      I would tell anyone who is looking for a professional sounding and playing banjo to buy a Gold Tone.You will not be disappointed.

    Purchased an OB3 Twanger in the UK, and I think it bristles with quality that would cost a lot more money from, let's say, some of the more traditional outlets. I found the set-up great, and it takes around a minute to tune each day. I guess machine tools are pretty much the same the world over, so the quality is in the design and set-up, not where the wood was shaped! I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Gold Tone again. Keep up the good work folks, from a grateful customer across the pond.

    This is all true. I was there last year. Spent an hour trying differant banjos and picked out the one I liked the best. The crew made sure it met their ok, cleaned it and gave me one more try before I payed for her. She sounded awesome then and better now. I wear my GOLD TONE t-shirt with pride. John

    I purchased a banjo from Gold Tone directly - the experience was exceptional. If I add any additional instruments - I will first check with Gold Tone to see what they recommend. I absolutely trust their advice!

    I have talked to ALL the major American banjo companies about making a wider necked banjo for Nylgut playing ..Wayne and the GT staff are the only company that has some wider necks to work with .. The Bob Carlin models the OT6 and the Cello 5 string all have necks that fit the needs for Nylgut work .. Thanks for listening GT .. I am looking forward to a custom combination of parts for making percussive nylgut clawhammer work a reality ..

    But Goldtone still insists on putting the fifth key too close to the fourth fret. The only capo that can be used is a Shubb. If the fifth key was located where it's supposed to be any capo would work.

  • @ArkRed1
    @ArkRed1 8 років тому +2

    Good instruments, sure, but the fifth key on their five string instruments needs to be moved a tad closer to the fifth fret so the fourth fret can be easier for capoing.

      @@GoldTone Level and crown exceeds what typically is considered a set up. Does Gold Tone's FL factory level and crown every instrument that comes from its overseas manufacturer?

    Yes, these are Chinese built. But I think this video assures that you are getting a quality instrument that is set up correctly and will be of excellent value for your money. Otherwise, you'll have to pay a lot more for an American built Deering banjo...

    hello: buy a gold tone minibluegrass and was labeled made in china. They are made in China???

    • @clawhammer704
      @clawhammer704 4 роки тому

      I believe their all made over in china. Then shipped to the USA gold tone facility where they are setup, inspected, shipped to dealers for their markup to consumers. Just like Harley Davidson motorcycles. Most of it is made in other countries and assembly done in the states.

    bueno, no todo eso es cierto,, porque si bien el sonido y la calidad precio son estupendos,,,, el mio un 0b-250 no vino tan bien ajustado como dicen y con algunos defectos de fabrica, como el puente superior con diferentes medidas entre cuerda el puente inferior que se hunde y el mastil sin ajustar.. y la corona superior descentrada en relacion al mastil asi como las cuerdas 1 y 4 muy ajustadas al borde del mastil....aparte de que incorpora otro traste mas con lo que cambia el tono

    Don’t be fooled people! You’re not buying a professional level collectible when you purchase a Gold Tone instrument. Also you should understand from the beginning that this instrument was mass produced in China and will be all but worthless in a decade! While I appreciate seeing them offer jobs to Americans to set up their instruments, the fact remains that they’re building them in China because it’s cheap!
    If you’re serious about an instrument that will not only be worth something years down the road but will also be something you can be proud of to pass on to someone else one day save your money and buy American!
