If you wrap cling film around the tile , then use whit silicon sealant, allow it to cure then pull tile up and remove clung film hey presto. Been using this method for years
Might be a better idea to put this close to a wall and keep a small table / nightstand over it. The only other concerns would be mice chewing up whatever you store. Also, most flooring doesn't have the depth required.
Set the height of the elevator case below the subfloor, not just below the thickness of the tile. Then have that subfloor rest on the frame of your elevating stash box. That way, you have a weight bearing structure, and it won’t sound different when someone steps on it.
Where did the hole come from? There are no hidden holes under the tile floor. You'd have to break out the concrete first and make a hole. Then you'd have to finish the walls and floor of the hole. This is something you'd have to plan for before building the house.
@RandoWisLuL Yeah, we all have that under our houses. Houses in Florida rarely have subflooring. Most are concrete floors. But I have built a few down here. Marco Island has a section called Indian Hills. A few houses there have Cellars. One of the few in the State. And really rare in South Florida where it's all sand.
@@ericpowers6509 in California, most floors are concrete slab but if they are raised with a crawl space(usually a thing just in older houses) there is a plywood subfloor with whatever on top. the one house i lived in had probably 2 feet of crawl space under the whole house.

don't use hot glue- put tape in the backside of the gap before installing the shelf and close it with construction adhesive or silicon!!! Before you grout... put a piece of tape on the edge of your main tile before your grout with a lite covering of silicon paste or petroleum jelly, gently pull it up and place it back down to straighten the edge but if you learn how to do this it can look like a tile without cracks cause it's so snug 😉

I don't knw what that was at the end Unless you put some release formula on the edge of the tile Its either going to stay stuck there or pull half of it off the first time you pull the tile up.
And when the burglar is walking on the floor in the quiet room and suddenly senses the hollow sound, different from the other tiles he'd been walking on. To prevent that, it's better to put extra layers of insulating dampers under that particular tile so that it doesn't sound more resonant than the sorrounding tiles.
STUPID IDEA, if a home owner tries this they will be calling a guy to come fix the floor!!! Below the floor are all the mechanicals, wires, pipes, duct runouts which would all need to be confirmed they are not in the way!
While you're right that a person would need to check for pipes and wires, you make that seem like a difficult if not impossible task. It isnt. This isn't a good idea for many reasons; but yours doesn't even make the list.
When he lifted the tile the grouting was damaged. Anyone pulling aside the rug would see that, anyone walking on the tile might hear a difference between walking on it and elsewhere.
But that’s in the crawlspace. It’s also storing the jewelry outside the house where someone can just crawl under to get it. A plumber goes under the house crawlspace a lot. Also animals and mice 🐁 can chew it
Its needs a matt to hide those obvious cracked grout lines so no point in trying to blend it in with a matching floor tile. Then you have just a very brittle tile with no solid backing so would likely shatter when walked over.
The idea is good, but not in a walkway area in a flat. The risk of the tile breaking is too great, as tiles break quickly if cavities are left under the tile during installation.
I guess you don't mop that floor ever. I suppose if you do it's a good way to rot the floor from the center of the room while simultaneously causing water damage to your valuables. I approve.

Don't worry, the unsupported ceramic tile caving in first will protect the frame work.

Tape on the outside of the tile will keep the caulk from adhering to it. Just remove the tape first.
