Came looking for some bnbs and instead got a full on introductory guide to neutral and blockstrings. Really appreciate it! This is the kind of stuff that's hard to find when you're new and clueless on an FG other than how to input stuff.
dude this is amazing thank you so much i love that you included a simple little neutral gameplan and things too, this is basically a primer for narmaya as well as a combo guide. great stuff!
@MrCactuar13 awesome mindset as someone sharing their knowledge! honestly id consider titling this kind of thing "beginners guide" or "primer" or something it might actually get more traction which you clearly deserve ^-^
Oh finally. I have been searching for a video that explains the small stuff when it comes to pokes, gameplan etc. While Combos are good, I can't get to them if I can't learn or observe how to get to them through neutral.
@@youngthomasyorke4074 TK stands for Tiger Knee. It is a technique to use an air special as early as possible in your jump. For Narmaya, this would be 2147 H. Essentially, the 214 input is for the special move, and then the 7 allows you to jump and already have the 214 input available so all you need to do is press H and you get her little flip move. I believe the commenter is just using it to refer to the action of low aerial specials instead of the input though (which seems to be also be a valid use as far as I am aware), as using the skill button doesn't require the 214 input. So instead you can just do 87 S. As far as why it's called Tiger Knee, I believe that would be a reference to the Street Fighter character Sagat, who I know has a move called Tiger Knee. Similar to how the 623 input is frequently referred to as DP input as a reference to Ryu's Rising Dragon Punch.
ayee, thank you for the great content, my aigis became an demon off of your guide. The aigis community ate that up. this one actually makes me want to side narmaya so im going to pick her up next to my yuel :D @@MrCactuar13
Thank you for your insane content. I've been stuck in a5 hell and doubting myself and whether i can progress or not as Narmaya, while noticing some flaws in my gameplay. I've noticed that i tend to become a nervous wreck which throws my controls all over the place and start to button mash out of panic. So much so that the offense which was the area i was bit more decent at became predictable and i also tend to drop combos. If i could ask you a favor...would you be willing to do a defense guide? I struggle counterattacking characters like grimnir nier and especially siegfrieds and can't get close to meteras/ferrys/zoners without becoming too predictable. Great content and new subscriber from me
Hey thanks for the kind words. As for improving your combo consistency, my advice is practice, practice practice. And don't just practice against a dummy, practice against the CPU at a level that's challenging enough for you to have to work your way in a bit but maybe not so challenging you can never get in. If you're dropping combos, stick to a more basic combo until you can get the consistency for that down and work your way up to the more "optimal" stuff. Narmaya already has above average combo damage so you don't have to optimize to get damage off her. On defense, that's not advice that I can really sum up easily in a video. For one I'm mostly just a lab monster who doesn't play vs that much and I'm not amazing in a real match. But if you're struggling against any particular matchup, best advice is to go to training mode and learn the frame data so you know when to counterattack. And also remember that Narmaya has decent pokes herself, and ultimate moves are your friend. U Setsuna gets you conversions from mid screen and U Crescent Moon is straight up a neutral skip that leads to full combo. Good luck with your matches.
@@MrCactuar13 thank you fo your kind words. Truth to be told this is really my first fighting game with good net code kn which I've been trying to improve, as well as my second fighting game ever. First was vanilla versus and that died down super fast, so ig I don't really know the match ups that well. I'll take your words to heart and start practicing against cpus and in training mode
Great video! Only thing I still don't understand is the instant air Cresent moon link. I've been struggling with it for days and you make it look so easy.
What input method are you using? If you're using the technical input it is possible but you do need to know some input tricks. I'm just using up+forward skill button+heavy. You want to hit U right after H Setsuna, then you can just do 9Sk+H as soon as the animation ends
@MrCactuar13 I started out with only technical inputs and yesterday and today I've tried mixing in simple to see if that helps but I'm too dense. I can't seem to make it work.
@@jtp93 if you're doing technical then do the TK input, 2149H. Do 214 during Setsuna, then 9H as soon as the animation ends. Accuracy is more important than speed here. If you don't get a full quarter circle back input then instant Crescent Moon won't come out
@MrCactuar13 I finally got it consistently. I had to slow down your video to .25 to pay better attention to your inputs but I got it now thanks for the advice!
I kinda wish you edited in normal number pad rotations but this is still a nice video as I enjoy her but I suck with her a lot. Also I had no clue how to do the instant H crescent moon till you showed it on the side so it was a Tiger Knee.
No I'm not cool enough to tiger knee it lol, I'm using 9H+Sk Also I was hoping this game would have a combo recipe mode but unfortunately it doesn't exist outside the combo trials. I didn't want to clutter the screen with inputs. Maybe I can make a pinned comment with inputs or put a link to a pastebin in the description?
honestly i can tk crescent moon, but i can't reliably forward tk cresent moon. that said i'll at you but i don't blame you ,the TINY damage loss is worth the consistency + better overall damage
This is great, but trying to replicate some of these combos is pretty hard with just visual data. Do you maybe have a spreadsheet or something with potential combos written out, so it's a bit easier to compare or train with?

yeah I put them in because combos alone won't make people better fighting game players, knowing how to actually apply some game knowledge is important

Narmaya, my beloved!
Really good format. Never thought of using random block to practice hit confirms!
Thank you for this. It's insanely helpful. Actually very surprised there aren't many (any?) other Narmaya combo videos. She's hella fun to play!
