not GTA online so don't be a d@#k. Your statistics highlight one of the the games real weaknesses, and that is that when many players start with RDO, they have no idea how to play - what to do, how to start. Just last night, I bumped into a Rank 4 player who was confused as to how to play, and I am confident that many leave the game not properly understanding what the objectives are, how to build their roles, and how to gain the most enjoyment out of the game. And that is purely Rockstar's fault.
I stopped playing RDO about 6 months ago. I had roughly $70,000 and 400 gold bars, and my character was over level 400. I owned pretty much everything. Outfits, weapons, horses, roles (all maxed out) etc. I had so much fun for how long I was on there, but most of my friends stopped too. It’s completely abandoned. It’s rare to see a lobby with more than 7 people in it.
Me too, just over level 500, close to $80k close to 3000 gold bars, and I own everything that doesnt cost gold. Everything is maxed out. All the Naturalist stuff done. I want to play more but hunting and delivering is only fun for so long. I abandoned it about 3 months ago.

I bought gold bars for my friends and I, when we went on a 5-day theme trip for my birthday to hang out and game. R* messed up and customer service messed up and twice made me film a video of myself clicking through the screens to prove I’d bought bars, and we didn’t get the gold until the last day. We ended up playing AC Valhalla and mostly setting ourselves on fire a lot, and now I have a bunch of gold bars but am otherwise generally broke all the time.
ETA: Anecdotally, when I’m online there’s either a few 30-ish level people + a lot of people

What really killed RDO online was the nerf of collector in 2020-2021, making necklaces/bracelets & jewellery spawns randomized really screwed with: Bounty Hunter -> searching for valuables within 30 minute timer before handing in bounties -> grinding collections -> doing blood money opportunities -> Look around for legendary animals when bored -> selling legendary carcasses to trader -> do moonshine supplies -> sell moonshine -> do trader mission/sale -> rinse and repeat looking for collections in-between time.
The update really messed up my flow to the point where collections aren't even worth grinding anymore, sure eggs and tarot cards + antique bottles have fixed locations to but kinda boring looking for the same 3 things over and over again
I really hope R* gets burned by GTA VI. I have a feeling its gonna suck, given the recent news and the fact that the major players in GTA series have left R* in the recent years.

I think the naturalist expansion was cool for the legendary animals, but the lady death screaming whenever you accidentally kill or hunt an animal too close to her really was something I could've done without
You don't even need to be too close... If you get ambushed somewhere on the map by an animal and kill it in self-defense, Harriette will know no matter how far away she was when that happened.
For me the Naturalist-role ended with executing tranquillized animals right in front of Harriette and throwing the carcasses into her tent.
My friend would run over a squirrel and get sprayed... I would slaughter animals for trader role and still be able to talk to her so it generally seems unreliable. Also, I think the compendium was a nice addition for those interested in completing it in online, even if sampling and photographing is a bit unnecessary (also tranqing animals is fun to mess around with)

Its pretty cool that there are more players that has completed the game more than once compared to completing it only once... says a lot about the story.
The fact is I personally thought the game was a bit slow in the beginning, I still liked it but it felt a bit overwhelming.. but once you get past chapter 4/5 it’s like you build a strong connection with the story and the characters. No other game has ever done that, atleast in my experience, and from there I was pretty much hooked
it is only this game and mass effect 1-3 i have had that feeling.
I just don't know how players (especially players that have completed everything) can continue to log into this game when Rockstar officially called off future support/content for the game.
They just like the game. they hunt, play poker, joke around with friends. I know some that still do. I put the game down only a month ago. Level 650 2nd character lever 250. Games dont have to be a grind for the 'next update" people still just enjoy the world that was built.

50,000+ cash, 1800 gold (never purchased), level 482, haven’t finished purchasing entire catalogue (but close), I enjoy races (far more during Beta), least favorite role is bounty hunter, all stable slots full of horses (though I only use my Foxtrotter with the skull mask from outlaw pass 1… her name is Voorhees), and these days I play to fill my satchel with small animal carcasses:)

I haven't played RDO in over a month now. It's sad that my level 550 character has over 1500 gold bars, is just sitting in their inventory with nothing to do with it. I adored the game, and made many friends in-game, but taking a break from the grind has been good for me, particularly after learning it's been abandoned.
On the topic of money, I own everything in the catalogue you can buy with cash, every hat every variation of the same hat, every shirt, pants, EVERYTHING lol...and I still have 50k
Personally I just reached 100, I know the state of the game and I only play for myself. My favourite horse is the Leopard one with black dots
I can only hope that RDO ends up getting the TF2 treatment with bug fixes to stop douchebag griefers and broken missions!

As a somewhat recent player the issue I have is that my cash is constantly in a flux given I spend it as fast as I make it, free roam missions give fuck all cash so I dont really do them much and the same goes for bounties outside of bounty bonus month, my main income sources are moonshiner and Trader, honest pay for mostly honest work, what can I say Im good at hunting and I can bean a deer in the head with my bow from a decent distance from a shire.
The first thing i got were weapons and weapon upgrades
Then it was stables horses and saddles (And yes I did buy 10)
And then it was pamphlets and now its just clothes, I did buy gold a few times but it was always the lowest teir option since daily challenge streaks are stressful
I dont really like doing PVP and most of my player kills are with friends for shits and gigs

I love Red Dead Online and I lovr Red Dead Redemption 2. I love the world and the environment. I haven't played jn months however. And it legitimately makes me sad. But there is only so many bounties I can hogtie before even the beauty of this game can't hold me anymore.

I started playing last December and according to the stats in game i have had 732.38 gold during my play, I have spent 527.00, and currently have 188.03 gold. That doesn't add up, I guess "earned gold" does not count something.
The best looking horses in my opinion are Kladruber, Dutch Warmblood, and Hungarian Half-bred. Yes, I am trying to not ride horses that everyone rides.

PVP against low honour characters always aim for the horse! Usually it goes down with one dirty pistol shot from very long distance and it always will be a mercy kill, cause the poor thing is starving since it spawned in. 😆
got 30k dollars 30 gold bars and pretty much everything owned in these game even trinkets lol. hadn't played in months until I decided today to pop on and see whats up ....the server to my surprise was full and half of them were around 1-10 level .....and actually enjoyed my time playing this game again even tho the playthrough lasted about 1 and a half hour or so
I have 1000gb and 50k cash and that's after I blew a load on cosmetics I'll never use.
What kept me going through the grind was knowing that when the properties and new content finally drop, I'll be living like a king with anything I want after my graft.
Now all that has been taken away I just dont have any motivation to do yet another moon shine run or fill another hunting wagon. I just have a pile of gold to sit in a field and look at. Never paid real money for gold and have to admit most was made before they nerfed the daily challenges.

I like naturalist. It makes trader easier as you don't need to spend a long time hunting for materials. 4 legendary sighting missions to get 100 goods to sell is worth the occasional spraying. Definitely not a first role though. I am shocked about moonshiner role. Once you finish the 5 missions and upgrade your equipment, it makes more money than the trader overall. 4 resupplies for the trader to be ready which you can sell 4 batches of moonshine. $800 vs $625.
Edit...the $800 is after subtracting the cost of mash and you do at least 1 bootlegger mission

190k $ and 1600+ Goldbars. Grinded most before they nurfed the gold farming. Since then, I slowly stopped playing, until the release of the BS telegram missions (then I fully stopped) .
Huge world, but no interest in pushing creativity (like all corporations) , just vanilla safe money makers that might lead to huge payouts.

In Red Dead your horses are equivalent to your cars in GTA. Rockstar could earn a lot more money if they sold extra horse stables for gold and special horse coat colors with high stats for gold. The could even just be extra lazy and just add the horses in story mode that aren't available yet online. Many people would buy gold to get these horses to flex. Or like me keep grinding the game to earn them for fun.

I only have 5 horses because there's an achievement to do so. I used 2 horses regularly until I did achievement hunting, and got 3 more horses and horse stands..

How can you play because at the moment I can't even install the game. Normally I install it in less than an hour and on the last attempt it shows me that I have to wait a whole day. Then I entered a forum where many players crying about the same problem.For the moment are some problems with server I think.
If we are talking about honor lvl, most of the time I had max high honor lvl but then changed for as low as possible.
I just found it handy that most players would stay away when I had low honor. But If even that attracted someone happy to fight I was good with guns and redy for some fun ^^. Ahhh sometimes I miss playing RDO.

Do people ever wonder if the not listening to fans is a sign that "entertainment" is not really the goal of this developer? It seems more like R* is a violence and chaos trainer. I love RDO but everything about GTA turns my stomach, if R* thought they were creating a western skinned GTA then they REALLY don't know "Western" fans or what wanna-be cowpoke want. I see players all the time commenting on how beautiful the environment is as they walk around like they are tripping on acid. Not just new player either, long time players will make comments when waiting on a timer or for another player, even after hundreds of hours of game play. RDO still has HUGE POTENTIAL but they are own by a studio unable to understand why RDO has so much potential. Smash, blow up, burn, repeat - R*'s version of fun (education?).
I used Gold on CAPPYTAYLAY when it 1st came out bc I had over 1000GB and didnt know how easy it was to acquire when I saw it on the menu to purchase. Yeah I sold a BUNCH of sets to Nazar to get straight to top level of blood money update and didnt know what was NOT worth spending for (ie CAPPYTAYLAYLAY)

Red Dead Online is not profitable. Why? Because the investors behind take 2 expect billions in revenue not millions.

Rockstar Games has no damn clue how much money they're leaving on the table by sunsetting RDO. Most of my friends who got bored of GTAO, tried out and liked RDO. And vice versa. All Rockstar Games had to do was properly support both games... sadly, the Rockstar of our childhood is what's dead.
I'm boycotting Rockstar now, I'll only play games I already own that they cannot profit off of (specifically Red Dead 1 and 2). I refuse to play GTA Online anymore and won't be buying GTA 6
I bought gold bars because it kept feeling like I was missing out on things to do- Because of the Roles costing so much gold bars, and it taking ~10 daily challenges to make a single gold piece, with the starting ammount being .1 for each challenge completed (yes you can earn them through other content, but again- you get .12 or maybe a little more)
Me and a friend mitigated this slightly by having one of us buy the Bounty Hunter and the other buy Trader, and we'd join eachother on each tasks- But then we saw the Naturalist cost 25, and then the Collector also, Moonshiner eventually too..
So I bought gold to buy the roles, thinking of it more like buying DLC than anything. After that though, I've no idea what someone would need to buy gold for. Sure, some equipment needs like 5 gold, but thats mostly asthetics at that point.
They really should redo the outlaw pass or like how they had the halloween pass that I missed. Theres so many references to stuff requiring it, but no way to get it.
In defence of the horse races, it's the best way to level up for players like me, who sticks around because I'm the weird horse girl that grew up 😂 I buy gold bars for things like new roles and the nice horses, but that's it. I have 3 total characters in RDO, and all 3 have a full stable of 10 horses 😆 If I could buy more, I would, but I tend to stick to the Turks, role breeds, and the best horses in the game, the mustangs!
Back when the Outlaw Pass was still a thing, I bought gold bars for that, every time, without fail. Now, there's just not much incentive. I only recently switched to PC and began a new character, and now what keeps me from playing is all the f*cking glitches. I never had this many problems on PS4, on which I had 2 characters on different profiles, and also logged on with my husband's character to get some gold for him sometimes, because he can't stand the grind. And he's a longtime PC guy, so yes, he's been helping me with fixes and settings to minimize glitches. It's still intolerable.
And, something interesting you may not be aware of, but if you play as a female character and then a male character, you'll notice the female characters get griefers harassing them at least twice as much. I'm not gonna say "female gamers have it worse", because there's men who play female characters all the time, I'm just noticing the general difference in experience depending on which model you choose.
And yes, I made all the extra characters just to get more horses 🤣
I think that it is at lvl 100-300 where the players begin to buy the more expensive things, like the fence pamphlets and spending gold bars on weapon customisation. This would explain why that portion of people are low on money. They are making a lot of money and are just constantly spending it. After a while, they run out of weapons to customise and clothes to buy so they earn more money than they spend.
Yes but pvp you only have 125k viewers how could you possibly reach everyone? I mean see your content even though I'm not surprised. And I actually sort of like horse races I just wish they would get rid of battling in horse races. I enjoy all types of racing. Car, horse, plane, and boat racing. I even enjoy the occasional parkour.

I have yet to discover a player who can give me a challenge in a fist fight other than a player that goes by diamonddog101 since I started the Red Dead Dojo. Any challengers out there would be greatly appreciated, anybody over lv 300 would be awesome but anyone up to the challenge is welcomed at the Dojo. I have not finished the story online for this game I think I finished it on Xbox but not PlayStation and I did not finish the story mode because on Xbox online mode had just come out and I wanted to delete my online character but I accidentally deleted my story mode character And I never went back and started playing it again in the last two years or so I’ve started playing this game on PlayStation and have played some of the story on PlayStation and I am rank 100 and something and I have bought gold bars before but not lightly and I have all of the roles on both systems because I started playing it on Xbox one it came out and then one of my other friends only wanted to play on PlayStation so I wanted to play with him but we just make gold bars from Bounty hunter but we have stopped playing this game lately because rockstar said they were not going to update it any more I do play GTA online I have it for PS five I stop playing it for a while I’ll because everything on there is so expensive and rockstar makes it so you can’t make a lot of money because they want you to buy short cards but I play it with my other friend that has a PS five but I wish that the PS five version is not exclusive to PS five and could play with PS4 Systems because a lot of my friends play on PS4 but I could play PS4 with them but then I would not have my save it I have had for the almost 8 or nine years however long it has been the GTA Online has been out for yes I started playing day one back in 2013 on Xbox 360
I personally have bought Capitale so I would be part of the 12%. But it's not because it was a good decision. I knew it was a bad one, but I was playing an opportunity with low level friends to help them get some money fast (since I can do any in one try solo or ruthless). I ran out of capitale and instead of grinding out the extra 8 which could have taken another half an hour I just bought the 10. I have more gold than I know what to spend it on so it didn't matter much to me. My friends enjoyment of the game was my priority.
Don't know what lobbys you guys are getting, but I play on the series x and the average lobby has 20 to 21 players in it on most sessions I've joined so I don't know what you guys mean by the game is dead because I can confirm 110% it's not dead not even close.

Very great gameplay when you first start out, quickly gets boring after every business is upgraded and you progress through the roles. I have 100k 400 gold bars or so and I spend most of my time now helping new players out.
I’ve moved on, I love this game, but it’s introduced me to other western games. Call of Juarez and Hunt Showdown, both really good games. And I won’t lie, it’s all cause of red dead online.
I literally quit the game for two years after the daily challenge nerf as it became pretty cleae Rockstar didn't respect my time.
Imagine horse racing where there is literally no way to even use a weapon. Also, I don’t think it’s completely dead. I feel like it’s on hiatus. For how long, that I do not know. There’s no way on earth they’d straight abandon this game like that. Perhaps it could be for the best we wait and see what happens but I don’t blame anyone at all for giving up hope. The game seems to be dead. I agree. But I feel like this just isn’t gonna be a good year for the game. If lack of updates kills it, so be it. Rockstar dropped the ball if they continue to ignore the game.

I loved gta but they kept adding trolling gimmicks, strong vehicles, rc vehicles, otr, bst, satellite cannon, god mode weirdos and you can buy bullet from a menu which shouldn't be a thing.
Maybe next time you can make a pole about hacking. Like something why did you begin to hack in Red Dead online.

Idk how people can think pvp in rdo is good or even average. It’s pretty horrendous, In fact I’d say it’s the worst part of the game.
The glitches, the fire and explosive ammo, and all the exploitative bs like duel wielding hipfire abuse and even immortality exploits make it some of the most annoying and unbalanced pvp I’ve ever seen.
I wish that rockstar would update the game, just so they can fix pvp, that would be the main priority for me.

I have 13.000 dollars and 98 gold bars and I own everything. I have 5 unused maps. I only have 3 horses.
Not playing anymore (level 338 and I still have 1019 gold bars and 30k RDO).
I only started playing a couple of days ago so have the advantage of it all being "New"
I do think R* intend to put resources back in at some point but I worry GTA 6 will take so long it might be too late
