Yup, 54 points so far this season, 52 points at this stage last season. Even though they play 4 fewer games than other top leagues, those point totals over the past 3 seasons are pretty low to win titles. They haven't been going particularly well for years.
Leverkusen is unbelievably good but Bayern was close in the first half of the season. There isn't an excuse for losing to Bremen, Bochum or Freiburg. They completely fell of in the second half of the season
It's not just that. The football is extremely underwhelming. Boring, spiritless football, random goals scored because of individual class while being extremely leaky in defence. Players are not developing and have been out of form for months. And to - no disrespect - potentially go out to Lazio in the CL is just ridiculous. I am not saying it is all Tuchels fault but big changes need to be made. He needs to go and at least half a dozen players too.
Being a Spurs fan who wants Kane to finally win a league championship and a football fan who wants Leverkusen to finally end Bayern’s domination is honestly tearing me apart😭
Bayern is still in the UCL. As far as I remember. And I only believe that they didn't win the Bundesliga when the referee blows the whistle! Bayern has come back so many times. And they have the s.c. _"Bayern-Dusel"_ on their side. And Leverkusen has their nickname _"Vizekusen/Neverkusen"_ for a reason. Both phenomenons even have their on English Wikipedia article!
The fact that Kane can potentially be one of the first footballers I can think of to get an Untitled vid from Secret Base is crazy given how many opportunities he got
Bayern aren't really much worse than previous seasons if you look at points and goal differential, it's just that leverkusen are having a historic season. Leverkusen's current point total is higher than basically all of Bayerns league winning tallies at this point in the season.
This is a quality Bayer team but that doesn’t change the fact Bayern have been in decline for 3 years now. We barely beat a god awful Dortmund side to the title last year.
But Bayern isn't only competing in the bundesliga.. If you count all games, Cup matches, Champions League and Bundesliga, Tuchel is the worst coach since Klinsmann. Even Kovac had more Points per Games than Tuchel
I know it will sound strange but Bayern Munich's decline started in the 18/19 season under Kovac. Bayern were awful under Kovac and yet barely retained their Bundesliga title because Dortmund per usual collapse in the end. Bayern Munich won the sextuple the following season when Flick took over near the halfway point where Leipzig was leading the Bundesliga. Since then Bayern Munich had many infighting between the players, managers and board and puzzling transfer dealings that failed to replace key players from their 2020 dominance. Apart from Sane, Kane and Kim Min Jae. The rest were either poor or joined Bayern Munich at the wrong time. Last season Bayern Munich were lucky to retain their Bundesliga crown because Dortmund yet again failed miserably to win on the final day but now that Leverkusen stepped up their game after battling for survival when Alonso, Bayern Munich are falling apart and this was coming since Kovac was in charge. Years of complacency and failing to address their in house problems has finally caught up on them and the fallout is there for the world to see.
Finally the correct analysis. Everybody thought with the CL, and all the titles in 2020, that everything was perfect. In many ways, this season, as ironic it sounds, was more poison than a blessing. I say this as a Bayern Munich fan myself, it blinded us. And made us immiatedly forget our already existing structural issues.
Sane and Kim Min Jae? Sane is currently playing his third bad second half of a season in a row. Kim is currently nowhere near the world class level that everyone expected he is, considering that he was regarded as one of the best transfers in summer. Kane has played a world class first half of the season and is now slowly adapting to the rest of the team, as you could see in some of his latest performances. The teams core needs to be completely exchanged. Goretzka, Kimmich, Gnabry... they were overrated due to overperforming for a while, they have played bad for over 2 seasons now.
Poor Kane. He's so good and keeps performing and just can't catch a break. Also the fact this was the first back to back loss in 4 years is an absolutely mad stat.
I wonder sometimes if there is some aspect of his game in any given season that isn't changed enough over the new year, so he gets sidelined by the time the critical games arrive.
@@sociolocomtsacyou can’t clutch when you are being given no service. If the rest of the team is not there for the big occasions then of course he isn’t going to get goals.
Funny how losing the league for first time in more than a decade is widely considered a crisis for Bayern. This shows how big and competitive Bayern's legacy is Most teams would die for having these kind of crisis
I think it's two main issues: state-owned petro clubs have distorted the transfer market, and being dominant for so long raises expectations to an unreasonable level, thus putting too much pressure on everyone (while, as the video says, making players less hungry)
Here's a take: Nothing's actually gone wrong for bayern, compared to the top teams in Europe top leagues they are actually performing decently. The issue is that somehow we've gotten used to Bayern winning the Bundesliga every season. And we act like it's the end of the world if the team is in second. Bayern has dominated for the past decade, which honestly makes the league a bother to watch or we all know they win it at the end. Let's also give Bayer Leverkusen the credit they deserve, they have been absolutely amazing and rightfully deserve the league this season. Any other year bayern would probably still be top of the league even with their current performances. It just shows how exceptional bayer leverkusen have been.
No, its not the league points or lead We are sick and tired of our preference under tuchel, we were literally knocked out by a 3rd tier team as well as humiliated by Leipzig...lost to lazio and barely won against Copenhagen which is a continuation of what happened last season since tuchel took over Believe me we do not care even a little bit about the Bundesliga, our problem is HOW we lose it We are uninspiring, boring and dead, we are not Bayern now that's our problem
@@Ananas-280 I understand your point but after years of domination, complacency starts to form among the players, coaching staff and club atmosphere. It's not just Tuchel really, Dortmund literally handed bayern the league last season, even two seasons ago, the performances were starting to look lacklustre. This season should be used as a launching pad, make a few changes to coaches, players etc and then next season it's back to domination
@@senseiwu763 I don't think it was a "nobrainer". I share the sentiment that in general Tuchel is/was the slightly better coach in a vacuum. If both were available at the same time, without any context and none of them already working for the club, I'd see why Bayern would go for the more experienced Tuchel. But they likely sacked Nagelsmann for personality reasons and then got someone who is very easily triggered by questions from the press and seems to hold an image of arrogance around his players at times. They sacked Nagelsmann because they were afraid of not winning any titles, but then only won one extremely lucky Bundesliga trophy thanks to Dortmund bottling it and a last minute winner from Musiala. Nagelsmann had a 2.31 points per game average with a team that lagged a striker after Lewandowski's departure. Tuchel got 200 million worth of players including Kane and only has a 2.02 average - the second worst average in 30 years, barely better than Klinsmann's. Nagelsmann also was still able to win all major titles last season, including the Champions League after eight straight wins, including seven of them to nothing. Nagelsmann's sacking cost Bayern at least 40 million Euro, plus 12 million salary per year for Tuchel, plus a few millions for staff. Take those roughly 70 million to this day and add the 120 million for Kane and 50 million for Kim and 30 million for Boey and you end up with a quarter billion invested, yet the results are worse. I'm pretty sure that Nagelsmann would have done just as well as Tuchel without that quarter billion spent. In that regard, I'm not sure that it was a "nobrainer".
I mean 3-0 loss to their main competitors, bad performance in the champions league and losing to an amateur side are really bad, way worse than the standing implies
They are bad. Because Bayern normally wants to play good attractive football while also winning competitions. And they do this by winning important games. In this season, they play really unattractive football, they mostly rely on individual qualities instead of a team effort and they failed to win any important games (DFB Pokal game against Saarbrücken, Champions League first leg against Lazio, 2nd game against Leverkusen and all recent games). And their form seemingly is only trending downwards.
No, just no Bayern is horrendous in fact we deserve to be even lower in points but we've been saved many times due to just players quality Please don't talk if you know nothing about us or even watch any Bayern match apart from ucl or big matches
For years players at Bayern have been complaining about not being appreciated, and some have left because of that. This just tells that something is wrong in the management, and considering how Kahn and Brazzo were fired, I doubt the problem was with them. I have been a close Bayern fan for years, and it just hurts to see the 'family feeling' leave more and more. Sure, Bayern has been mainly a business for years before that already, but it still somehow felt like a family. That is gone for good now.
Both the players and manager have had problems. The likes of Kimmich and Goretzka have acted poorly and the manager has burned too many bridges. Poor squad planning- too much money spent on average players (Goretzka, Gnabry) has finally come back to bite the club. Its just a shame for Kane that he joined just as all of this came to a head...
As a german an FCB Fan - you are great it summarys our "Story" as the only one not native speaker on the point. Fair / hard and true. I wish the TV media would talk about us in such a way..... but we all know the level of deep of the sun an co. Great work!
As an American, jokes and memes about Tottenham and Harry Kane aside, it's actually super refreshing to see someone other than Bayern win. Just the fact Bayern wins every year makes the Bundesliga unwatchable. It's very refreshing to see Leverkusen so close to finishing the race. I've had European expats as coworkers and they wanted to gauge my interest in watching UEFA leagues, and France, Spain, Italy, and Germany just don't have the same parity as England did until recently. Imagine my surprise when they told me that Serie A was the top league in the 90s. All I've ever known has been Juventus every single year.
the answer is relatively simpler than people are making it out to be. when a team so thoroughly dominates a league that for a decade no one comes on top, every part of the machine, each cog becomes complacent and careless. The coaches think they can experiment because "it's just Wolfsburg/darmstadt/random third league team", the players feel like they're going through the motions because "we'll win one trophy anyways" and BTS management believes that putting in the bare minimum is okay because "we are Bayern Munich"
Bayern’s problem is slowly going to the direction of Manchester United. However, before things worsen even further, they need to immediately sign a coach that can work alongside the managerial team (yet still ignoring the fact that they need to give the coach time to) and if there’s any name that might suit such a description, it would be Valverde. He is known to be able to perform in a team with problematic managerial team or when the managerial team have to decide what players available to buy
Bayern profited from the great work of Hoeneß in the early 2010s. They were a well-run club with a good financial situation. This is no longer the case and Bayern will have to rebuild not only their squad, but also the entire management
well our finances are not the problem yet, but if we keep spending like we do it will be in a few years. Even with the outrageous transfers of the past few years, we still operate with a net gain every season. But if we can't do a proper rebuild in the next 1-2 years in the midfield, our transfer policies become unsustainable like barcalonas
It doesn't feel like Bayern are dramatically worse than previously, they're doing relatively well, if not quite as well as their most successful eras. what has changed is the competition. It's not that Bayern is bad this season, just that Xavi Alonso's Leverkusen side are better
Just Kane's luck that he get's sent to the German Football Machine just as it starts breaking down and leaving him trophyless again, obviously not his fault just seems sod's law.
My take is: Nagelsmann noticed that his playing style didn't work and then he made the team more pragmatic. That wasn't good enough for the bosses and Tuchel was free(but maybe not available after the season) so they tried to get him during the season. But Tuchel is also a very pragmatic coach and relies more on individual quality than a specific playing style. Therefore not much changed, the games were mostly onesided but very controlled and not enthusiastic or pretty. So the points were his only upside and everytime he lost or drew, he couldn't defend their game. That was worsened by his obvious feud with many journalists, newspapers and experts. But the worst part is Leverkusen, who denied him any easy gameweek.
I pretty much agree, but your take is kind of missing that everything actually got worse with Tuchel. Less goals scored per game, more goals conceded per game, less points per game. Not to mention (even) more unrest amongs players. Sacking Nagelsmann was a gigantic mistake. I'm amazed that it has taken this long for most people to come around to the realization that Tuchel doesn't fit Bayern. It was very obvious within the first month.
Bayern have definitely slipped up in moments but the Media coming for Tuchels head is just dumb. Leverkusen have been exceptional this season and we are seeing almost a once in a century performance from them, like what happened with Leicester, the season that Leicester won the EPL . That’s really the only reason Bayern aren’t winning the league
Actually it's sadly one of the more sensible deals if you look at the transfer windows before. They needed another player to cover for defensive mid and center back and he can provide cover and play solid (not great) if called upon. He is no financial risk and is friends with Kane which helps him feel better. The issue is that he should not be called upon this often
@@56postoffice Oh it’s actually astonishing how things go even like last season they had it in the bag and completely messed up somehow 🤦 had a “Saint Spurs day”
It’s clearly all the drama surrounding the club reaching a boiling point along with a very stubborn manager who can’t admit when he’s wrong about players. Everyone that says “Kane is cursed” does not know ball 🤡
Wait is the guys that so far scored 27 leagues goals in 24 matched for Bayern not to blame ? 🤔 The signs was there already last season for Bayern when they basically had Dortmund throw away the title last season in the last game.
Bayern can no longer just go out and buy the very best players when premier league teams have as much if not more money. They wanted De bruyne/Sancho/Van diyk and more but couldn't match the offers. It's a similar story with thiago and alaba, both offered more money elsewhere and Bayern struggled to replace.
No team should win that many titles consecutively, that their run has ended is good for Germany. Sadly, the status quo is likely to resume in the near future
calling bayern unconvincing in europea while completly dominating united and comfortably securing first place in group stages is way to much. Today they will smash lazio and then everythings changes again.
Not much has gone wrong tbh, the better question is to ask why is Bayer Leverkusen overperforming, it's a record breaking year, and as someone else pointed out Bayern have more points at this point than they did last year.
I think a lot of the problems come from the power the players had regarding sacking their manager. Previously Kovac had to go, because the team disliked him. It seemed, they are playing against him and below their expecations, in order to get him sacken. Nagelsman was simmilar and now this sort of thing happens to Tuchel.
I still think it is the roster. The players did conspire against Nagelsmann, they are doing the same against Tuchel. There is a difference between _Leverkusen is doing extraordinarily good,_ and _Bayern is losing points when they shouldn’t._
They are in turmoil cause Hoenes is gone. His influence and stability are only seen when he was gone. Respect for him showing any team out there how to run a club. And now the cracks are showing. And I was the longest time dortmund fan...till last game last season.
That would be hillarious, especially when you see Coman replacing the Bundesliga trophy with Euro If he won as France players, should Kane's curse strikes again.
The most important line in the video: "A downturn in relative terms." They cant win every year, 12 yr in a row is legendary. Plus theyre still alive in the CL regardless of how theyve played up to the quarters.
Tuchel isn't as good as people think tbh. That Champions League with Chelsea is definitely a one off, similar to Di Matteo's double (UCL + FA Cup) with Chelsea in 2012.
You're talking like he didn't take PSG to the final in the previous years and was a few minutes away from a semi in the following year if not for Real Madrid juju He took Chelsea from 10th to 3rd and they're back to 10th after he left He has not been good for Bayern but make no mistake, he's one of the best in the world
@@veler6049Best in the world depending on how low your bar is. Failing to acknowledge the fact that almost immediately after the CL win with Chelsea, the team began an obvious downward trend, playing horribly because Tuchel was completely unable to evolve his tactical style and brand of football. He has had problems with the board at every single club he’s been at and that continued at Bayern. What also continued was the decadent football and poor squad management/talent id that maligned the majority of his spell at Chelsea
@@xavier1752 I said "one of the best". And even when Chelsea were "playing bad" they still finished 3rd in his full season, put 4 past Juventus, were 3-0 up at the Bernabeu, and reached two cup finals. If that was his bad patch then he's world class. Also remember Chelsea had a front 3 of Werner Havertz and Mount all of whom have flopped in their new clubs. Rewatch the cup finals and you'll break your TV if you're a Chelsea fan. Tuchel deserved both trophies but Mount can't finish 1v1s. Also Tuchel didn't have a problem with the Abramovic board. Had Russia not invaded Ukraine he'd still be here. The new ownership had a problem with him because they're idiots as proven by Chelsea being 10th after spending 1 billion Accept it. Tuchel is world class
@@veler6049 Making the mistake of branding outliers as the standard. After January 2022, there would be no such high level of performance. Thoroughly beaten against Arsenal, Brentford, the Real 1st leg, and a mauling from Leeds and Southampton. Additionally, playing some of the worst football I’ve seen at Chelsea. Roman’s Chelsea was about silverware so it’s best to not conflate that with Chelsea under Boehly. Reaching 2 cup finals isn’t anything remarkable for Chelsea under Roman. However, Tuchel was admittedly good at getting the Chelsea team up for knockout games. Tuchel did have issues with Abramovich’s board particularly about Lukaku though that information is irrelevant seeing he came to Chelsea with a problematic reputation already and has done nothing since to change it. His style of football has yet to improve with this Bayern spell and left Chelsea ultimately with one of the worst points per game records and the worst home record under Roman.
@@xavier1752 my brother EVERYONE had a problem with the Abramovich board when it came to Lukaku. The board wanted to keep him after that interview. That's not Tuchel being difficult. That's common sense As for everything else even at Tuchel's absolute worst Chelsea still finished 3rd. I have no doubt at all that Chelsea would be in the UCL had they kept him
They haven't replace Robben and Ribery. Goretzka & Kimmich are basically dysfunctional pivot. If only Tuchel used Laimer properly. Don't forget too much divas in the squad like Coman, Gnarby ofc Sane. Spend overpaid misconception / unneccessary players like De Ligt and Upamecano are Brazzo masterclass.. And Now Alonso's Leverkusen comin. Too many toxic player make the squad Malcohesive ... just like Chelsea .. Bloated Squad Toxic Drama Unqualified board It's finito
If you look at their points total at 24 games for the last ten years you can see the issue started in the 2018/19 season. The four years before that their points at 24 games were: 61, 62, 59, 60. Since 2018/19 it has been 54, 52, 55, 58, 52 last year and 54 this year
100 % Agree. Tuchel is freakin overrated. Just because he won the UCL with chelsea, people started to put him on a pedestal. A lot of people even started to put him in the same bracket as Pep guardiola and jurgen klopp. The delusion is hilarious haha. He is a horrendous coach. At least the bayern munich fiasco has finally opened some people’s eyes.
@@ravensfan4338 That is true. However, my point is that a coach is not world class just because he had one or two good seasons. For example, claudio ranieri guided leicester city to become premier league champion. Think about it, it’s Freaking leicester city. In 2013, Jupp heynckes made bayern munich champions league winner, and they also became the first german club to win the treble. Roberto di matteo guided chelsea to their first ever champions league crown in 2012. Yet, hardly anyone would consider these people as elite coaches. The reason is because it’s your overall career that matters not just one or two major trophies. Don’t misunderstand, tuchel is a good coach, he is above average. But, the reason i said he is “overrated” is because a lot of people were putting him in the same category as pep guardiola and jurgen klopp. That is complete nonsense.
The structure and Bayern's financial muscle has made the Bundesliga uncompetitive. Both within and outside. Imagine winning a league with 71 points ! .11 years of championship. Bayern buys off all the talent in the league cannibalising the league and players move cause they know the only way to win the European title is through Bayern.
Since 2016, Borussia Dortmund has bought most of its players from domestically, i.e. from its Bundesliga competitors! So the argument that Bayern is buying up the league is no longer valid for a long time...
Look, Tuchel has his faults. But he is not the problem. (people who joke about Kane should get a life, that man is amazing). The problem is the Management on top of Tuchel. Since Kahn everything has been a chaos (sacking a manager mid-season never works). Top directors are worried about PR and branding than actually work long term. Look at howmany short-term panic signings we are making past 3 years.
The main problem is still cohesion. Their is zero cohesion between the board and manager. The incoming manager will need to immediately use the talent the squad has (aging or overpaid aside) while Freund and Eberl supplement that group with players that will develop and grow, but can also contribute now without the massive egos attached. Zaragoza is a prime example. Tel, Musiala are amazing talents and should be built around and Pavlovic is making a name for himself as well. The way we've used De Ligt has been been shambolic considering he is a leader and the backline sorely needs one.
Tuchel is unable to allow his teams to Adjust or improvise during games. That lack of freedom hurts senior players and teaches young players to be one dimensional. I believe tuchel would be better suited for a national team.
I'd say it's a combination of a few small, and probably relatively easily fixable factors that have resulted in this drop of quality. Tuchel is a great coach, but I'm not certain his playing style necessarily suits Bayern. The backroom staff issues are most likely the biggest problem, and could take a few years to get running smoothly again. Beyond that there are a few things noticeable on the pitch too, like the lack of a solid defence, especially a proper RB, and the team relying on Kane for goals too much. The biggest thing, though, is definitely the fact that Leverkusen are genuinely a very, very good team this season, with or without the problems in Munich, which amplifies all issues.
Individual performances are the only hope at this point and if Leverkusen dont do a dortmund its all over for bayern in the bundesliga. I just wish and hope that somehow Bayern move to the QF to save some blushes.
The biggest problem is, that the bosses have no patience at all. A new manager comes in and he instantly has to be perfect. No time for development like they did it with Klopp in Liverpool. He loses two games in a row, and he’s out. That‘s such a rotten system that in the future will scare top managers and top players away, i‘m afraid
I once had this situation in Football Manager. Long save, won the league about 20 years in a row, challenged the Champions League, being in the final a couple of times. But one time I had a tougher season, a couple of defeats, 8th in the table halfway through the season. I thought - I've done so much for them, we can let go of the league title this season, and rebuild, come back stronger next year. No, I was sacked. Then I took over another club and I was even better, and my old club, it was slipping into mediocrity. If you win the league title 11 years in a row, then let yourself breathe by not winning the 12th. Bayern will be back.
The biggest mistake that led to the problem was the installment of Oliver Kahn. The second biggest mistake was to fire Nagelsmann - Bayern was still in all competitions and had an aggressive new style that was more and more getting into the team.
Hi Tifo/Joe Devine, I just saw I was for some reason unsubscribed and now need to go on the record and say I have been subscribed and watching since this was Umaxit football!
Bayern Munich can't stand the idea of not winning Bundesliga for a season even after wins it 11 years in a row, Bayer Leverkusen will win the Bundesliga for the first time in their history and break Bayern's dominance.
Whenever a clubs churns through managers at a rate of knots. Serious questions must be asked of the judgement and integrity of the owners and directors.
Tuchel coming in with his attitude is like a friend going over Kimmich, Muller, and Manus house and making himself at home with his shoes on the couch and raiding the refrigerator.
I think it demonstrates the main problem with modern football, when competitiveness in a league is viewed as a crisis period for a club. This is why the Super League is so tempting to the big clubs, who can't handle what other clubs regarded as simply transition. Why do we let them build these glass ceilings? Germany and Scotland typify this issue.
Even though it is not a bad season considering the points in the Bundesliga, it could become a trophy less one, which in Bayern terms is unacceptable. However, I doubt that the coach or the sporting managers are accountable, since multiple changes in either role did not have the desired impact. Something within the team is either missing or interfering with the Bayern mentality of having success no matter what, which reflects on the performance on the pitch. I do not think that I have ever experienced a Bayern squad having two consecutive matches without a shot on target.
Thank you for these reflections of my favourite team! I have enjoyed watching Harry Kane, but do wonder about the cohesiveness of the team as a whole. When BM wins, the team seems to score high; losing games reflect very low scores. This tells me that something is not right. Can we lay the problem at the feet of a coach who seems not to trust the quality of some of his players? And how effective for the remainder of the season can BM be with a coach when ALL know that the end of the season is the end of his coaching at BM?
The thing is, other than the DFB pokal, Bayern are performing better in the league than last year and are still through to the quarterfinals in the Champions League.
Great video overview. Relations go a long way in football at all levels of the hierarchy which shows unparalleled differences between Tuchel's reign at Chelsea compared to Bayern. "Kane" will always be the butt of the joke as to why Bayern are suffering from a lack of success in his first season, but obviously everyone knows that isn't the case.
Bayern Munich are new Juventus remember Juventus dominated Italy for 9 years once they lost it they failed to recover now Bayern are joining it also it will be more miserable for Bayern in coming years since Key players like Kimmich Neuer Müller all will be leaving next year it will create more problems just like it happened to Juventus after 19/20 season
Don't expect Neuer will leave. He spent a lot of time getting back in form after his injury. Pretty sure he will keep playing. Kimmich leaving might be blessing in disguise.
@@hishaam3786 So what? Age means nothing. As long as he can play at the required level munich will be happy to have him. No reason why he can't extend his contract for a year or two or even longer. Age doesn't matter, only form and he is in form still.

People believe that in competitive sports the hardest part is finishing first, but it isn't. The hardest part is keeping it once you've got it. The people (or teams) in second place have something to aim for - like the carrot in front of a horse. You do not have this luxury when you are in first place. You have to give 100% every time, because those behind you are chomping at the bit. In the case of Bayern, they are still the best team on paper, but they just happen to be losing to a team which works well together. Sacking Tuchel because of Leverkusen's success is one of the dumbest business moves I've seen in a long time.
One team having a stranglehold on their league title is not good for business. Look at the PREM race this year and last. Knowing who’s going to win at the beginning of the season is not exciting.

Someone cooked here
Sane and Kim Min Jae? Sane is currently playing his third bad second half of a season in a row. Kim is currently nowhere near the world class level that everyone expected he is, considering that he was regarded as one of the best transfers in summer. Kane has played a world class first half of the season and is now slowly adapting to the rest of the team, as you could see in some of his latest performances. The teams core needs to be completely exchanged. Goretzka, Kimmich, Gnabry... they were overrated due to overperforming for a while, they have played bad for over 2 seasons now.
Going from Guardiola, Ancelotti and Heynckes to Niko Kovac shocked me at the time. A real signal of decline.
Bayern have the pieces set already, how they haven’t signed a proper no.6 is beyond me.
True, but he doesn't help himself when he goes missing in big games. Not clutching important games.
@@sociolocomtsacyou can’t clutch when you are being given no service. If the rest of the team is not there for the big occasions then of course he isn’t going to get goals.

Funny how losing the league for first time in more than a decade is widely considered a crisis for Bayern. This shows how big and competitive Bayern's legacy is
Most teams would die for having these kind of crisis
Because the Bundesliga is a farmers league with no competition at all
last seasons Dortmund regen and this current Bayer Leverkusen transformation has made the Bundesliga interesting for the first time in years
@@datdude3327You are right but I am speaking in general.
@bojidartodorov8611 Liverpool are bottlers the fans don’t care if they win something or nothing stick to Europa League
Bundesliga is the league with the lowest density in the top among top 4 leagues.
I think it's two main issues: state-owned petro clubs have distorted the transfer market, and being dominant for so long raises expectations to an unreasonable level, thus putting too much pressure on everyone (while, as the video says, making players less hungry)
Yeah I reckon they’ll return to the top very soon. It’s impossible to consistently dominate but it’s hardly a crisis
It just shows how exceptional bayer leverkusen have been.
this
Bayern loose to Lazio and saarbrucken and there is nothing wrong
You a « Bayern fan » ?
No, its not the league points or lead
We are sick and tired of our preference under tuchel, we were literally knocked out by a 3rd tier team as well as humiliated by Leipzig...lost to lazio and barely won against Copenhagen which is a continuation of what happened last season since tuchel took over
Believe me we do not care even a little bit about the Bundesliga, our problem is HOW we lose it
We are uninspiring, boring and dead, we are not Bayern now that's our problem
@@Ananas-280 I understand your point but after years of domination, complacency starts to form among the players, coaching staff and club atmosphere. It's not just Tuchel really, Dortmund literally handed bayern the league last season, even two seasons ago, the performances were starting to look lacklustre. This season should be used as a launching pad, make a few changes to coaches, players etc and then next season it's back to domination
Informative, as always, but the graphics have really gone up a level, too.
It all started when they sacked Nagalsmenn last season for no reason.
Nagalsmenn blew 9 point lead so I think when Tuchel was avaible it was nobrainer for the club
It all started when they made Hansi Flick to resign
Most top teams performed poorly after the World Cup, that for first time took place midseason.
Bro who tf is nagalsmenn? 🤣🤣🤦🏽♂️
"Kane" is the obvious joke.
"Tuchel" is the more likely reason.
Hierarchy uncertainty is the real reason

Guys Bayern isn't that bad this season. Leverkusen is undefeated this season. You can't do anything about that
I mean 3-0 loss to their main competitors, bad performance in the champions league and losing to an amateur side are really bad, way worse than the standing implies
What do you mean you can't do anything? You could... you know... defeat them? But not with an arrogant asshole all the players hate as a head coach...
No, just no
Bayern is horrendous in fact we deserve to be even lower in points but we've been saved many times due to just players quality
Please don't talk if you know nothing about us or even watch any Bayern match apart from ucl or big matches
have you seen bayern play they play atrocious football
The lack of a local competition just became apparent when leverkusen finally made a competition
Premier league became the top league itw in 2018/19. It was La Liga for nearly 20 years before that
Bayern wins every season : Farmer’s league
City wins every season : Most competitive league

A league should not just be about who wins every year though. Atmosphere and fan culture in Germany is the best in Europe.
Harry Kane shouldn't even be joked about. Without him they'd br even further behind.
bro Man city won the pl 5 times in the last 6 years. If youre only watching for the "competitivness" then youre watching the wrong league lmao
the answer is relatively simpler than people are making it out to be. when a team so thoroughly dominates a league that for a decade no one comes on top, every part of the machine, each cog becomes complacent and careless. The coaches think they can experiment because "it's just Wolfsburg/darmstadt/random third league team", the players feel like they're going through the motions because "we'll win one trophy anyways" and BTS management believes that putting in the bare minimum is okay because "we are Bayern Munich"
this. Discipline and Morale is a must for a good team, just like Leverkusen this season
@@mkronos02 That wasn‘t my point, I didn’t re-check the comment before posting it, so you are 100% correct
It doesn't feel like Bayern are dramatically worse than previously, they're doing relatively well, if not quite as well as their most successful eras. what has changed is the competition. It's not that Bayern is bad this season, just that Xavi Alonso's Leverkusen side are better
No one quite explains football like you guys do, thanks so much. Super insightful
Just Kane's luck that he get's sent to the German Football Machine just as it starts breaking down and leaving him trophyless again, obviously not his fault just seems sod's law.
My take is:
Nagelsmann noticed that his playing style didn't work and then he made the team more pragmatic.
@@bfromm4936 if you compare this season to last season statistically they are not really worse
The Eric Dier deal still confuses me.😂
Actually it's sadly one of the more sensible deals if you look at the transfer windows before. They needed another player to cover for defensive mid and center back and he can provide cover and play solid (not great) if called upon. He is no financial risk and is friends with Kane which helps him feel better. The issue is that he should not be called upon this often

I'm really playing the world's smallest violin right now since Bayern can't win their 12th championship, boo hoo
Tuchel have to leave not because the players didn't like him, but because bayern came second

Signing Dier was then end for Bayern
Only 34 games in the Bundesliga, and Bayern lost the same number of games (5) last season as Man City did when winning the PL.
Since 2016, Borussia Dortmund has bought most of its players from domestically, i.e. from its Bundesliga competitors! So the argument that Bayern is buying up the league is no longer valid for a long time...
Let's go!!!! The old format of videos is back.
Obviously it's Harry Kane!?
Yeah obviously
Tuchel is unable to allow his teams to
Adjust or improvise during games. That lack of freedom hurts senior players and teaches young players to be one dimensional. I believe tuchel would be better suited for a national team.
this video is key to highlight serious underlying issues bayern has had for a long time
I'd say it's a combination of a few small, and probably relatively easily fixable factors that have resulted in this drop of quality.
3:17 Gravenberch is currently successful in Liverpool fc.
who is that player in the bottom left at 3:18 that has proven unsuccessful?
Bayern reflects 🇩🇪's weaknesses and problems as a national team in the last 10 years. Simply don't have great local talent anymore.
The biggest mistake that led to the problem was the installment of Oliver Kahn. The second biggest mistake was to fire Nagelsmann - Bayern was still in all competitions and had an aggressive new style that was more and more getting into the team.
The editing on this video was particularly amazing! Love tifo 💗
Hi Tifo/Joe Devine, I just saw I was for some reason unsubscribed and now need to go on the record and say I have been subscribed and watching since this was Umaxit football!
Bayern Munich can't stand the idea of not winning Bundesliga for a season even after wins it 11 years in a row,
Bayer Leverkusen will win the Bundesliga for the first time in their history and break Bayern's dominance.
The one thing I still can't understand is that Nagelsmann was fired and replaced immediately yet Tuchel gets to keep his job until summer
What’s gone wrong is Bayern Leverkausen. If not for them they’d be on top of the league 4 point lead and this video wouldn’t exist.
I do not think that I have ever experienced a Bayern squad having two consecutive matches without a shot on target.
as a bayern fan, alonso’s leverkusen has been the wake up call for us!
"Kane" will always be the butt of the joke as to why Bayern are suffering from a lack of success in his first season, but obviously everyone knows that isn't the case.
it is more related to board members rather than players and coaches
BTW your book was awesome -tifo team
Bayern Munich are new Juventus remember Juventus dominated Italy for 9 years once they lost it they failed to recover now Bayern are joining it also it will be more miserable for Bayern in coming years since Key players like Kimmich Neuer Müller all will be leaving next year it will create more problems just like it happened to Juventus after 19/20 season
Don't expect Neuer will leave. He spent a lot of time getting back in form after his injury. Pretty sure he will keep playing. Kimmich leaving might be blessing in disguise.
Except Bayern have FAR more money then Juve ever had
@@WinterbIue Neuer will leave since he is 38 already and will be 39 when his contract expires
@@bread3017 having more money doesn't guarantee you safety from failure
@@hishaam3786 So what? Age means nothing. As long as he can play at the required level munich will be happy to have him. No reason why he can't extend his contract for a year or two or even longer. Age doesn't matter, only form and he is in form still.
Imagine being so good that not winning the league for the first time in 12 years is considered a crisis??
with the kind of money they have, it is expected for them to win it every year
People blaming Kane for this despite the fact he is the highest goal scorer in Europe are ridiculous and show how social media has negatively impacted football opinions.
Social media is a low point in humanity.
Its mostly just memetic. Pointing the finger at Kane allows for easy jokes at his lack of major trophies.
@@aumkar2mate nobody is actually blaming Kane for real guys 😂it’s all just memes, there is obviously no “Kane curse” it’s just a funny coincidence that as soon as a player notorious for not winning anything joins them, they are now at risk of losing a trophy they’ve won relentlessly for a decade.
Maybe some small brained people are actually blaming him, but he’s still a world class player, just unlucky. None of this is his fault
When Haaland did the same thing you were all saying he was not that good and had the team drag him. But since its Kane the englishman he suddenly is the goat. The duality of man.
It's just a meme. Football fans supported the decision of him leaving Spurs so he can win a major at least. The thing is, social media will have grown men arguing with 12 yo & talking about stats (high-key ruined football debates).
Money and lack of patience is what’s wrong with modern football. We always focus on the wrong reasons on why big clubs start to fail
as an american fan, seeing Chelsea AND Thomas Tuchel flounder (AT BAYERN no less), while pulisic thrives in milan. its..just...chefs kiss
They actually all thought the same thing. Serie A is Pulisic's level.
Nothing has gone wrong the league finally has a team that’s caught up to them
People believe that in competitive sports the hardest part is finishing first, but it isn't.
