Just ran across your video. I recently moved to Alaska and love shed hunting. It’s always been for elk or mule deer so trying to learn how to find moose sheds. People are pretty secretive about where to find them and I don’t blame them. When I was a kid we found big sheds all the time and threw them back in the bushes. Now it’s big business. Great video.

Question; if I were to come across a rival moose shed hunter, should I apply your steelhead tactics and try to overtake him? Or is there a more effective approach I should utilize?

Battle Creek Outdoors Hahahaha you should begin walking/ running in front of him to beat him to all of his sheds. (This is just a joke) I’m gonna have to start stating when I’m joking because people take me way to seriously 😂

@@HardwayOutdoors Thanks for the tips. Lol. Hard to believe people can’t pick up on your sarcasm... 🤦‍♂️ On another note, you need to invest in a head bet to deal with those bugs. The deer flies were so bad here this summer that I broke down and bought a couple.

Dude aren’t you worried about the bears being out there by urself? Great finds!! I have one from Alaska! I may be able to get you some intel, this guy worked for the Forest service in Alaska and his job was to track moose all year and find there sheds and document all of it!!!! I will ring him up n see what I can find out. Later

Scott Nock not really worried about bears in inland Alaska. They’re around but it’s not a population to really worry about. If one gets me then I guess it was my time to go, not going to let fear of bears keep me from the woods. I would appreciate the intel. Unfortunately I leave Alaska this week and I won’t be able to use the info. But I am still very curious to see if there are any defined patterns of moose sheds. Thank you!
