Imagine a time when Dallas was the West End and a handful of college bars on Greenville Ave. Then a group of people decided to put on shows, wherever they could find cheap places to rent. These people you are looking at are the biggest of those people. I'm just happy they let me into the party. All respect and love.
I grew up listening to Lou Reed's version of this song. I wasn't prepared to like this version, and went into it with my arms folded across my chest. But... in the end, I changed my tune. Great version!
I love this version. It´s so different from the original, that it totally makes sense. Don´t understand why this cannot be found anywhere else but here...
I was engaged to a gal in the late 80s that looked, and personality wise, sang similar to Edie, then listened to too many people about she wasn't right for me. Love the one you're with & if in your soul they're there the part that missing, they'll be part of you. Real true love is hard to find, but I found it a couple times, but the first at times I think about her @ times. Remember love the one your with and old age isn't the time to sweep a 19-32 y/o off her feet unless you have benefits.
I hated this song when it came out by Lou Reed in 1972, however the new Bohemians version sounds much better. Their Hometown is Dallas Texas established 1841. Howdy
Lou construct the composition very very wild with his groove according to that era but you make it feels like a couple of bride walking on the church with wild rose at the clutch of male bride, Eddie, you wrong to choose Lou's stuff, i still keep that Lou's old cool stuff anyway
A really, really good band. Top to bottom, musicianship galore. Loved them.
AMEN
Great cover. Nostalgic with a present feel.
I was in the studio for this session and got to sing some backing vocals! Thanks for posting.

Congratulations. It's better than the original.
Kewl!
When was Edie's version recorded?
Totally not used to hear anyone else singing this but Lou, this is a very lovely version, very!✌💚
If anyone can do this tune justice, it's Edie and she didn't disappoint.

It's a great cover but with out the sax it just does not seem complete. Having said that what ever happened to this group I loved them.
They are doing a reunion in Dallas Easter weekend. Three sold out shows at the Kessler. Going to two!
Her new release came out Friday 10-12-18
